I felt so comfortable the second I came into this salon. Regina was so sweet and listened to my questions/concerns. Her daughter even squeezed me in for a lamination appointment and chatted with me the whole time. At one point they were both working on my eyebrows and I felt extremely catered to. They were both very meticulous and I felt relaxed. I'd recommend them to anyone!

This is what it started to look like after touch up.

Regina was great at answering my questions and preparing me for the microblading session. I definitely left the session happy and felt my eyebrows looked great! Unfortunately, my eyebrows began to fade out after the touch up to the point that it now looks like a faded tattoo. Also, one end of my eyebrow was done higher than where my brow hair usually grows. At first it wasn't noticeable because Regina had threaded off most of the end of my eyebrow when doing the microblading. But now that my hair has grown back in it looks like I have two ends. One a little higher and another lower and because they are two different colors since the microblading has faded off to a light grey/black and my natural eyebrows are a dark brown it looks horrible. I did not want to go through this process again and I am waiting to see how long it may take for them to completely fade out. However, due to how noticeable the difference is I may have to find someone to fix this.

Do not go there please!!! it was a disaster, my eyebrow are thick, she cut the longest part of my eyebrow and i had to put cream because i get red marks near to my eyebrow for 2 days, as you see in the attached picture. I trusted the website below, but do not do this mistake, since anyone can create an account and nominate whoever he wants. i did it just to test how trustworthy it is. https://boston.cityvoter.com/best/brow-shaping/beauty-and-wellness/boston

I am a VERY anal person when it comes to my eyebrows. They literally frame your face and I've been burned by plenty of fake "brow artists" that claim to know what they're doing. I had to unfortunately move from another part of Mass. due to my job and was in desperate need of a new brow artist. Rejina was a pure delight all around! I found her salon to be not only professional, but super relaxing. My eyebrows have never looked better. Even if you're not in the Allston/Brighton area, she's definitely worth the travel. You have to pop in sometime and get your eyebrows threaded by her. I won't be going to anyone else anytime soon!

Im very happy I got my eyebrows microbladed!! Rejina did an awesome job and I love the finished product. I waited about a month to do a review as I was waiting for them to be fully healed. She made it as comfortable as possible and made it the best experience one could have! I am bad with change and was a little freaked out at first because when they scab over they get really dark. But that naturally occurs with any sort of tattooing. Although Rejina called me to check up on me and helped me through my freak out, and was there through it all! :) Once the scabs came off, and the brows fully healed, they look amazing! Just as she stressed to me that getting microblading is a process. Overall I am extremely happy with how they turned out and it is very well worth the healing process!

Went here for my first haircut after COVID shutdowns. I was slightly nervous about this but the…read morewhole process put me at ease. Douja is the only stylist that works here, services are appointment-only and appointments are scheduled with disinfecting time in between, so she and I were the only ones in the shop, and she could do her work just as well with both of us masked. The haircut itself was great -- I used to go to Douja when she was at Sublime Salon in Cambridge and I instantly remembered why. I'm a guy so I don't have the language to tell someone exactly what to do. With Douja I can just tell her how long I want it, maybe tell her about some terrible haircuts I've had while she works, and she's competent enough to handle the rest. Douja herself is also awesome -- she'll tell you exactly what she thinks and wants you to do the same. *Note that this is a new salon Douja started in 2020, so other staff from Sublime, gift cards, etc. are likely different. Yelp may just be erroneously combining new and old business reviews.

I have done single process, partial highlights, full highlights, and hair cuts with her. She has done a perfect job each and every time. I would highly recommend her to anyone! Her prices are more than fair and her work product is priceless. Further, she is efficient with her time without sacrificing the end result. I greatly appreciate that I am not sitting in the chair for an unnecessary amount of time which is what happens at most other salons. And for the time I am sitting in the chair, she is great conversation! Not only does she do amazing work, she cultivates a safe space through her radiant and kind personality. I am so lucky to have been referred to her by a friend and I hope to have her do my hair forever! I have curly dark brown hair and she has safely got me to the blonde shade I desire. Her highlights add so much dimension to my hair and I feel so confident after she does my hair. My hair is so healthy and she is very knowledgeable on how to safely bleach hair, especially curly hair. Douja is so talented and everyone should get their hair done by her!!

Hello, so this post may be TMI - so if you aren't into that, keep scrolling and just look at the 5…read morestars ~ I am a light skinned black women w/ very coarse curly hair. My private area hairs HATE being waxed. I always end up getting ingrown hairs after a wax. I have had nothing but issues with waxing, even after visiting European Wax Center. Once upon a time I lived in Atlanta and would get waxes from Andreas, but I no longer live there. STRAVROULA, the waxer, was the absolute best. She works in the basement of a hair salon, but the wax room is clean and tidy. I told her I don't usually wax because of getting ingrown hairs. I was only getting a bikini wax, so she gave me a pair of disposable underwear. I thought that was great and professional. I told her I wanted to try the Sugar wax, as I had read about it, and wanted to try it out. She tried the sugar wax on me and the sensitive skin wax on me. She would use the different waxes for different parts of my skin. She payed attention to me, engaged in conversation and the wax did not hurt as much as I thought. The pain level was about the same with other waxes that I have had. After the wax, my skin was very bumpy and red, but within the next few hours that went away. I wanted to write a review the day I got the wax, but decided to wait because my issues usually pop up AFTER the wax with ingrown hairs, but I can say 1 week later, my extended bikini line is still bump free. I will ONLY be going to STRAVOULA and actually look forward to getting another before my next vacation. Side bar: I always HATE how people who wax you, tell you to come more often to reduce the pain and the amount of hair and I really think that is a myth and a way for the shop to make more money. At European Wax Center they always try and make you buy a package to save $X.00 over time and they wax you so fast, there is no personal touch. I feel that they only care about profits. I felt that Stravoula actually cared about my skin and wanted me to have a great experience. I do not hate EWC, but they are both near eachother and one is franchise, while the other is a small business owner who has been doing this sort of work for 20+ years. Good luck hairy gals!

The room was rinky dinky. And she had a rude tone in her voice when I genuinely asked about why she switched up the routine. I already decided before going that I was switching to a different spa, but now I am DEFINITELY switching. I guess you get what you pay for. Oh and she left leftover dried up mask product on my face after the last facial. And said she cleared up all my blackheads, when I had a whole jaw line and cheek full of them. Did she not see them under the bright light?? I don't get it. They're clearly black and white and obviously there. I'm confused, genuinely.

I received an email from EWC out of the blue with details of 50% off all services through the end…read moreof the year. I had been to a location in Washington DC several years ago, and haven't heard from them since, so this must have been fate! I have had so many bad waxes in the last two years, but decided to take one more chance and booked online with Jenelle (based on a couple of reviews on Yelp). My appt was at 9:15 on a Saturday morning, so there was no wait at all and the salon was quiet. Jenelle is really nice and did an AMAZING job - not one single stray hair for me to tweeze (which is not a problem for me, but I have left a few visits elsewhere practically needing to go somewhere the next day... no exaggeration) and no wax residue on me either. If you have ever had wax stuck to you the next day that just will not come off, you know how exciting this was for me! Payment was quick and easy, they allow a tip to be left on your credit card, but I like to give cash. Thanks Jenelle, and see you next time!

I had eyebrows, upper and lower lip, and chin done last Sunday. The technician had a nice demeanor,…read morebut her technique left me with sores (that soon turned into scabs) on my lower lip and eyebrow area. Instead of using a single swift pull, this technician (Sheila) used a series of small pulls, which I believe led to the sores. But I'm not sure about that. What I can say is that I'm in my mid-50s, have been waxing for decades, and have never been left with sores/scabs. So this issue is distinct to this visit to EWC in Brookline, MA (and I've been to several others in the area). Additionally troubling is that I wrote a note to EWC stating the above to no avail, even offering to send them photos that I'd taken. Not only did no one contact me, I know they received my complaint because I got a follow-up survey inquiring as to my satisfaction regarding the efficacy of their follow-up. Incredible! You can't make this stuff up. I've even checked Junk, thinking "surely not, surely *someone* would have written back; maybe it went into the Spam folder." Nope. Non. Nada. Anyway, the woman at the front desk was lovely, friendly, chatty, and very welcoming. Despite that, unless I want more scabs, returning to this EWC seems unwise and so I won't.
