My fiance and I came here tonight since it was close to our hotel and had good reviews. We got a fried grouper sandwich, a grilled mahi mahi sandwich, a side salad and a small order of fries - all to go - with two beers white we waited. All in all, it ran us over $40. The sandwiches were small. Half the size of the Cuban sandwiches we got last night at Sandy's. The fried grouper was more breading than fish -- the fish was soo thin! The grilled mahi was definitely thicker and tasted fresh, but again, the whole sandwich was the size of half a sandwich from other places, comparatively. The fries were the best part of the meal. The salad was decent, but nothing I couldn't make out of some lettuce, 1/4 tomato and 1/8 yellow pepper for about $1.00. This will not be a stop or a recommended destination during our wedding next year. read more

Bo's is always a favorite of mine when in Key West. I was really surprised at how much busier they were this year than years past. It took us almost an hour to get our food today. Could've been due to a cruise ship being in port. The food was very good. My favorite is the shrimp basket with fries. Their key limeade was also very quenching after a morning of sightseeing. BO's serves up some pretty tasty food from their humble walk-up-and-order shack thing. OK, describing BO's is a little difficult, but let's just say they've gone all out to purposefully make the place look like a dump and they've succeeded on every level. This has to be the dumpiest looking non-dump of a restaurant I've ever seen. I was told beforehand that the grouper sandwich is the best in the world. I found it to be possibly the most expensive in the world at $18.50, but it wasn't that special of a sandwich. They said it was out of season, so that may have had something to do with the price. The key lime aide washed the sandwich down nicely. I would definitely come back to BO's, but I would get something a little less spendy next time. I was very skeptical at first because I had the famous Hogfish sandwich at the Hogfish Bar and Grill and I was sick for days. B.O.'s fish sandwich is completely different. The fish is so fresh and even if you get it fried, it manages to still be very light. I had the Mahi and my husband had the grouper. They were both excellent. The key lime mayo is also fantastic. If you love deep fried anything, this is the place if you're in Key West! Apparently this is a place to try when you're visiting. The first time in the Keys years ago I had to try their Conch Fritters. To be honest I thought they were ok. I had nothing else to compare them to but I still ate them and was satisfied. Well now it's years later and decided to eat here again but try something else. I ordered the Key West Shrimp Platter with fries and a side order of Fried Calamari. As expected, it's not a whole lot of shrimp but they were big and I was semi satisfied. I shared with my hubby and son so it was kind of small for the three of us with hearty appetites. By the time we got our order and ate, the lineup at the counter grew substantially so we didn't order anymore although we wanted to (my hubby was still hungry lol). So my two orders plus two soft drinks came up to about under $25 which was expected. To eat in Key West, expect to spend $$. All in all I would eat here again. Decided to give this place a try because a friend recommended it. While doing a ghost tour we passed by and it was hopping. We went for lunch the next day and had no idea what to expect. What an incredible experience!!! My wife ordered the cracked conch platter and I ordered the fried grouper sandwich. Not kidding! Best grouper sandwich I have ever eaten and I eat a lot of grouper sandwiches. Its what I order everywhere I go. It was so simple but so delicious. You can tell that it was fresh. Excellent light, crunchy, seasoned batter with a tomatoe, lettuce and tartar sauce. All served on delicious cuban bread. My wife loved her meal as well. The employee behind the counter came to ask us how our meal was and we told him it was excellent. He gave us the history of the place and was extremely friendly and helpful when ordering our food. What a great place to eat and a great story behind the restaurant. He explained their menu and the fresh products they make in house. BO used to be great when the original Owner ran it. Things have changed. I went to the counter and the guy was surly and unwelcoming to say the least. The food was ok, but not enough. My husband had the Shrimp platter. I didn't see a platter, I saw six infinitesimal shrimp on a styrofoam plate. My fish tacos were awful: a shovelful of coleslaw in the shells and a sprinkle of shredded cheddar made me wonder were the fish could be. It was hard to find, maybe half the size of a Gorton fish stick. There was another small pile of coleslaw as a side and a nip of guacamole, salsa and sour cream. The black beans and rice were good but felt like a sample. The limeade made me the angriest. I had to summon all my imagination to taste the lime and guess what? I didn't. read more

I enjoyed the band, the outdoor setting but I have had better fish sandwiches. I had the fried Mahi sandwich that came served on Cuban bread and with fries. I have never had Mahi fried I usually have it grilled or blackened. It was a nice piece of fish and fried perfectly but lacked flavor and seasoning. My friend ordered the fried grouper sandwich and a shrimp platter which came with beans and rice. I love rice and beans but these once again had no seasoning. The total for all was $56!! Unfortunately, the FN and the TC have turned this place into a tourist trap. I had the conch fritters and the grilled grouper sandwich. The conch fritters had more fillers than conch and were almost burnt on the outside. I came back to give the fritters a second chance but the result was the same. I was skeptical that it was more "manufactured" charm than genuine. Alas, I have to say that this was everyone's favorite food spot during our week stay in Key West. Service; well it is counter service, but during two stops here everyone we encountered was extremely nice. Food; we were here twice. My older daughter struck out other places but was VERY pleased with the shrimp skewer one night and the shrimp platter the next. It was the slaw-dog that won over my other daughter, fish tacos for my wife and I. Quality was great, portion sizes were generous, and prices reasonable. If I could redo any meals during the week, I would skip other places and have taken another meal at B O's! read more

Overcharge people and very rude about it when i said something. I Don't recommend this place seems to be a tourist trap. I bought a bottle of water and I was charged $2.65 for it. I thought it was expensive but whatever. I saw on the sign that they advertised bottled of water for $1.50. I said something and was told all soft drinks were $2.65. I explained that his sign says $1.50 as advertised. He argued with me instead of apologizing there was an error. I said that he lost at least $30 in a food order from me. He didn't care. This place reminded me of a food truck that broke down and built a mini restaurant around it. Loved it! Best hot dog ever! It is deep fried. Wow! Not breaded, just fried and served on Cuban bread. Wow is all I can say. Recommend this place! read more
