I immediately started a conversation with I don't want my money back. I'm just asking a question it didn't matter. He screamed at me so he haven't seen who I was. Boston Bay has gone downhill substantially over the last five years or so. My wife and I ordered a small pizza, a chicken parm grinder and boneless wings. The wings were so overcooked that many of them we literally inedible. The chicken parm was made with low quality breaded patties and the pizza was very sparse on toppings. No complaints with toppings (pepperoni, mushroom and red onions). But for the price the size and dough/crust made this a flop. I frequent this place for large lunch orders at work. Their pizza is honestly my favorite in the city. The Fajita Chicken and Steak Bacon ranch pizzas are fantastic! Their salads are hearty and you definitely get your monies worth on those. The rest of their menu is sub-par. Grinders are standard fair and their paninis and sandwich's are fine but nothing to write home about. The actual dine in area is small and clean but I don't think it's really geared towards dine in customers. Unfortunately, this local restaurant does not care about quality control. I ordered two grinders, a Cajun steak and a chicken parmigiana. The 'Cajun steak' was ground beef and the chicken parmigiana was old chicken strips thrown into a grinder. When I called I was met with hostility, and told 'you don't know what you're talking about, I've been making steak for years and noone has complained.' That doesn't make it right that you botched my order and refused to make it right. This is HORRIBLE customer service and I will continue to let all folks know not to buy here. I was not asking for any credits, any free food, any restitution, just that they make our order properly. I fear they take orders who utilize coupons they advertised to short change consumers. Very disappointed. First review I've actually taken the time to write in years. Clams way over cooked and hard. Must have been frozen? Same with fries. Salad doesn't have one piece without brown edges etc wilted. Skimpy. Sides offered with items chosen weren't included? The Shep pie seems to have been made with chopped up grilled hamburger patties? Some type of gravy covering it? The online order had already a box checked not to add anything but cones covered in gravy. Garlic bread way too crunchy and has a strange flavor? One of the first local spots I tried when I moved to town. (Hard to miss the huge lighthouse when you get off the Pike) it's hard thinking of something good to say about this place other than the building looks nice and new from the outside. Always A rude Staff experience, and slightly expense for subpar food. The feeling you get that you are annoying the person taking your order is hard to shake if it happens EVERY time you call. I don't even know why we happened to give them 3 or 4 chances. We must have assumed something was good since they appear on the outside to be a successful establishment. One interaction stands out to me in particular. Probably because it was the last time I'll ever give this place my money. I didn't get pickles on my cheese burger grinder once, not sure who's fault that was during ordering process, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was mine. When I asked if I could just have some on the side to put on myself they gave me a wad of tin foil with a couple of pickles crumpled up inside and charged me $1. (I had already paid for the food left a tip and then went back in with my pickle request) I paid the $1 but then just asked "would you have charged extra if they were just asked for on the grinder?" Assuming it was I who forgot to ask for the pickles (not likely, pickles being essential to my burger experience. BUT ANYWAY..) the girl said "no" and sheepishly implied than that her boss is making her charge me. Well I guess you gotta pay for that fancy looking building with the lighthouse somehow. It's either all that condiment money adding up or I'm thinking this place is a front for something sketchy. It is shocking they are still open considering all the bad experiences I have had and the reputation they have with a few of my neighbors and basically everyone I've mentioned this story to that has been there. The mediocre food is not worth the stress of dealing with this establishment. Plenty of other less pretentious pizza shops in town that are friendly, with good customer service and good food. ie Romano's, Brother's, ... The location is weird, but this is a surprisingly solid choice for pizza. Located just off the Chicopee exit of the Pike on a main traffic corridor, Boston Bay Pizza's polished exterior makes it look a bit like a chain restaurant. In fact, we mistook it for one until we read about their local mom & pop history. But it's easy in/out, and has a private parking lot. Bonus. It also has free wi-fi, patio seating (if you don't mind the view of non-stop traffic), plenty of big comfy booths, table seating, as well as a trio of leather club chairs facing a fireplace thing that hangs on the far wall of the restaurant. There is also a table of magazines, newspapers and other reading materials offered as a courtesy to diners...combined with the club chairs and free wi-fi, this seems like a friendly touch to those flying solo. Everything about Boston Bay, both inside and out, felt neat, tidy, thoughtful and organized. The pizza menu has a lot of interesting combinations and, with the help of Groupon, we have slowly been working our way through the list. My absolute favorite is the Steak & Cheese Ranch, or whatever it's called. It's outstanding. The Buffalo Bleu was a really good idea, but the flavors were disappointingly mild..we were hoping for more in-your-face spicy buffalo and blue cheese notes. The chicken fajita pizza was just ok...again, good idea, but missing a little something. A mixed sauce of salsa and sour cream, perhaps? A little chopped cilantro? Those additions could very possibly take it where it needs to go. The crust is wonderful and is on the thinner side...it has a great, fresh, doughy taste and there's just the right amount of it to compliment and provide a vehicle for, rather than overshadow, the toppings. I can also vouch for the oven-baked chicken wings. Boyfriend likes slimy/saucy wings, I prefer mine drier. Boston Bay's wings have terrific flavor and are of the slimy/saucy variety...if you want them drier, just ask for well done...these folks are very friendly and accommodating. We're out of groupons, but we'll be going back even if we have to pay full price. And, sadly, I can't say that about too many of our groupon "finds." read more

The worst and rudest experience! Delivery person was just plain rude! He came back after a delivery to pick up a soda he delivered in error. We generally order once a week. The driver would not let us have it, even after we said we have a coupon, would it be ok to keep? We could have opened it by then. He flatly and rudely said NO. We called to explain what happened, and that was a bad experience as well. The soda needed to go to another customer, even though they are right up the street and the driver could have picked up another at the restaurant. Person on the phone was not much better, and definitely unprofessional and unaccommodating. Not to mention my Reuben panini was dry and disgustingly salty with little or no sauerkraut! I really enjoy this place for some quick, easy food. Their fajita chicken pizza is a serving perfect for two people, and is delicious with a kick to it. Their buffalo chicken quesadilla is also great, and oddly enough, comes with plenty of french fries. Their paninis are not typical - the bread is almost more of a foccacia than bread typically used for paninis, so they aren't as light as I'm used to. Their fries are fantastic and they give you a LOT. Definitely a go-to for our weekly family gatherings when we're too lazy to cook, and it'll stay that way! read more

This place over charged me. I stopped in to by a large pizza with 3 toppings for take out. The final bill was $25.64 but when I checked my bank statement a couple days later they charged me $26.74. No I didn't leave a tip so the extra charge was not tip, I went in order and patiently waited so I didn't think a tip was warranted. I called them for an explanation of why I was charged more than what is on my receipt and the guy keep telling me he is only the kitchen guy and there is nothing he can do about it. He told me there is no manager there and no way for him to contact the manager. Even worst Ma sales tax is 6.24% but the also charged me 7% for tax and he did not have an answer on that for me either. Worst he eventually hanged up on me. The over charged amount is not much it's the principal of the matter, they don't seem to have any integrity. If they do this to every customer hoping they don't check their statement that is a lot of money/fraud to customers. read more

I'll say this about Boston Bay's pizza, the crust is great but the rest tends to be merely above average. However considering some of its closest pizza neighbors, it's on the better side of the pizza life. Now honestly I wish I could give Boston Bay a 3.5 because it's other food options and quality of its delivery service is where it shines. Ordering a mix of grinders and salads from Boston Bay at work turns out to be a god send because they label each individual meal with a sticker with the foods name clearly printed on it, no BS guessing games on who's food is who's. Nobody has time for that. Plus their grinders, salads, and various other products tend to be pretty good with speedy delivery although they've had the occasional hiccups. Dining in changed my perspective of Boston Bay, the food they serve at the table actually sometimes turns out to be a better quality version of their takeout, to the point where it feels that they should be a dine in restaurant instead of just selling themselves as a pizza joint. Do yourself a favor Boston Bay and advertise your dine in service, it'll make you an easy 4 star Chicopee location. But at the end of the day when you put pizza in your name and there's better pizza in town, you're just limiting yourself. Do better Boston bay, I have faith in you. read more

I have been ordering pizza here in chicopee for a few years now since moving to the area. I am a huge broccoli and chicken pizza fan so we decided to try Boston Bay out and it is the BEST pizza I have ever had!! We also enjoy the california chicken bacon bbq pizza. The size is great and the price is worth every penny... better then the pizza chain in town who charges an arm and leg for crap... The service is great and we have never had an issue with any of the employees or delivery drivers. They are kind and on time if not early most times with drop off. I can only speak on their "specialty pizzas" but I highly suggest trying this place out!! Love it! read more

Quite frankly I'm perplexed as to why this place has negative reviews. I don't think for one minute this place tastes like digorno but it was amusing to read. I enjoy the New England classic combo and I always add bacon and sub the sausage for hamburger. I love how perfectly golden the crust is and that the bacon is crispy. They're also very generous with loading up the pizza with toppings. I don't have much negative to say about this place. The quality of the food is consistent and the prices are reasonable. They even have a rewards program that rewards you with free food from time to time. It's funny that right after I posted this review, I have an issue with the service. I informed them that the bacon I paid extra for was not on my pizza. The woman at the counter states she included it on the order and it should be there. The cook comes out from the back and insists he put on the pizza and it should be under the cheese, that this is a new way they make their pizzas now. I informed him that it's not on the pizza. Even if it was under the cheese, I should still be able to taste it which I don't. I told the cook, he could even come look if he wanted to. Instead, he goes back in the kitchen and dismisses me. Love love love! Awesome pizza, not like the typical thin, soggy, greasy pizzas you'll find from most of the family pizzerias in the area. A little light on sauce but that's how I like it. We've tried out most of the menu selections, from apps and salads to pizza and dinners and never had any complaints. Grilled chicken salad is my go-to when trying to be somewhat "healthy" - great portion of chicken breast and the salad greens and veggies are always fresh. In addition to their great food, the staff is fantastic. We go there on a semi-regular basis and one of the counter girls knows me by name when I walk in. I locked my keys in my (running!) car once and the employees couldn't have been nicer...they let me use their business phone multiple times (my cell was locked in the car as well) and one of the delivery drivers even offered to bring me to my home nearby to retrieve an extra key. One of the gentlemen whom I believe to be the owner even called a Chicopee police officer who he knows to see if there was anything that they could to to get me into my car while I waited for someone to come with my spare keys. We are from out of town and stopped on our way home to pick up dinner. We ordered $55 worth of food. Upon arrival the cashier (nice young lady) and one very young man in the kitchen were both wearing their face masks correctly (thank you for following appropriate COVID-19 precautions)! As for the other four cooks actually working in the kitchen cooking food, we were horrified to see how they were working! One older man had his mask hooked on his ears but strapped completely under his chin. Another middle-aged man had his facemask sitting under his upper lip (the top of his mask was sitting right in the crease between his upper and lower lips). The other two cooks both had their masks sitting well below their noses. We were sick to our stomach thinking that we never would have known this if we had the food delivered! We waited in line and when it was our turn we told the cashier that based on what we were seeing, we needed to cancel our order. All but one cook was breathing all over everybody's food and were not following any safety precautions during a pandemic. She entered the kitchen to tell the manager, who then instructed her how to handle the situation, yet not one of those cooks changed their behavior! We were in the restaurant for 15 minutes - between waiting in line and waiting to resolve the situation - and never did anyone adjust or fix their face masks. Never again!
