Bad costumer service. I went in because the Danner website directed me there. I found the boots with no help from the people working. The two employees working at the time were talking so I waited then finally had to interrupt them. I handed the boot to the kid working and before he retrieved the boots from the back he informed me the boots were 250+$, guess I looked like I couldn't afford it. After he brought me the boots I asked what kind these were?, he replied "Danners" like I asked a stupid Q. Absolutely love this place. The employees make sure to help you with anything and everything you need or if you have any questions. Bought a pair of their Justine boots and they even stretched them for free. Love those boots very comfortable. They also carry miss me jeans which are my fav. read more

While they may have the best price on boots I town they also have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life, and the manager is the root of all evils. Seriously she was extremely short with me when I asked questions and then gave me in accurate information. And then my boots fell apart within 30 days to which they said the only solution wa to send them back to the company which takes 6 weeks before you here oh yea you can have store credit for te value I your boots but by he way you bought $100 boots. That are. Going to fall apart that's why you have to buy the expensive boots. Well I'm sorry I actually go outside and do wlthinga that involve mu and dirt and I'm pretty sure your 300 fashion boots are not going to cut it... Just an all around bad experience. read more

This location provides the worst customer service! I went in to return a pair of boots, bought 10 days ago, and they refused! The boots were unworn because they were the wrong size- I couldn't even get my heel into them.The sales associate, Jordan, told me that, that was untrue because the seams were 'busted' and that they wouldn't be able to put them on the shelf for resale. When I told her to look at the bottom of the shoe- which were in perfect, unworn condition, she insisted that I could have worn them on the carpet. I was totally insulted and plan to call corporate. Not all Boot Barns are bad, but this location has the worst customer service I've ever encountered. read more

I've been here a few times and the staff have become a lot friendlier. There is a wide variety of boots. As well as hats and buckles and western knick knacks. They have a rewards program..... And you actually do get rewarded for using it. read more

I have always loved Boot Barn. I bought my first pair of boots at a location in Ventura when I graduated high school and had them for the better part of 10 years. I am a huge boot advocate and Boot Barn Advocate. I came to the store in Santa Rosa to buy my first pair since and the customer service could not have been better! The girl who helped me stayed by my side during my entire shopping experience offering insight and expertise to my choices. I finally decided on a gorgeous pair of Ariat booties in my size (7.5) in charcoal. I had picked them for work, and after my first shift I noticed that they were at least half a size too big. Devastated that my new investment was never going to fit me the way they needed too, I decided to chance a call at the store and see if there was any way to exchange them. They cave me a hopeful 'well of course! Bring them in, lets see what we can do' I held my breath, I wasnt expecting to be able to exchange them because I had already worn them once, but because I mostly walked on marble and carpet I hoped that maybe they were returnable. The girl at the counter looked them over 'maybe!' She had her manager look them over, and it was a go! "Because they havent been scuffed we can take them. It looks like you didnt even wear them! Youre in luck!" O my holy goodness!!! I was able to exchange them for the pair that fit, which of course was the wrong color, but the manager set me up with a polishing kit he put together for me that was about 10 bucks after tax. Boot Barn is the only place I'll shop for my western wear and boots :) This location didnt disappoint! Thank you so much!! read more

Good merchandise selection, but terribly rude employees. Staff was bad years ago, and it's even worse now.

I bought a pair of $200 Ariat boots. After about a year and only 30% wear one of the boot heels was completely caving in to one side making it very uncomfortable to use. Clearly a defect and not a wear issue as it was only affecting one boot. Ariat website says that they stand by their products to be free from defect and to call the authorized retailer for inspection and repair. Upon speaking with a very rude employee at Boot Barn they informed me they only warranty their boots for 30 days period. Furthermore they said they only expect a work boot to last for 6 months?! That is like saying a tire on your car will only last 6 months regardless of how much you use it. I have previously bought products at REI that have become defective after being purchased years ago and they return or exchange no questions asked. Will NEVER shop at Boot Barn again and would advise you to do the same. UPDATE: After speaking with the boot manufacturer Ariat they agreed to give me a new pair of boots. They had to work with Boot Barn and I they finally found someone helpful. Pearla helped facilitate the exchange and she was extremely helpful. Therefore I am changing my rating from 1 of 5 stars to 3 out of 5 stars. Its just too bad they weren't willing to work with me from the start they probably would have gotten two more stars if they didn't start the experience so rudely. read more

Had an awful experience in this store on Saturday. The girls working were harassing my spouse so hard he waited for me at the entrance only for the girls to continue to bother him when he clearly wasn't interested. Seems like the young ladies are only looking for men as i was not offered any assistance. Shame on you - i was ready to buy. Took my business elsewhere and i will not bother coming back. read more

i was on vacation in northern california and went looking for a cowboy hat. the prices at "boot barn" in santa rosa seemed higher than the prices at "saddles to boots" in sebastopol. but, i didn't feel like driving back to sebastopol since it was getting late. anyhoo, the santa rosa "boot barn" does have a good selection of hats. there are plenty of parking spaces. and the salesman who helped me was very knowledgeable and very courteous. read more

So far, so good! I've bought several hats, a pair of boots, some Stampede strings, and a few other items here! The Rewards program they offer works out well, gets me to buy more stuff than I really need, but that's the idea, right? I've not experienced any problem with customer service while shopping here, then again I don't require a lot of hand holding or need much assistance when I buy this kind of stuff. If the boots or hat fits, and I like it and how it's priced, I will buy it! They carry several brands of hats that are typically a good value, Master Hatters of Texas, Atwood and Bailey's are decent, serviceable hats priced accordingly. Maybe I've been fortunate regarding customer service here, since I've read some reviews that would suggest it's inconsistent. read more

Just leaving the Santa Rosa store and I have never felt so unwelcome. No greeting, no acknowledgment, and I was the only customer in the store. After browsing on my own for ten minutes, I accidentally found my size and an attractive boot so I went up to the front desk to ask for the mate. The young lady guided me to the mate and when I asked specifically about zippered ankle boots, she said there were none except a front zippered boot, hard to imagine what that boot would look like. Which turned out to not be true. I found an ankle side zipper Ariat boot. When I said my feet were wide, she offered no suggestions and walked away as quickly as she could. Without any further help, I found what I needed, and purchased the boots, again without any enthusiasm from the clerk. If I hadn't lost 5 pairs of boots in the fire and was desperate to purchase one replacement pair, I would have walked out to protest the sad state of customer service. read more

Ridiculously horrible customer service. The girls who work there seem annoyed that I had pulled so many jeans to try. Unfortunately, this is the only place that carries a large selection of riding jeans nearby. They didn't have any of my sizes, I'm a 1/2 x 32. While looking around, there was a gentleman at the counter and one of the girls noticed. She yelled somebody needs help at the counter and the other four girls from all over the store yelled "not it"! The last girl to yell apparently lost and had to go check him out. The other girls continue to chat about their drunken weekend and gossiped about other women. I ended up buying a pair of jeans anyways. The girl who checked me out was obviously impatient as she tapped her fingers on the counter and rudely moved me through the steps. Throughout my experience, a gentleman who seem to be an owner or manager did check in with me if I needed anything. He was very friendly but when he wasn't checking in with other women at the store, he was socializing with the other female employees. This is the first review of any place I have ever felt the need to write. I would rather drive a half hour out of my way in the other direction then come back here again. Extremely disappointing, especially since the horse industry is such a large and beautiful part of Sonoma County minus this store. read more
