Loved this cool little bar and it seemed everyone else does too. When we got here there wasn't a line so we got to order pretty quickly. A few minutes after the line was long but the two workers were great and actually served everyone quickly which made it that much better. I ordered the Lilikoi beer and loved it. I'm a fan of sweeter beers and really don't like the hoppiness of IPA's so I really enjoyed the taste. I can also taste a little of Passion Fruit which was also in the description of the beer. I want to go back to try a few more beers and possibly may try out an IPA since one did say it had fruit accents. The bar is right at the front and has some seating along the bar and tables next to it but seats go fast so I ensure getting there early. read more

This is a great beer drinking location. I don't want to call it a bar, because it's just one stand in the food hall called the Hanger. The problem with many beer drinking locations is when you drink a beer, you probably want something to eat and often times what you can eat at that beer drinking location is not that great or your selection limited. Here you are able to try all the different eating options (Ban Mi, Tacos, korean food, etc) and have great local beer. They have a wide range of local beer from smaller brewers like Brewery X Anaheim, Radiant Beer Co, and Burning Daylight Brewing company in Lomita and a rotating selection. At the time of this review they have 25 different beers on draft, representing many different styles (Westcoast IPA, German Pilsner, and Nitro Stout, etc.). The bartenders are well versed in their selection and can help you find the style and flavor that you will enjoy or you can just play roulette and pick the beer with the best looking tap. I like that the selection is not dominated by IPAs because beer heads love IPAs, but sometimes you want something milder. Beer is sold at 4, 8, and 16 oz, with some 4 oz pours as cheap as $2, so you can really try different styles so you don't have to commit to something if you aren't sure about it. read more

I have to say I liked this place for the sole purpose that they offer draft beers from different breweries. I was sad that I could not try more of them because I was driving, but the two I had were delicious. I will not get into the other beers since I have my preferences of what I drink and like and what I may like other may not. What a great place to have inside Long Beach's food hall, The Hangar. It's located on the opposite end from the main entrance and they have glasses if you plan to stay and drink at a seat at the bar, or plastic cups if you want to sit elsewhere. I was under the impression that this was a brewery, but it's a beer bar so everything on tap is from a wide range of breweries. They do a good job of offering great selections in each category such as IPA's, sours, pilsners, and more. They do provide their draft list on their website if you're looking for something specific and want to check ahead of time. But I think you're likely to find something you like. The entire time I was here there was a bit of a line, but they do a great job of being attentive to those sitting down and also keeping the line moving. read more

With almost 30 options on draft, Bottlecraft is one of my absolute favorite places to grab a beer with friends. Pull up a barstool or walk around The Hangar food hall with a beer to go. The atmosphere is laid back and casual and the pours never disappoint. I love that the selection of beer, cider, and hard kombucha seems to rotate every few weeks so there is always a new option to try! The price is a little steep but worth it with the cost of two drinks around $20 plus tip. The only thing keeping this place from a 5 star rating is the service. Sometimes customers will be waiting in line excessively while the bartender is preoccupied or looking the other way. Sense of urgency and a smile go a long way in the service industry. Finally had the chance to check out LBX a few days ago! I'd been hearing great things about Bottlecraft, and they are not wrong - their taplist is pretty massive, so no matter what you're looking for, they'll likely have several choices. I had a pretty hard time deciding what to get - when I was there that time, they had a cider, a hard kombucha, 2 sours, and *four* different imperial stouts! They're totally happy to help you out (and are clearly knowledgeable about everything on their menu) and/or let you try splashes of whatever you want, though. And their prices are great - the chocolate imperial stout I went with, was only 6 bucks for a full pour, and it was a darn good imperial stout! I really didn't enjoy the fact that they serve their fancy beer in dinky plastic cups like I'm back in college, but that's the only thing I didn't like. I saw a few people with proper glassware - not sure how they determine who gets it. Might be only people sitting at the bar area proper rather than at tables, or maybe they just don't have enough glassware and ran out? Anyway, that felt a little weird, but whatever - it's still the same great beer. read more

BOTTLECRAFT is the newest addition to the Long Beach beer scene. Located in a building called "THE HANGER" right off Lakewood blvd. The building is reminiscent of an aircraft hanger from a bygone era. This building has 14 food vendors including Bottlecraft! They have 24 great beers on tap! Literally something for everybody. Since first being introduced to it back home a couple of years ago, I have been adamant that Iowa-based Toppling Goliath makes the best beer in the country. It has since become my white elephant to find here in Southern California. To date, this is the first and only place I've been able to find it! Bottlecraft Long Beach has an extensive list of mostly California-based beers on tap and a nice selection of offerings from renowned-breweries across the country. In addition, as I mentioned above, they have a bunch of different bottles and cans available to purchase. While obviously only available for takeout for the time being, coming back to Bottlecraft, grabbing a seat at the bar, and tasting their amazing selection of on-tap beers is going to be one of first outings when the Quarantine is over. Awesome location....right at the front. Lots of beers to choose from, alot of less than heard of and seen breweries, along with the more saut after like Russian River (mmmm). Line goes fast and you can get your brews in a plastic cup if you want to go on a walk about around the hangar and see what else they have in store. Not 100% open yet, but I've eaten at half of the food locations also and they are all solid pics for lunch or dinner and distinctly different from each other. It's hard to not get a beer when you come to the hangar unless you come in at the opposite side where Portola coffee is (it's like yin and yang) and don't make a full loop around the back side to the libation section. I do feel like they should build a 2nd floor catwalk and put a few more places to eat and try to get closer to the holy Grail of micro malls The packing house in Anaheim. But also huge shopping center opening all around the hangar makes up for it. read more

I usually give a 3-tier review, but breweries and wineries are different. Some don't serve food at all, so Quality of ingredients and Quantity are tough to critique. I'm not a huge drinker, but I do enjoy a good beer or whiskey every now and then. So here's my brand spanking new 2-tier "Cheers-or-Jeers for Beers" review of Bottlecraft: 1. Taste: Cheers! So far I've tried 3 drafts on tap. During the soft opening week, I tried California Creamin', an ale made with cream soda. It captured the taste of a cream soda that mellowed out the hops. It was nice and refreshing while being on the lower end of the alcohol content scale. The following week I tried a 4 oz of the double chocolate stout. Sorry I forget the name, but it's pretty much exactly like a Guiness with a chocolate infused taste. The other beer I tried was a 4 oz of the horchata & vanilla ale. This was the first time I've ever had a horchata brewed beer and it was probably one of my favorites at Bottlecraft. You can taste the cinnamon and vanilla come through. The beer itself is smooth and reminds me of a Blue Moon. I hope they bottle this up and sell it because this is easily in my Top 5 of craft beers. 2. Cost: Cheers! Prices range from $3 for a 4 oz to $8 for a 16 oz depending on the complexity of the beer, whether it's an IPA, Stout, Pale Ale, Sour, Cider, etc. It's nice getting to double-fist a couple of 4 oz cups as a taster. I didn't see an option for a flight of beers, but I like the low price point no matter what. Some breweries can be a little to pretentious and snooty when it comes to craft beers charging an arm and a leg for a pint. With it's location and the massive selection to choose from (including wine and kombucha) the price is well worth it. Overall: CHEERS! The menu changes from week to week it seems like, so don't be upset if you find the beer you really liked isn't on the menu the next time you go. I hope the horchata ale is still there because I'll probably purchase a growler of that beer-chata. What's also cool as that I had my baby daughters with me the whole time at Bottlecraft, and other parents were there with their kids/babies as well. So you won't feel uncomfortable at all while double-fisting beers while pushing a stroller. Thank goodness for cup holders on baby strollers :) If you love beer, go out and try Bottlecraft at The Hangar! Cheers! read more

Stopped by the Hanger to grab a late lunch and was craving a beer. Bottlecraft has 27 options to choose from. I was deciding between Video Feedback (which is their own beer) and Gummiberry Crush. I told the guy who helped me what I was deciding between and he said was biased towards Video Feedback (make sense since it is their own beer!). I probably should've asked to taste the two first, but I usually trust the judgment of those who work in breweries. The Video Feedback, in my opinion, was a good standard IPA. The menu says it is "soft & juicy with notes of peaches" and there was a slight hint of peach, but not too strong. I was so happy to hear Bottlecraft opened a location in Long Beach. We've been going to the location in Little Italy down in SD for forever and my boyfriend used to get the monthly beer boxes (don't know if they still do them, but it was awesome to be try a variety of beers every month). The tap list here is always on point. I always manage to find something I haven't tried, which says a lot because I drink a lot of beer. They always have a good variety too. They're not too IPA heavy, which most places are. The service has always been pretty chill. They get busy at times so I'm wondering if that's why so many people have said the service isn't good.
