I love Boot Barn! I come in pretty often for clothes and boots and have found some really cute things over time. I've always had good service, and today was no exception. I went in to exchange an item but didn't have my receipt. The staff was able to look me up by my phone number and noticed I was just outside the 30-day return window. Even so, they kindly let me check if they had the size I needed or offered store credit which they didn't have to do. Luckily, they had the size I needed! Hadn't had a pair of boots in about 10 years and I decided to change up my style a little bit. Came in here to check out the clothing and have always been helped promptly after entering the store. Seems almost every time I'm helped by a young lady named Amanda. She's very nice and helpful in finding some clothing I like. The site is very organized with where specific items can be found. I've found that the clothing here is priced very fair for the quality of clothing which is offered. Just 2 cons, is the limited dressing rooms and in the summer the AC needs to be cranked up a bit. I wish I could rate negative stars. This company place does not stand behind their products. I tried returning some jeans I bought that ripped shortly after purchasing them. The Girls at the counter even admitted that the jeans were bad and that alot of people were returning them. They offered an in store credit which was fine as I wanted to purchased another set of jeans they tried to give me 12 dollars on a 60 dollar pair of jeans. Staff are very obnoxious and rude. My kid asked me about a hat stretcher and this woman basically barged into our conversation and went on a tangent about how hat stretchers don't work and I don't know what I'm talking about. She was super condescending. I asked her what the purpose of a hat stretcher is and she said they don't do anything. A great place to purchase a few gifts to stash away for that unexpected last minute partyThe clothes, (obv the BOOTS), the jewelry, the hats, a lot of fun,unique, dazzling, and stylish western wear. Luxury, high end, casual, everything we hoped for- with the exception of pint sized clothes for the kids. They have the token "My first cowboy boots" (leather baby booties) and about 3 lousy souvenir looking hats. There are other Boot Barns with and adequate section for the little cowboys and cowgirls in your life, but this one isn't it. We went in to look for a white western shirt that would fit my husbands long arms. Kenna greeted us by asking if she could help us find something. We told her what we needed and for what occasion so she suggested two options while explaining the differences We went with her first suggestion as it fit nicely. The store had a great inventory and Kenna was a good representative of the company. She was such a great help and appreciated the great service. Just plain incompetence and a lack of knowledge. I use the twisted X store locator to show me places that sold twisted x in the location. The first place I called said they didn't carry that product. I called boot barn. They said yes we have several come on in when I came in, when I did, and then ask for the product they said all we don't have any of those here. Why couldn't they just tell me that on the phone call? I.e. incompetent and lack of knowledge don't waste your time even if you call them they'll waste your time. It's sad work standards you see these days when they can't even do the simplest things correctly. I am done with local businesses, online forever from now on. Save the gas time money. Racist weirdos. Came in tonight because it was the closest to our home and we usually give Elk Grove our service as they are always AMAZING. When we came in we were looking at hats when one of the workers came and asked if we needed anything (male name started with an M) we said we were just looking for waterproof for his boots and he took it upon himself to find us waterproof things for my husbands hat which was not what we were there for. When we found what we were looking for we waited for several minutes and then just walked up to the cashier who was doing nothing but putting security pins on the jeans that could have waited (Emily). The male came up and mentioned we were looking for hat waterproof stuff and we mentioned we in fact were not, that it was for my husbands boots and we had everything we needed on the counter. They continued to sit and talk and not help us. Still waiting and watching them do nothing Emily told us "just a moment" because her jeans were more important as my husband was grabbing his card to make it known we had been waiting to pay. We ended up walking out. I'll never come here again or spend my money. Elk Grove is absolutely beautiful, welcoming, and diverse. My husband, son and I all went here to purchase boots and needed a lot of help. My husband has flat/wide feet, mine are arched, and well my son is 6 months so the cuter the better lol. We walked in and Harrison offered to help us. He was so professional, patient, and very thorough. He took the time to educate us and make sure we were truly happy with our decision. I would've given this review 5 stars but Harrison's colleagues were godawful! We had one lady ask Harrison why he was in the woman's section when it was clear as day he was helping me after helping my husband, another ask 3 times when he was going to lunch in the middle of him talking to us, and another one through a tantrum at the register when the system was down....straight up 3 year old style tantrum! Lord bless this man for working with these woman. The manager needs to step in and have a come to Jesus meeting with their employees because they will lose a lot of business with that customer service. I'm sad to report a subpar review for Boot Barn. My husband had a terrible experience a couple weeks back and apparently, it's now my turn. I'm not sure if it's COVID related or what, however, there seems to be a lack a Grade A Customer Service. It's definitely not how it used to be when I worked in retail. Businesses used to go above and beyond for their customers, making transactions of any kind simple. Husband bought of pair of pants online. They delivered to our home and after trying them on, discovered they were too snug. Went in today to do a "simple" exchange. The very nice gal who helped me, went online, found the pants in his right size but I noticed the total was very high. When asked why the sales price isn't coming up the same as when my hubby purchased them, she went to go grab the Manager. Her response was, if the cost online has gone up, there's nothing she can do. We have to call the customer service number and ask them to help. I'm sorry, but that's not how I would've handled the situation. I would ensure my customer left with their exchange either in hand or with an expected delivery date. After we receive our pants, we are done with Boot Barn until they can come up with a better model for returns/exchanged for their customers. read more

I've luckily been able to find what I was looking for each visit on my own by looking around until I find it. The staff does nothing to engage customers and try to help, but they'll walk around like they're all very busy and offer no assistance. Majority of the leather belts I was interested in purchasing were already scratched, some beyond purchase. Unsure if floor inventory is all they have or there's a store room, but finding assistance to ask is very difficult. read more

The customer service at the Rocklin Boot Barn was rude and very unfriendly. They had a great selection of boots but if you are looking to get help with buying boots you will need to figure it out on your own! I placed an online transfer order and the employees said they could find them and didn't even try! I showed them my emails stating they had arrived at the store, a young girl said, "maybe they are over here" she finally found them. I asked where I could try them on she pointed and walked away! I visited your location today and had horrible experience the gal at the register was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. It appeared that she didn't even want to be there. Came in here the other day to return a pair of boots I ordered online that I didn't like. I knew I was an Ariat girl, so the kind employee (Brett) lead me to the Ariats. He showed me a few popular pairs and then left me alone. I can't stand when people hover over me while I'm trying things on, so I appreciated it. I was tossed up between a few pairs and that's when Jenna popped up and helped me with everything!! She even held my phone while I FaceTimed with a friend to help decide. She was amazing and made me feel great!! I walked out upgrading my boots to an even nicer pair. So, if you're confused on the right kind of boot or have any questions, I recommend asking Jenna. She'll lead you in the right direction!! Updated post: Today, I went back to return my boots ahhhhhgain (just cause I needed a size change) and I was treated just as kindly. Today I visited, for the first time,  the Boot Barn on Granite drive in Rocklin, California. There was zero customer service. When I first entered the store, I was not greeted. There were two employees at the front just talking to each other. I walked by another employee and she just looked the other way.  I was in the store for 10 minutes and not one employee even acknowledge my presence, not a single greeting or even eye contactt I walked out down the center isle past two employees and still not a word  to me to see if I needed any help. It is shame because it is a nice store, just absolutely no customer service.  There was no sense of urgency of the employees to even help the other two customers in the store. I have been retail management for over 30 years, owned 3 different businesses and I always focused on customer service. I will not return to this store and will tell everyone my experiences. My second trip here in the last 2 weeks. I purchased a pair of work boots that ended up hurting my feet. I brought back for an exchange with no problems. After initially reading some of the yelp reviews I was a little leery about the place, but no reason to be. Welcomed with hello's and smiles and all staff wore masks. Shailey and Jamie the 2 associates that helped me were amazing, and super helpful. Shailey helped me both times, she was awesome and super helpful with a continuous smile. I will be back for sure. Went in looking for a pair of boots I saw online and was helped by a fantastic gal by the name of Jackie. She was terrific. Not only did I find the boots I wanted, they were on sale too! She was very nice when I mentioned that I'm 'in between' sizes on clothes right now due to weight loss and she gave some great suggestions on items to look at. Both my husband and I had a great experience and wouldn't hesitate to come back. Everyone in there checked on us regulary to see if we had any questions--but they weren't pushy at all. This is very refreshing! I only took off one star because they are a bit hard to find just off the freeway and their main entrance is located towards the back of the lot and it was confusing--no signs out on the street to follow. read more

Pros: Customer Service, Veterans Discount, Selection Cons: Buisness Hours On July 15th, I stopped by Boot Barn in Rocklin for work boots. It was just before 10:00 AM, and I waited in my truck for a few minutes until they opened. There were already several customers waiting out front. The cashier greeted me when I entered the store. The manager was in the boot section and approached me to go over my needs and offer me choices from their current stock. He took me through the entire work boot section and explained the pros and cons of the various styles and offered his opinion about which styles and brands were the best options for my situation. He initially thought they only offered a few electric-hazard (EH) rated boots, but quickly found out that most of their work boots were EH rated. He continually brought me boots and listened to my feedback until we honed in on a sturdy pair of western-style Ariat work boots. He explained the specifics of that style to find me the perfect fit and helped me select socks suitable for use with those boots. I bought a pair of Georgia Boots from the same location several weeks prior that felt great in the store but ultimately did not offer enough support in the field. The manager offered to allow me to exchange the Georgia Boots for the Ariats as long as they were in reasonable condition. He held on to the Ariats for me for a couple of hours until I could make it back with my Georgia Boots. He approved the exchange and gave me a fifteen percent veterans discount on top of it. Overall, my experience at Boot Barn was completely satisfying. I arrived expecting to buy a new pair of boots to replace a poor purchase several weeks prior but ended up exchanging the old boots for new boots and receiving a discount on top of it. The manager was accommodating in ascertaining my needs and getting me exactly what I needed. If you're shopping for work boots, I highly recommend you go to Boot Barn in Rocklin. The reason I want to leave a review is bc the customer service was amazing, and I was in the store right at open.
