Highly recommend all of them: Bbq chicken flatbread - crispy thin crust, loaded with grilled white meat chicken, and yummy mozzarella. Yum! Cute rooftop bar near Bryant Park! The rooftop itself didn't seem to have too much of a view - when we visited in August 2025, there was scaffolding on the sides of the building and that obstructed what could have been views of the city. Even so, the rooftop itself was cute with couches, tables, plants decorated throughout. There was both an indoor and outdoor section, which was a plus. Ordered wine which was good - the menu itself seemed to have a solid selection of wine, beer, cocktails, etc. Service was good but not amazing. I went to drinks at Bookmarks last week with my mom. Bookmarks is located at the top of the Library hotel ,near the public library and bryant park. We were looking for something a little more low key while still being in midtown and Bookmarks was exactly what we were hoping to find. We arrived at 7:30 and were happy to see there was room for us despite not having a reservation in the busy December season. After reviewing the menu, we decided we wanted to try fun cocktails instead of wine. All the cocktails at Bookmarks are all book themed! I got the Gone with the Gin and my mom got the Spicy Romance. Neither of us loved our drinks but they were good enough and the environment was fun. We also got the truffle popcorn which was very rich and delicious. It came in a massive bowl and we almost couldn't finish the whole thing. I'm interested to give Bookmarks another try in the summer when the rooftop is open! read more

I have been coming to this bar for years as I used to find it one of Manhattan's best kept secrets. The ambiance is beautiful and the sweeping views of the city are off the chain. The menu (cocktails and food) are usually high quality. However last summer I met up here with an out of town friend and the service was abysmal. The wait staff added an extra drink to our bill and got into one of the party's faces when we asked a simple question about it. The staff immediately spoke with aggression and was uncomfortably close to us, and spoke to us in an inappropriate loud tone. The staff proceeded to mansplain what an "interrogation" was after we asked to please calm down while we attempted to resolve the situation. Never had ruder service. I can't think of a redeeming quality for this place. Don't go here, especially women who want to be treated with respect. I was there in the late afternoon yesterday with some coworkers and it was really not at all similar to myprevious experiences there. The service was pretty bad and slow, and got worse as the afternoon went on. I waited for over 40 minutes for a drink, and we had to ask our server multiple times about both drink and food orders. The elevator lets you out in the main bar area, with a large indoor space to the left, a small greenhouse style lounge to the right, and a small L-shaped outdoor roof space next to the lounge. The views are limited with the high walls and surrounding buildings, but it is still a nice escape. Crowd: Two big groups, but otherwise pretty empty. A calm, green oasis - there is an indoor glass-covered area, as well as an outdoor section. The ambiance is quiet and peaceful and - even when filled with people, it does not get noisy or overcrowded. The library-theme doesn't go to far to become kitschy, but rather lends to the quiet, refined atmosphere. Each of the cocktails is literary themed. I drop by on a cold Friday evening in March. What's going on with the weather these days? It was like 70 last week. Anyways, after the quick elevator ascent to the 14th floor, I arrive at Bookmarks. Pretty clever name actually considering it is a bar in a hotel called "The Library". The evidence is stacking up to support the argument that I'm either blind and/or retarded bc after walking in I completely missed the hostess by the bar. She offers us a seat in the back, we follow her through a room with a fireplace to the covered (bc it's cold AF) patio/rooftop area where she offered us the corner of a couch facing a bunch of other couches. A patron on one of these couches informs us half of the couch is taken. We elect to sit at the few seats of the bar the hostess also offers is. We walk back through the room with the fireplace to the bar near the entrance. Bar is full. Ok. We walk back through the room with the fireplace to the couch. Now we are informed the whole couch is taken. Another employee comes to offer us a recently vacated couch inside next to the fireplace. I didn't realize my run today was unnecessary with all of this exercise. We walk into the room with the fireplace and sit down on the couch. The fireplace has a real fire, quite cozy. Decor was really cool. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Cocktails are $16-$17, wine glasses are in the upper teens to 20s range, beers are around $10. I order pomegranate pear cocktail. We also order cheese plate. Drink was delicious. Cheese plate was fucking MASSIVE. Like gigantic wedges of cheese. My dinner that night legitimately consisted entirely of fucking cheese. Does my pancreas even produce enough lipase to emulsify all of that fat? Lack of any steatorrhea indicates that it does. I don't recommend googling steatorrhea. Lol now u can't help urself can u? Don't ask me what cheeses they were other than the easily identifiable Brie and bleu. I tried to do the bleu bc honestly I really do like it but I struggled with the image of hyphae in my head. The dangers of learning too much biology. (Joke credit to JK). Service was friendly but horrifically slow. I would say it took a minimum of 20 minutes to be offered another beverage after I finished my first one. This was really fucking annoying. The fresh air and views from the top of the Library Hotel made this a remarkable spot for work drinks. I had the Hemingway, a well mixed drink of rum, champagne, lime juice, and mint. Amusingly next to us was a stereotypical group of "ladies who lunch". A gaggle of well maintained Mrs. Robinsons gossiping away about their men, children, and wonderful (or not so wonderful) lives. It fit the scene quite well as the atmosphere felt somewhat society NY (read: stuffy). But before you attention deficit disordered young-ens out there write off Bookmarks as too staid, know the decked out cocktail waitresses with both their youth and attire can and will keep even the most soporific male patron from dosing. read more

The outdoor space was nice and we sat a little table by the corner. Drinks were really expensive for the quality. Also we got a flatbread and it was SO TINY and TERRIBLE. A lounge called Bookmarks in a hotel called the Library? Yeah, it's a little expected. To call this place a rooftop is a bit of a misnomer; it's mostly an interior space with an exposed patio area. Plus, it's only on the 14th floor, so there wasn't much of a view of anything other than into the windows of the neighboring buildings. On the plus side, during the colder months, the outdoor area is covered and space heaters provide some (uneven) warmth. The space is pretty small, but I'm sure it gets the job done as most of their patrons are probably just their hotel guests. The decor is sophisticated, but I feel they could do more to play up the book/library theme. My favorite area was by the fireplace, which combined with the dim lighting, made it very warm and cozy. My least favorite thing about this place was that the bathrooms are located up a flight of service stairs, which completely detract from the vibe. As for the drinks, they are expensive and not that great. I tried The Hemingway, Bookmarks' take on the mojito. It was strong, but the flavors were not very well-balanced. All in all, I'm glad I got to check out Bookmarks. It's worth a visit for a nightcap if you're staying in the hotel and don't want to travel far, but there are definitely better lounges and rooftops in the area. read more
