I called him and questioned the invoice since we had agreed to $100/visit and he claimed there were more leaves in November and that he came twice (which I did not ask him to do). Well, the square footage is the same and we had agreed on a price. So he told me (rudely) "Fine, pay me what you want to pay me and I'll stop being your landscaper." I told him that a client questioning a charge on a bill was reasonable and he just lost a customer, which he seemed perfectly okay with, which to me shows that his customer service is terrible. I believe he is a crook by changing his prices on a whim. He was probably angry because I decided to go with another company for snow removal (because they were $10/visit cheaper). Sean, the owner, sent over Dan and his team to work on it. With an incredible eye for detail and his knowledge of plant material, Dan quickly went to work on relocating plants and choosing new ones to compliment the design. They made sure to plant things properly (not too low to be choked off by their own roots and not kept in their burlap or metal cages), which has happened in the past with other companies. Additionally, my front walkway was shifting and sinking (after only 5 years because another landscaper installed it using improper base material). Matt repaired it so it now lays completely flat and level. The property now looks like a completely different home! It has interest, color and a well-designed layout. I couldn't be happier! The basic tree cutting and…read morepruning was fine, though it required heavy oversight on my part and multiple follow-up visits to get the root removal completed correctly due to communication issues between the owner and the on-site crew. I was forced into the position of being the site supervisor despite a language barrier with the crew and having to repeatedly follow up to get the work done as agreed, and a section of my wood fence had to be taken down multiple times, causing wear and tear. Because they got the job done at a reasonable price, I tried giving them another chance this year and requested an estimate. Santiago came out to the house for a walk-through, and I followed up by email with a detailed scope of work for a yard project that needed old soil, a concrete block, tree roots, and shredded tires removed and replaced with new topsoil. They never provided the price estimate. I sent several follow-up emails over a months time, including a final direct request a few days ago asking if they were interested in the project. I have been completely ghosted and received zero response. If you need straightforward tree removal and pruning, they can do the job, but you may have to micro-manage the work if the job requires things done a specific way or custom instructions (in my case, roots removed to a specific agreed upon depth). Reliable communication and professional on-site project management were lacking and made the experience more stressful than necessary. For all my future tree removal and pruning needs, I will be using locally based McKinney Brothers Tree Service instead. Their pricing is just as competitive, and their superior communication makes them the better option.

Gleison, one of the owners, came out the next day to take a look at the property and give a free consultation during which he was very nice, helpful and clearly passionate about his craft. His crew did the work the day after with Gleison working alongside. They were efficient, professional and did quality work in just a few hours cleaning up the entire front and backyard of pine needles and leaves and then mowing, aerating and seeding at a very reasonable price. They even quoted a gutter cleanup at 2x less than what I paid in the past. I will continue to use Mow and Grow in the future.
