Irina was so nice. Took the time to answer all my curiosity questions. I'm a sucker for other cultures markets. It's like an amusement park for me. Ya know, like farmer's markets. How did I not know this existed? Been here a year and I drive past this plaza almost everyday. So many goodies--smoked fish, European breads (got the amber rye and sourdough-sooo good), deli meats, cheeses, desserts...definitely a happy discovery. The borsch coffee is delicious, excited to try the other drinks. Great place to fill a specialty gift basket or just chill outside and enjoy a drink.

    Herbal!! Love it!!

It's very Russian and Ukrainian and the environment where it's not like an overdone smile etc. but still polite and thorough. Prices are a little bit high but of course that's because you're getting things from out of the country. I think they're still really well priced for what I saw in there though especially since you're getting the authentic items and typically better ingredients as well. Super excited to be able to get some of their herbal products. Of course Russian Ukrainian tea is always a must! So I got some cheese puffs out of curiosity, a pastry and a cappuccino with hazelnut. I have to ask my old roommate what else I need to get so I sent a picture of some of the herbal products which I would trust for feeling better quickly if you're not! All in all this was a really cool experience and I hope that they have more prepared foods in the future. They are new so they still need to do pricing on all of the itemsand it would also be good if they had somebody there to assist with maybe items that Americans may not be used to if they're wanting that genre of customer. But all in all I really look forward to trying some of the prepared foods and I love seeing a European based store out here! I really want to point out the cleanliness of it! I think this is so spot on with Russian Ukrainian businesses. You can always expect the products and services to be top-notch quality and delivered in a clean and bright environment! That to me is so important especially when you are buying foods that are made out of packaging. Very happy for this place to be here!

Went for the first time today and bought a few items. When I got home, my kids tried some of the cookies. While I was sitting at the table reading the ingredients, I realized the product had been expired for a year. The store is small, so how is it possible not to be aware that items have been expired for that long? So please check your products before paying for them because they are pretty expensive but also you could get sick. Praying that my kids won't get sick from expired cookies.

Yummy nutty cheese. I love the labels and guessing where they're from

Super fun specialty market. I was enthralled going up & down every aisle looking at the items and reading the labels to see where they were from. Lots of international customers on a Saturday morning. If you could live on cheese & salami like I can then you'll love this place!!! Stop in and look around. You'll feel like you're in Eastern Europe!

Borsch & Beyond is delightful! Now we no longer need to drive to downtown Los Angeles to get our favorite Eastern European goodies! Staff is wonderfully old school, I love it! She is very well dressed like in the olden days and she carried herself with such dignity. What a breath of fresh air to experience this level of service again, thank you! Ambiance is beautifully peaceful, very clean. I'd give Borsch & Beyond 10 Stars ¹

Food: 5 Service: 5…read moreAmbiance: 5 Hidden gem alert! Tucked into an unassuming strip mall, you would never guess such a sexy, sophisticated spot is sitting right in the middle of it all. From the moment we walked into Fugghedabout, we were stunned. The space is dark, sultry, lightly dimmed, and incredibly chic, something you'd never expect here. It has a very grown up, intimate vibe (21+ only), perfect for date night or a night out with friends. We were lucky enough to visit on a night with live music (they have it Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays), and it completely set the mood. Even though it wasn't very busy, the energy was wonderful and the music was excellent. Service was top notch. Meghan was fantastic, friendly, attentive, accommodating, and so helpful throughout the meal. Faith, the owner, also stopped by several times to check on us, which earned major points. Such a sweet touch and much appreciated. Now the food... wow. We started with the seared scallop special topped with caviar, and it was outstanding, perfectly cooked, with the caviar adding just the right touch of saltiness. Honestly, we wanted to order more. The hot goat cheese with hot honey appetizer was delicious and so comforting. Definitely get extra bread, you'll want it. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we tried the taco trio with chicken, steak, and shrimp. The steak and shrimp were standouts. The chicken was slightly dry, but overall we really enjoyed them. And the biggest surprise of the night was the shrimp and sausage skillet. Absolutely incredible. So flavorful and rich, and again we needed more bread to soak up every bit of that delicious sauce. We also ordered the crème brûlée for dessert, which was good. The sugar topping was slightly thick, and I'll admit I'm a bit of a dessert snob, so while we enjoyed it, the meal itself was really the shining star of the night. I'm already dreaming about my next visit. I was genuinely impressed by everything, service, ambiance, food, and live music. This place is a whole vibe. Five stars all the way. Highly recommend for anyone looking for amazing food in a sultry, intimate setting. I've already recommended it to several friends. Thank you Meghan and Faith for such a great night. We'll definitely be back!

Imagine an elegant Wine Bar with dim lighting, an Old Skool atmosphere, and a wine list and menu of entrees and appetizers that will challenge any palate, compliments of Chef Orquedea. It was our first visit, arriving just as they opened, and having the whole romantic, classy speakeasy all to ourselves, our server Megan, made us feel right at home. Ensuring we received a little history about the establishment, the day's specials, and what some of their customers' favorites. To begin the experience, we received complimentary glasses of sparkling wine in celebration of their one-year anniversary, which was a nice touch. After a brief moment, we settled on sausage and three-cheese skillet appetizers with a house baguette. The two dishes arrived piping hot, gooey, and enticing! Amazingly delicious to say the least! Kudos to their place settings, glassware, and cloth napkins. Our selected wine was excellent as well, and the selection is very worldly and admirable. THIS is my favorite date place in the area!!! Chill, fashionable, comfortable seating, gorgeous bar, soft music in the background allowing for conversation, and the restroom provides a pleasant surprise as well. Hours of operation hover around Happy Hour and dinner, closing at 9 PM on weekdays and 10 pm on Friday and Saturday. Looking forward to enjoying their live entertainment and themed events in the future, at which time I will follow up on this review. Thank you, Faith, Megan & Orquedea for a wonderful time.--

A butcher will appear more expensive but when you factor in the waste from pretty much all the grocery stores and big box stores you are actually saving money. They are willing to take the time to help you decide on the best meats and I was really impressed. No more fatty steaks and meat that turned into chocking hazards when cooked, everything we have purchased from this shop is excellent. The quality and freshness of their steaks are phenomenal! I have always been a good cook but with finding this shop it turned up my cooking to a whole new level. It's a good feeling to know that the owners and everyone working here are very honest and friendly. I'm picky about my food and this shop truly is a cut above.

From a food science perspective, the curation here is impeccable. I spent a solid ten minutes just admiring the turgidity of the organic Granny Smith apples ($2.99/lb)--crisp, tart, and bursting with malic acid potential. But the real magic? The Hulas coconuts and the bulk bins! There is something deeply primal and satisfying about scooping your own trail mix or pouring shimmering olive oil from a stainless steel fustifermo. The salad and hot bars are a triumph of texture and temperature control. I built a plate that was less a "meal" and more a mosaic of flavors. There is a cute little shop attached to the sanctuary, where you can buy their handmade truffle chocolates which are so delicious (coming from someone who isn't a fan of truffle chocolates), fresh farm eggs, honey, and other delicacies. With your zoo "ticket" you get 2 free samples of their chocolates and a hefty bag of feed for the animals. The animals are mostly in their own pens, with some together. There's even a couple of the pigs you'll find out of pens, just hanging out on the property, laying beside the building.
