This is my second visit to this particular location since they opened. Located in the Harrahs…read morecasino there is plenty of free parking and easy access. My first visit was to the main restaurant which is a dining room and viewing access to the building exterior over the Cove concert venue. Stopping over for lunch today I was under the impression I would have the same experience. I was surprised to find that the main dining room was closed, and only the kitchen area was open, which is a small and less formal, but still serving the same menu. Full table service was offered but there was no mention of the change in dining venue on their website. Apparently due to volume and staffing issues the larger dining room is only open on the weekends. One advantage to visiting earlier in the day is that you can order from either the breakfast or the lunch menu. Nice selection of appetizers, my favorite is the towering onion plate which is a nice shareable appetizer. Enjoyed the old-fashioned Philly style cheesesteak which was a huge portion and afforded leftovers for later! Recommend checking when the larger dining room is open to avoid my mistake, but still worth a trip if you're looking for some good and creative bar food!

Mother's Day in Flavortown, folks. Buckle up…read more I confess... I dropped the ball on making a dinner reservation early, and when options ran low, Guy Fieri's place came to the rescue. We've been here before and had a decent time, but this was the first visit with the full crew: husband, kids, and my dad. Let's just say... we had a mix of opinions. We arrived right on time and were seated without a hitch. Our server was super sweet, though there were a couple of small mix-ups with the drinks. No harm done, and it got sorted quickly, and everyone had something to sip while we waited. Food-wise, we ordered up a little tour of the menu: Husband: Trashcan Nachos (his go-to) Me: Plain Jane Burger + Fry Trio Kids: Off Da Hook Fish & Chips Dad: Classic BLT The wait for food was pretty standard. My burger was decent, but something had a sour tang...maybe the tomato or pickles? The tomato was hot, soggy, and a little sad. I scraped it off and moved on. The fry trio, however, was the real winner. Waffle, curly, and straight fries all together? Perfection. The kids liked their fish and chips, but honestly, it was mostly chips. Two small pieces of fish were buried under a skillet of fries. I get it... "Chips" is in the name, but maybe dial it back a bit, Guy? My dad's BLT looked fine, but if his tomatoes were like mine, I doubt it gave "fresh from the garden" vibes. He said it was "decent," which in dad-speak means, "I'll eat it, but I'm not excited." Dessert was where the magic happened. We got the cheesecake and the brookie. The cheesecake? Meh. Not terrible, just cheesecake. But that brookie? Absolute showstopper. Half brownie, half cookie, served warm in a cast iron skillet, topped with ice cream, salted bourbon caramel, and toffee bits. That little skillet of joy made the whole meal worth it. Would I go out of my way to eat here again? Probably not for the main dishes. The food is fine, but for the price, I know I can find better. That said, if I'm ever wandering through the casino in search of something sweet? You better believe I'll be back for that brookie. It was Out. Of. Bounds.

My husband and I first visited Memoir for our anniversary, and it was such an awesome experience, especially for a special occasion like that. After we were done doing all of our (admittedly annoying) photography of the awesome ambiance, we finally sat down to order and eat - and the original amazingness didn't stop there! The menu is not gigantic, which I always appreciate - because I get overwhelmed by too many choices. We picked a few things to share, at the recommendation of our server (who was also amazing and made sure we had a great anniversary dinner). They even gave us a card signed by the staff wishing us a great anniversary! Those little extra touches are what really make a dining experience special. We had the Kale and Bacon Dip for an appetizer, which was DECADENTLY delicious. The dip was smooth and silky with a toasty focaccia which went really well together with the two different textures. And we also grabbed the Pork Potstickers, and my oh my, were those fantastic. Delicate potsticker wrapper, with tons of filling, resting in a carrot-ginger dressing that complemented the potsticker fantastically. We were already so pleased, and didn't believe the entrees could top the starters, but they were just as awesome, which should be no surprise. It was easier to share two entrees, because we couldn't decide between two. Our first entree was the Faroe Island Salmon, and it was cooked to perfection, and served atop an indulgent bed of sweet corn risotto that I still dreeeeam about. And our second entree was the Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which was a little lighter of a meal, so was great paired with the salmon dish which was a tad heavier. I would recommend either of these dishes! We were SO full at this point but we knew we had to get a dessert since this was a special occasion. We shared the chocolate torte and devoured it, even with our extreme fullness. It was so fluffy and chocolatey and DELISH. From start to finish, this was one of the best meals I've had in Omaha. The service was on point, the eats were out of this world, and the vibe of the interior is something to behold. If you're looking for an awesome place to have a special occasion meal or just a nice dinner on a date night, look no further than Memoir for all of the above!

The Parmesan and pepper salad dressing was great on the side salad. My beautiful date had the salmon and risotto. She loved it and she gave me a taste. Agree! We've been to Memoir twice in eight days. This is my new favorite Omaha restaurant.

The service was excellent and our server was attentive. Went there for their fried chicken which was highly recommended but was not a fan. The chicken is under seasoned and dry. Even with the dipping sauce it needed more flavor. Didn't even take a picture because it wasn't that good looking either. It was underwhelming to say the least. However, the biscuits were DELICIOUS. Crisp and amazing with butter and jam. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as well which were tasty and crunchy, they came with tasty goat cheese and some sauce, while I do wish there was a bit more sauce it was still a great choice. The Mimosa flight was good but it wasn't anything special, I do wish for the cost that there was a bit more going on or even bigger portions. Overall good place to go with a good variety of options.

We started with the biscuits, which came out hot and fresh. These were so delicious and buttery, and the peach and blueberry jam took them to the next level. The other members of our party also loved their meals. I can't wait to come back and try more!

Their rotating cocktail menus are one of my favorite things about this spot -- each one has its own creative theme, and the current Halloween menu is such a fun touch. On my most recent visit, I tried the Poltergeist and the Bahama Rita on the recommendation of the bartenders -- both were absolute hits. The drinks here are always beautifully crafted and well-balanced, with a lot of thought behind the presentation and flavor combinations. My only complaint (and it's a small but sad one) is that they no longer serve entrées. I miss when Mercury had a full food menu -- their pasta and burger were truly underrated. These days, you'll only find light bar snacks, which pair well with the cocktails but don't quite replace a meal. Still, for creative cocktails, a stylish atmosphere, and great service, Mercury remains one of the best spots downtown.

That all changed last night and it was beyond my wildest dreams. You arrive to a beautiful, semi-rustic open kitchen/bar concept and warm people who sat us at the coveted kitchen-view table (note, it gets warm--I love this). We shared the Valentine's menu; two starters, two entrees, and two dessert options resulted in us trying one of everything. The starters: Crudo--our surprising favorite--contained buttery yet tart scallops we couldn't shut up about, and fresh made tortellini in a rich red pepper sauce we were spooning out at the end. The entrees: a perfectly cooked crusted, yet tender steak with alarmingly good seasoned hasselback fingerling potatoes, and tender swordfish on a bed of creamy cous cous. The dessert: tart lemon mousse cake was a refreshing end, and a dark chocolate, caramel dish with chantilly I was adding to everything. I had a glass of brut champagne with the dinner and it acted a good cleanser between the numerous tastes but my date had the wine pairing, and that too, complimented everything perfectly.
