I had high hopes for this place but I must say that our entire party was quite let down with the food and the service. Pros: The bolinhos de bacalau were very tasty and the mayonnaise that they included with this appetizer were great. The pitcher of caipirinha we ordered was GREAT too, they were not stingy with the alcohol. Cons: The service was terrible, we ordered our entrees and they bought out one of the entrees and the remaining three entrees arrived almost 20 minutes later. The person that got their entree first wound up eating ice-cold skewers of beef and chicken. There was almost no follow-up from the server nor did she bother to tell us why there was such a delay. I understand if the restaurant is rocking and rolling but it was pretty empty. The food was disappointing and quite expensive considering the poor quality. I ordered a picanha burger cooked medium but it came out very well done. My wife ordered the palomilla and it tasted quite bland. This is supposed to be a Brazilian establishment yet none of the workers were Brazilian from what we could tell. Not that this matters but we felt it was quite unusual. They use valet parking - I do not have an issue with valet parking but the place was literally empty except for a few folks sitting at the bar. Not sure why they charge $7.00 for the valet parking when both the restaurant and the parking lot were empty. This will be my first and last time visiting this place. There are a lot of other options out there offering better service, reasonable prices, and way better attention to servicing and taking care of the clients. Went on a Friday night before the crowds. The two stars are for the $10 cocktails which others in my party said were good. The main issue was we waited well over an hour for our food. After all the tables around us received their food our server said her toast tab POS didn't connect to put our order in. Only then was our order actually placed. Boteco is one of my go to places for Brazilian food in Miami. Is conveniently located on 79th close to the Biscayne and close to the cause way that takes you to Miami Beach and Collins Avenue. I have dinned here multiple times, brought friends and always enjoyed the atmosphere. The bar tenders and servers are really helpful and make you feel comfortable. The food is very good. Boteco has easily become one of my favorites in the MiMo neighborhood. I have visited twice so far. Once on a Sunday and once for lunch. Hands down good experience both times. Even though we had a hiccup a few times due to language barrier but still I highly recommend this place. Lunch- My friend and I opted to order some apps and split the Burger special on the lunch menu. We ordered Bolinho De Bacalhau (fried codfish croquete), Coxinha De Frango (chicken croquettes & catupiry cheese), and my favorite Caipirinha. Tip. The codfish balls are not great but the chicken croquetas and the drink was delicious!! The burger was good too but I think next time I'll explore the menu more instead of acting like a basic American ordering a burger at a Brazilian spot. Sunday was the icing on the cake for me. They had a Dj playing Brazilian music and guess what? People were dancing! I mean seriously they were salsa dancing and it was amazing! The music was good and the crowd was local. I couldn't believe how close I live to this place and I've been missing out. I ordered the Picanha Steak, chicken empanadas and of coarse my partner in crime Caipirinha. Well eating here (probably one of the best steaks ever) I almost got attacked by a drunk customer while eating with my friends. Didn't get anything from my bill taken off after this horrible experience. The food was great to be honest, the experience just wasn't great. I'm sitting at my own table with 3 friends eating and this guy next to us was TOO drunk falling all over the bar and everyone watches him get kicked out NUMEROUS times!! But he kept coming back inside and decided out of no where to pick a fight with me and the friends at my table. Instead of permanently kicking him out or calling the cops the managers just shoved him out like it's a normal thing for customers to come here and get drunk and act such a way. We arrived to learn that there's a mandatory valet parking otherwise you park on the streets which by the way. There wasn't too many spots. When we walked in we thought great something authentic the weather was nice so we agreed on the outside. Not only was there someone smoking on our face which granted we picked outside but the music was so loud we had to nearly yell. The food took forever and some didn't even come out. I ordered a michelada which is technically a beer with tomato juice salt and lime. I get a plain beer and she says "that's all we got". The meat was supposed to be medium rare and it was not. There was a huge margin on it with a thought layer in between the meat and the fat. Will i come back again? Definitely not. Not sure what has happened to Boteco but was there for ladies' night this past Tuesday and it was pretty dull. I remember going years ago, and you couldn't find a seat! Everyone was up dancing samba and having a great time! This time around there were 4 girls in one table, my bf and I and some other folks came in but I think they were either related to or friends with the DJ. Anyway, they said they don't play samba anymore which doesn't make any sense to me at all since that was one of the main attractions, but it is what they said sadly! I visited on a whim while looking for a good lunchtime burger I could enjoy, and I have to say that this place was an absolute gem. The decor is well done and feels like a cross between cozy and of the city, even the outdoor patio section looks like the kind of place I'd try out when it cools down some more. I'm picky about my burgers and love that these guys shape their Pattie's by hand so as to not overwork the beef. Even the fries were crispy with a dusting similar to how Arby's used to have theirs. One issue I had is that I only saw one person in the bar/floor despite there being 8 or 9 parties split between the main room, bar, and outside, so I didn't feel like bothering him too much. On a suggestion of a friend came here on a Friday night. They had a live entertainment that was fitting for a Brazilian establishment. There was ample seating inside and outside. Went with inside to enjoy the music. It was a little loud but was OK with that. There was one server for inside and manager helping out. The service was OK but not the best attention. Not a big deal unless you don't like catching the server's attention. Had a steak with rice, beans , salad and yucca. Great value for the money and all the food was good. Guess the kitchen was busy at the time but my black beans came in a cup. Haha. I just wished they filled it up. Overall food was great and tasty. Would go back when there's a different vibe.
