I had high hopes for this place but I must say that our entire party was quite let down with the food and the service. Pros: The bolinhos de bacalau were very tasty and the mayonnaise that they included with this appetizer were great. The pitcher of caipirinha we ordered was GREAT too, they were not stingy with the alcohol. Cons: The service was terrible, we ordered our entrees and they bought out one of the entrees and the remaining three entrees arrived almost 20 minutes later. The person that got their entree first wound up eating ice-cold skewers of beef and chicken. There was almost no follow-up from the server nor did she bother to tell us why there was such a delay. I understand if the restaurant is rocking and rolling but it was pretty empty. The food was disappointing and quite expensive considering the poor quality. I ordered a picanha burger cooked medium but it came out very well done. My wife ordered the palomilla and it tasted quite bland. This is supposed to be a Brazilian establishment yet none of the workers were Brazilian from what we could tell. Not that this matters but we felt it was quite unusual. They use valet parking - I do not have an issue with valet parking but the place was literally empty except for a few folks sitting at the bar. Not sure why they charge $7.00 for the valet parking when both the restaurant and the parking lot were empty. This will be my first and last time visiting this place. There are a lot of other options out there offering better service, reasonable prices, and way better attention to servicing and taking care of the clients. The fact that the 20% tip is automatically added to the check speaks volumes. We were a party of four with a child and they tacked on 20% automatically? read more

Went a d was s thee on business. But the smells brought me back. The bar and decor are super cool and very vibrant with records on the roof and pictures and trees with Brazilian feel. Good patio section also. I had the beef with yuca . The yuca was awesome crunchy and soft inside so good yummm. Beef flavor was good and soft shredded beef. Love the sauce too so good. Service and staff are very attentive and nice . Great food menu looks serious. Next stop Picana! Will come again. read more

Great flavors, but too much salt on everything we ordered. Service is really bad since 20% service charge is included and if you pay with credit card there is a 3% surcharge. In other words we left 23% tip for bad service and raised my blood pressure with all the salt I ate read more

The place is very nice! I felt like I was in Brazil for real! I went with my two friends on a game day, and they left wanting to go to Brazil so badly! The food is delicious and came very fast. I didn't think it was expensive. They have live music; the night we went, it was Sertanejo, and I loved it! It was packed! We loved it! I cannot wait to go back! read more

Food is delicious, service is great!! Brought my Brazilian daughter-in-law to try it out and she really enjoyed the stroganoff and the caipirinha. My picanha was well seasoned, but a little overcooked for me. The brigadeiros and pudim were also enjoyed by the family too! We loved the laid back vibe and would love to come back in the evening. read more

Went on a Friday night before the crowds. The two stars are for the $10 cocktails which others in my party said were good. The main issue was we waited well over an hour for our food. After all the tables around us received their food our server said her toast tab POS didn't connect to put our order in. Only then was our order actually placed. Other than an apology nothing was offered to our table for the mishap. The food was fine. Then, she didn't tell us gratuity was included so we tipped extra for service that was truly subpar. read more

First time visiting this Brazilian restaurant. We decided to eat outside. The food came fast and it tasted really good. Tried the coxinhas for appetizer and I ate the picanha for main course. Boteco is one of my go to places for Brazilian food in Miami. Is conveniently located on 79th close to the Biscayne and close to the cause way that takes you to Miami Beach and Collins Avenue. I have dinned here multiple times, brought friends and always enjoyed the atmosphere. The bar tenders and servers are really helpful and make you feel comfortable. The food is very good. From the picanha, feijoada, coxinhas (mmhhhh I love those) ... frango à passarinho, stroganoff, everything is delicious. Give it a try. read more

A cross between a gastropub and beachside cabana, Boteco is the idyllic place to unleash your FIFA frenzy or Samba steps. This Brazilian resto-lounge with a local vibe specializes in sharable plates like Escondidinho de Carne; a Shepard's pie that layers seasoned ground beef, whipped yucca, and creamy catupiry cheese or Frango a Passarinho; garlic and parsley tossed fried chicken wings. If there's a variation on the caipirinha cocktail...then Boteco has it. Caipisake (sake), Capiroshka (vodka) or the original with Leblon cachaça are combined with sugar and muddled with fresh kiwi, grape, strawberry, pineapple, or lime. There are bottled beers imported from the land of Order and Progress but Chopps, near-freezing 10 oz. draft pilsners, can help you keep your cool even if the footballers on-screen don't. Catch every match from the dance floor...if you can hear over the live band and the constant clinking of glassware. read more

Delicious food and a great party vibe. Might want to get here earlier next time, this place was popping off when I arrived. But that just made for a great party vibe to go with the great food. I had the Beef Stroganoff with fried yuca, and some cheese bread. Everything was honestly delicious, the portions were good, and the staff was very friendly all around. Will definitely be returning! read more

Boteco has easily become one of my favorites in the MiMo neighborhood. I have visited twice so far. Once on a Sunday and once for lunch. Hands down good experience both times. Even though we had a hiccup a few times due to language barrier but still I highly recommend this place. Lunch- My friend and I opted to order some apps and split the Burger special on the lunch menu. We ordered Bolinho De Bacalhau (fried codfish croquete), Coxinha De Frango (chicken croquettes & catupiry cheese), and my favorite Caipirinha. Tip. The codfish balls are not great but the chicken croquetas and the drink was delicious!! The burger was good too but I think next time I'll explore the menu more instead of acting like a basic American ordering a burger at a Brazilian spot. Sunday was the icing on the cake for me. They had a Dj playing Brazilian music and guess what? People were dancing! I mean seriously they were salsa dancing and it was amazing! The music was good and the crowd was local. I couldn't believe how close I live to this place and I've been missing out. I ordered the Picanha Steak, chicken empanadas and of coarse my partner in crime Caipirinha. That Sunday, I laughed, danced and promised I would bring friends and family here. Tip order the steak one temp down because they serve it on a sizzling skillet so it's still cooking when you receive it. I ordered med and by the time I ate most of it it was beyond well done. read more

Well eating here (probably one of the best steaks ever) I almost got attacked by a drunk customer while eating with my friends. Didn't get anything from my bill taken off after this horrible experience. The food was great to be honest, the experience just wasn't great. I'm sitting at my own table with 3 friends eating and this guy next to us was TOO drunk falling all over the bar and everyone watches him get kicked out NUMEROUS times!! But he kept coming back inside and decided out of no where to pick a fight with me and the friends at my table. Instead of permanently kicking him out or calling the cops the managers just shoved him out like it's a normal thing for customers to come here and get drunk and act such a way. Not safe because if I would've used my registered hands to fight I would have went to jail. Food was great, beers buckets were cheap ($20), Not much parking in valet so be prepared to walk down the street to park. read more

Meh beef served in a casual atmosphere. Service is slow since there's a one man show with his helper. Besides that the $22 Pichana steak was so so. A bit pricy for the overall experience though. Also the quality of beef should be improved. $22 for 8-10oz of select beef is way overpriced. Presentation was good with all the right smells but once you cut into it, you can chew and chew some more and see the meat is, well...chewy. I believe they're a bar trying to serve food, and not a restaurant that serves drinks. Their focus definitely isn't on the food...so a bit disappointed. read more

We made every excuse to not have to cook dinner at home tonight & instead found ourselves here at Boteco. It has been years since I last visited but I'm so glad we did. They have ample outside seating with the tables safely spaced out amongst each other. Service was quick and friendly. Ordered their yucca and cheese croquetas and the palomilla steak (which came accompanied by garlic fries and white rice). Everything was delicious! We will definitely be by again. read more

It wasn't all that. I was in the mood for a filet and so we thought of this place something casual. ''Twas way too casual. We arrived to learn that there's a mandatory valet parking otherwise you park on the streets which by the way. There wasn't too many spots. When we walked in we thought great something authentic the weather was nice so we agreed on the outside. Not only was there someone smoking on our face which granted we picked outside but the music was so loud we had to nearly yell. The food took forever and some didn't even come out. I ordered a michelada which is technically a beer with tomato juice salt and lime. I get a plain beer and she says "that's all we got". The meat was supposed to be medium rare and it was not. There was a huge margin on it with a thought layer in between the meat and the fat. Will i come back again? Definitely not. But if you're Brazilian and like feeling like you're there then this might be it. read more

Not sure what has happened to Boteco but was there for ladies' night this past Tuesday and it was pretty dull. I remember going years ago, and you couldn't find a seat! Everyone was up dancing samba and having a great time! This time around there were 4 girls in one table, my bf and I and some other folks came in but I think they were either related to or friends with the DJ. Anyway, they said they don't play samba anymore which doesn't make any sense to me at all since that was one of the main attractions, but it is what they said sadly! The food was good but the ambience very uneventful, would not drive 20 miles there for a lame night. Sorry. Bring samba back please! read more

What the heck happened to Boteco? This has been my feel good place for the last 4.5 years. A visit to Boteco usually fixes all ills. Now, it's disgraceful. Last time I was here I ordered their Picanha Fatiado my usual go to plate. The Picanha was dry, tough and embarrassingly a waste of money. This time I ordered the Franga a Pasarinho (excuse my spelling) . Seriously? Chicken backs ? Is Boteco that close to failure that they need to use Chicken backs instead of drumstick? Come on guys! Also noticed that the new staff are NOTHING like what I came to really appreciate. Cold, self centered and seriously not people that I want to tip. The writing's on the fall, Boteco shall fall if they don't up their game. "Slip slidin away" will be their new theme song instead of Samba! read more

On a suggestion of a friend came here on a Friday night. They had a live entertainment that was fitting for a Brazilian establishment. There was ample seating inside and outside. Went with inside to enjoy the music. It was a little loud but was OK with that. There was one server for inside and manager helping out. The service was OK but not the best attention. Not a big deal unless you don't like catching the server's attention. Had a steak with rice, beans , salad and yucca. Great value for the money and all the food was good. Guess the kitchen was busy at the time but my black beans came in a cup. Haha. I just wished they filled it up. Overall food was great and tasty. Would go back when there's a different vibe. Maybe for the buffet or when the server isn't so busy. read more

I visited on a whim while looking for a good lunchtime burger I could enjoy, and I have to say that this place was an absolute gem. The decor is well done and feels like a cross between cozy and of the city, even the outdoor patio section looks like the kind of place I'd try out when it cools down some more. I'm picky about my burgers and love that these guys shape their Pattie's by hand so as to not overwork the beef. Even the fries were crispy with a dusting similar to how Arby's used to have theirs. One issue I had is that I only saw one person in the bar/floor despite there being 8 or 9 parties split between the main room, bar, and outside, so I didn't feel like bothering him too much. This made processing the bill take a significant amount of time, so try to be aware of that if you visit. read more

The food was good, but the server was very rude. She kept asking us to leave the table while we were still having drinks and food cause she wanted us to consume a minimum of $30 per person. I tried to explain to her my friend cant drink alcohol cause of his medical condition, but she didn't care. My other friend got the drinks from the bar, but she said in order to sit in the table had to order it with her. Very unprofessional. My friends left the table and went to the bar. When my friend came back to talk to me (standing) next to me, the server said we couldn't be at the table anymore cause my friend was standing next to us, and I wasn't even sitting at the table!! horrible!
