Iced cafe con leche
Rosy F.

Cute spot right on Sunset Drive with colorful, artistic walls and a fun, vibrant atmosphere. I had the iced coffee, which was good, and they have a nice variety of sweets and food options. There's plenty of indoor seating, plus a few outdoor tables. A nice little place to stop by and get a quick bite.

Pan con Lechón

I've ordered from these folks several times based on their ubereats specials. I will say their Lechón Pixa & their Vaca Frita bowl are the best items they offer. The Vaca Frita bowl comes with a good portion of meat and it's VERY well seasoned. The maduros could be thinner and crunchier but I allow it because the portions at those prices are certainly worth ordering versus cooking. They're centrally located on LeJeune just north of Flagler in the Flagami/Airport area so it's a heavily traveled area yet the service is quick. They don't have the largest menu but they serve just enough to offer variety to all kinds of cravings. It's affordable and casual-just how I like it. I'd love it if the bacon on their sandwiches was just a bit crunchier but bacon is understandably a very particular food group which few have succeeded in perfecting.

Chicken sandwich

Was excited for a new place to open on South Miami, but it didn't last. My partner and I ordered the steak sandwich, which was barely enough steak to cover the bread. We both agreed the chicken club was the way to go. There was a good sized chicken breast. You may chalk this up to us being gringos, but there was a little too much oil on the bread. You can see the shine.

Stopped in while traveling through the area. I had the Cuban sandwich and plantains. The flavor was good, but not the best I've had for a Cuban. The servers were accommodating and the ambiance is more like a fast-food spot. Parking is a bit of a hassle and getting out of the lot frustrating. Overall it was a good lunch, I'd try it again...

What can I say - love the concept, love Manolo (minus the cigar). Went with my mom and sister as we were in the area. We wanted a quick breakfast. From the Ape outside to all the cool merchandise when you walk in, you can tell that they are all about that first impression. We got a tostadas, empanadas, coffee (Americano and cafe con leche), guava lemonade, empanadas (beef and chicken), croqueta de jamón and the star of the show - monkey bread! Everything was good with the exception of the beef empanada- didn't care for it.

Quesito, monkey bread and some good old coffee

Really cute spot. You can order from a small screen (like all places nowadays) nice music and ambiance, service was quick, menu was neatly presented and from coffee to monkey bread items were very tasty, not impressed with their regular quesitos but everything else was excellent.

Guava frita

Loved my experience at bored Cuban ! A very modern and artsy spot that is themed around a Cuban Ape from the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT. Excellent stop near the airport to get coffee and casual Cuban food. They have a diverse and delicious selection of coffees. The staff put together the coffees quickly and not only were they great to look at, they were delicious. We ordered the whipped coffee and brown shaken expresso. Highly recommended ! Ohh and the guava frita is also phenomenal ! Go and enjoy !

Pumpkin donut and Cuban Poptart

The food here is very impressive. There isn't much English here or around this area and the server's primarily speak Spanish so know basic Spanish . The Cuban poptart was a great idea the Atmosphere is very open and relaxed as they play old school hip hop music.

I love how you walk in and are immediately greeted by vibrant colors, art on the walls, and a fun layout the whole space just pops and feels inviting. It's modern yet welcoming, and definitely stands out from your typical café setup. I also really liked how they offer both in-person service and the option to order from a screen super convenient depending on your mood. Whether you're in the mood for a friendly chat or a quick grab-and-go, they've got you covered. Their baked goods all looked amazing fresh and beautifully displayed. I tried the empanadas, and while they were good and nicely seasoned, they weren't quite the standout I was expecting. Still, the flavors were enjoyable, and I'd definitely come back to try a few more items next time. Overall, it's a cool spot with great energy, solid food, and a unique concept that makes it worth checking out.

Pan con Lechon

After hearing so much hype about Bored Cuban, I was honestly disappointed. The food was mediocre at best, and the meat was tough, dry, and difficult to chew. Nothing I ordered stood out or made me feel like the restaurant deserved all the attention it gets. Based on the reviews and recommendations, I expected a memorable meal, but instead it was just average and overpriced for the quality. The experience simply did not live up to the reputation. There are plenty of other places in Miami serving better Cuban food with more flavor and better quality. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. And to top it off no one spoke English nor understood any English whatsoever witnessing a customer trying to order and no employee spoke nor understood what the customer was trying to order sadly we won't be returning ‍

Food was good! Love the decor. Service was pretty fast considering how busy it was on a Sunday morning. It was good! We got a couple of things to share (ropa vieja empanada, ham croquetas & banana bread) The whipped coffee with almond milk concept is cool just doesn't mix well. All the Cuban coffee stays on the top. Other than that, we'd come again

Mascot logo

Came here since it was on the way for a quick bite. It's a nice surprise! The place is decked out with graffiti sporting it's mascot which is basically a high monkey who I guess is supposed to be cuban. It's a big odd but as a cuban it's more silly than anything. You can order at the register or through a kiosk. We opted for the kiosk since it's our first time and we wanted to linger to stare at the menu. The kiosk is pretty cool but one froze up and restarted on us. We just made our way to the other to do our order. I got the hot honey pizza and my girlfriend got a vaca frita which comes with a sriracha ketchup and in a cuban bread with sweet plantains. She also got ape water which turned out to be 3.99 for tap water lol Im willing to forgive the 3.99 for tap water since the food overall was really great. I would get the pizza again and would like to try some other things on their menu. They also have trinkets involving their mascot for sale. Overall if you have the $$$ i recommend trying it at least once.

Cronut and Chocolate Chip Cookie
Raul J.

I've come here 3 times and each time has been disappointing. The first time I order a cortadito and that was just okay. The second time I ordered monkey bread and the taste was okay, but it was so stale, as if it had been sitting there all day. Today I ordered a cronut and a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was mediocre and the cronut tasted like absolutely nothing. It was almost impressively bland considering that it is caramelized and has powdered sugar on top. The lady that attended me today was nice but for the most part staff are unenthusiastic, both in their tone and demeanor. This place is always empty which I suppose I should take as a sign. I wish the silence that comes with the emptiness could be it's redeeming factor in that it would be a good place to study, but the seats are so stiff and uncomfortable that it's not even good for that.

Loved the Cuban sandwich, very authentic and good value. The Cuban pop tart is a great twist on a pastelito.

The shop is small with only the shared outdoor seating with other nearby restaurants. The Pan Con Bistec was very tasty and I liked the crispy bits inside. The flavor of the sauce could have been more pronounced but otherwise a really good sandwich. The Pan con Lechon was okay overall because it tasted very one note flavor and texture wise. The meat was moist and tender but I preferred the Bistec and the Cubano. They also provided a garlic dipping sauce which was very flavorful. However I felt that it overpowered a lot of the sandwich flavors. I also got the Mamey Batida which was smooth and subtle with its sweetness. My first time having a Batida and I really liked the consistency but will probably be choose a different flavor next time.

Living in Miami I knew service was going to be bad for the rest of the meal so for the first time ever we just got up and left. I left a 1 star review on Google Maps. The reason I'm leaving another one on Yelp is that they responded to the other review telling me to email them to continue the conversation. I did it 7 days ago and they completely ignored it which tracks at how customer service is handled here. I suspect the same thing will happen and I'll have to leave another review on a different platform. I think something happened at Cafe La Trova where they're now just some corporate entity that's cashing in on the goodwill of the brand but they will eventually run the business into the ground. No one is at home here.
