Went in to get some Irish setter ashbys for paving. They didn't have my size so the "sales" guy brings out some Redwing tread lites without asking me. Trying to up-sale me from the get go, and he didn't know what I even needed boots for. Great boot (have a pair already) but twice as much and not what I was looking for. Then he proceeds to try and sell me oils and cleaners before I even found a boot haha. Then tells me about the clothing sale. Bro, I don't need clothes, I came in for boots. High pressure sales. Very awkward especially with 2 other ladies there hovering and trying to tell him what else I should try. Most people have an idea of what they want. But maybe ask what the boots intended for and make recommendations. Don't just try to sell an expensive boot, know your customers and they'll keep coming back. Update: went back a few weeks later to the Father's Day sale. Went in to try the same boots on since they had the size I was looking for. They didn't fit. Another guy I've never seen before was in the parking lot was trying to help. I told him I was looking for a flat bottom wedge soft toe boot for paving. He then says ok, and gives me a pair of composite toe boots with a heel hahaha. They absolutely do not care what people are there for, only interested in making a sale. These boots started coming apart within the first week of wear. They told me bring the boots in to get repaired on a Wednesday. I get there and the lady working laughs and said she forgot the cobbler was on vacation. So, I bring them back a week later and come in on the date they say that they will be ready. Still not ready. Finally, they were "repaired". I go pick them up and all they did was super glue them back together where the seam came apart. The lady also told me to pay $50 to get the "tough toe" put on and that it would cover any of those seams and further keep them from coming apart. It didn't even cover the seam and the tough toe came off within the first day of wearing the boots in the office. I'm so disappointed I came here for quality and it's terrible. Their customer service is even worse. If you make the mistake of buying red wings, use another store. read more

I have 2 pairs of redwing boots from this store. I decided to take my boots in for resole, repair, and tough toe. I am happy with the resole, and the repair is hidden by the tough toe, but the tough toe looks awful. Turned a pair of nice looking work boots into a mess. Do Not get tough toe from them. Paid $50 for them to make my boots look like crap. Took a week longer than was told as well. Super dissapointed as I used to really like this store. Waiting on a response from redwing customer support. Hopefully they can go over it and make it look better as this boot is no longer made. The pictures really don't show how bad it is. read more

Redwing: arguable one of the best boot-makers in America. I have been a fan and consumer of various models for at least two decades. Redwing Store in Roseville: a misrepresentation of the timeless values Redwing is known for. Paid for an oil and resole. Boots were returned filthy. I've worn Redwing Boots for many years now and they are great. I had a pair of my work boots resoled here and they did a good job. I bough a new pair of nicer boots for causal outings. The lady said to get a smaller size because they will stretch, I agreed but after 1 day of wearing them they were painful to wear. I had the. Stretched and it didn't seem to do much. I asked to exchange them for a larger size. The managers response was so rude and aggressive that I would even suggest that. She said I had already worn them and they can't be exchanged. I asked about the fit guarantee and was told it didn't apply to the boots I purchased. I asked to talk to the manager and she said it was her. So I asked to speak with the owner, she told me the owner didn't handle customer complaints. The guy who was oiling my resoled boots said to just wear them, you'll have blisters for a month then they will be comfortable. The manager then said we didn't force you to buy them. The few customers in the store looked shocked. I grabbed the boot box and receipt. I left the store upset and barefoot. I called Redwing told them what happened, they are exchanging the boots for me. Great Boots but avoid this place like Covid 19! The other locations are much better. They need to get new people managing this place. read more

Walked in and from their website, it describes that someone will measure your foot and recommend a boot based on arch, size, and what you do. The woman who greeted us was nice, but would not measure/suggest. She told us to try on whatever felt comfortable. I mentioned about measuring and she replied that they could, but we could just try them on instead. When paying a hefty price for a pair of boots, some input would have been nice considering that they advertise assistance. Walked out and probably won't be back. read more

I had my old pair of Red Wings work boots whose soles were worn out. I wanted to resole them for safety reasons. The sales lady with the glasses advised me that they could be resoled with new soles provided by Red Wings and to be done by a contracted local shoe repair shop. After about wearing them 3-4 times, the sole started coming off. I paid $90.00 for the resole and this is what I got in return. They resoled one of the pair for free. And it came off again after wearing them 3 times. This is ridiculous. She was the one who gave me the advice that they were repairable, however had she not told me that I would have considered purchasing a new pair. I just lost $90.00 I could have used to buy a new pair of working shoes. I am considering filing a complaint with consumer affairs. Please do not patronize this business. read more

My work requires steel toe shoes. I had never had them before and chose a pair and they fit fine until the leather stretched. It was then I had to exchange them for a larger size and even though I had worn them the store was more than willing to trade them out. My job requires safety toe shoes. It is hard, as a woman, to find a safety toe shoe (in my size) in this area. I did a bit of research online to find shoes that I was interested in purchasing. My online search led me to Red Wing, with information about exactly what I was looking for. I approached the employee at Red Wing, and told her that I was required to wear safety toe shoes for work. She immediately mocked my profession, and my need for safety toe shoes (I don't write the employee handbook!). After the mocking, she proceeded to show me the (very small) collection of woman shoes they offered. We went around and around about a particular shoe being offered in another color (I had seen the product online, but she was adamant that I was incorrect). A simple look in the catalog in the store proved that I was correct. This store did not carry the color I came in for, did not have the shoe in safety toe in store, and she quoted me a price $20 more than the online price! When questioned about the price, she snorted and replied that those prices are meant for a different state... This employee was rude and condescending, making it a very uncomfortable and frustrating experience. read more

Hands down one of the WORST customer service experiences ever. The lady working the counter couldn't have been more rude, or unhelpful. I was there to purchase a work boot, they didn't have my size in stock. Not a problem as there are other store locations with stock. When she said I could order it at her store she then proceeded to say "it could be here in January due to back order, but I tell my customers 7-10 days anyways." So I asked, instead of her suggesting "is there any way to call and ask some of the local stores if they might have them in stock?" Her response, short and rude: "um, what stores" I obviously don't work at red wings and know what other stores are close by. Pretty sure that was a question for her, not me. She then called ONE store, said they had them. I drove down 25 mins to the store and they did not have them in stock. LUCKILY, the girl working at the Citrus Heights location was VERY friendly and helpful. And found the right pair at a store close by. I can't believe that the lady at Roseville has a job. I would recommend going to ANY OTHER red wing location besides this one. I never give one star, and to be honest I wouldn't even give it that. Terrible service Roseville red wings. Change your attitude- and try not to be so "annoyed" with customers spending $240 on work boots. read more

I was greeted the moment I walked in the door and immediately helped. She was more than happy to size me, bring out a number of sizes to test with my non-redwing insoles, and wait patiently while I paced around the store feeling out the shoes. She made sure to make me aware of the lace replacement and free polishing policy for all customers before I left.
