I recently went to Polly's for their speakeasy burlesque show "Ms. Adler Presents Burlesque." We had a fantastic time! The decor is absolutely stunning. We started the evening with a teapot cocktail which was cute & delicious! We had dinner while listening to live jazz on red banquets with portraits of gorgeous women lining the walls behind us. We were treated to one burlesque performance there and then made our way to the back room for the show, where we got a complimentary drink! The performers were lovely and engaging. It was a great evening and the whole experience had a perfect vintage vibe. Would recommend as a date night, entertaining guests, girls' night out, bachelorette party, birthday party and more! read more

Unsure what the target occasion is as the small tables + nooks fill most of the space + it's too loud + lively for comfortable conversation. Unfortunately bad service from our bartender, which I'm going to excuse as her being short-staffed + stressed. She walked away from us multiple times. 1st: after I asked a question + hesitated on my order. 2nd: after I placed my order, but before my friend, standing next to me, could ask her question. 3rd: after confirming I wanted to open a tab, but didn't wait for me to hand her a card. Also, my friend was split between 2 drinks, the bartender cut her off with her choice, provided no explanation, then switched her answer once learning my friend's preference. Finally, she also made a cocktail in ~10 secs + I'm not sure if it was a simple drink or if she rushed it. Hopefully it's better on a return visit. I discovered Polly's because I was having lunch with a friend at Tanner Smiths during the holidays before seeing a show nearby, and since they had to close the restaurant early for a holiday party, they invited us to take our drinks downstairs to Polly's to continue our conversation. Polly's is a whole vibe! The speakeasy energy really comes through in the decor and lighting! The drinks are delicious! My favorite drink there is the Banana Bread Martini, which is a variation on the espresso martini. Wow! It's of course sweeter, but it's bursting with flavor! Since that first time I went, I visited two other times, bringing two other groups of people, and the place has been crowded! The entrance is cool too! From outside, you have to walk down a set of stairs and then press a buzzer and wait to be buzzed in. It's all a vibe! If you're going to a performance at New York City Center or Carnegie Hall, stop by Polly's. It's worth the trip! read more

Very cool spot beneath Tanner Smith's. We had drinks and dinner down here. My wife had a burger and enjoyed it, and I had the grilled veggie burger. Unfortunately, the veggie burger didn't have the best flavor profiles as it was heavy on the beets. Also, the burger just literally fell apart, no firmness to it at all. Comes with a side of Housemade potato chips. We ordered a side of garlic truffle fries. They are hand cut, which is a big plus, but they lacked a lot on flavor. Overall, very enjoyable experience. And although my particular burger was not that great, I just think I made a bad choice on my entrée and would definitely give them another chance with the menu. Service was excellent. Cool ambiance, but some odd pictures on the wall that didn't fit. Also, I was told that this space was once the horse stables for the Singer family horses (Singer Sewing machines). read more

This was a fun experience! We walked right past it had to ask for where the entrance is because it's hidden. The vibes were amazing it was packed and the music was on point if you're in your 30s this spot is gonna make you want to go out dancing after because that's what happened with us. There's another room down the hall another bar not sure if for private events but we peeked in it loved it. We went upstairs and exit through a different restaurant/bar which was also unique looking and we want to try it out next time. Only giving 4 stars because although the drinks were strong they weren't really the best tasting. Any of them. But we would definitely come back! Polly's / Tanner Smith's have some fantastic new items on the menu! The Quesabirria tacos are crunchy on the outside with succulent and perfectly seasoned beef inside, and come with a delicious consommé to dip. The tiramisu truffles are an innovative spin on a classic dessert and don't run the risk of soggy lady finger's as they are made from a mousse rather than coming in the traditional layered version. Service remains as excellent as always and early on a Friday night it's also not too busy yet, though reservations do come in handy. read more

Located below Tanner Smith's, Polly's is a classy speakeasy. The decor was stunning! I love the theme of strong women and learning about the history of Polly Adler. The teapot cocktail special was great for two people to share. We had the porn star martini and it was so good! We split some good including the pretzel and everything was tasty. The bathrooms here are also stunning! I don't believe there is an ADA entrance to Polly's as I only saw a staircase leading to the entrance. Service was generally fine but they seemed to be in a rush despite an empty bar. Trying to take food off our table when we were still eating it. I'm all for attentive service but this was a bit too much on the other end. Would definitely come back though! read more

I came here with a friend and I was wowed by how beautiful this place is. This speakeasy was inspired by Madam Polly who had her own bordello in 1920s. They have ton of cute cocktails. I tried the pornstar martini that came in a tea pot. The martini was delicious but not very strong. I tried the wings and nachos, both were delicious and a very good portion. For dessert we shared the s''mores and it was gooey and delicious. This place is great for a girls night out or a romantic date night. read more

Im def coming back here, this place was super cool and unique and had perfect date night vibes I didnt get to try the food but man did everyone else's look delicious, the next time I come back it will def be for a late night snack! Only a drink and service review. Came here tonight with a friend to try out this speakeasy. Wasn't too busy at 5:30pm on a Tuesday but a lot of tables had the reserved signs on a bunch of tables because they had a group reservation for 9pm. Honestly, it was a little overrated. We had 3 drinks each on their specialty menu and they were all very sweet. Additionally we were trying to figure out our last drink and asked the waitress to come back in a few minutes but she had us waiting for 30 minutes before we gave up and went to the bar. We had even asked the bar back who was walking around to get her halfway through the wait. When my friend finally went to the bar, she came over and was very upset when I told her we just ordered at the bar. They share a food menu and the restrooms with tanner smiths upstairs. Came here yesterday (Saturday night) for my boyfriend's birthday with two other friends. The place is conveniently just steps away from the subway station and just downstairs from Tanner Smith's. Me and my boyfriend got there earlier and we sat at the bar after we're told that tables are given on a first come first serve basis and we should wait for the rest of the group to join us. We ordered a drink each and they were so good! When our friends got there I asked the hostess that we wanted a table and she put us on a waiting list (which was supposedly going to be one hour wait). She said I'd get a text message once the table was available, and that's where the first problem came: there's not much signal in this place. Thankfully the table was ready after about 15 minutes, but I was struggling to keep my phone in a place where I'd get signal. We sat down and ordered some food, and we asked specifically to bring the appetizers/small plates before the main. This didn't happen. They brought the burger and pizza before the other plates, and the waitress didn't even know (she came to ask us if we had received the other plates already). So we ended up having our mains before the starters. Not a big deal but we had specifically asked and this wasn't honored. Thankfully the food was very good! The table where we got sat was big enough to contain all the plates but we ended up being clumped up with the other tables, resulting in us having to walk under the table to be able to get out of our seats to use the restroom. Also we were under the music speaker so it was very loud. But this didn't kill the mood! The place is very cute with lots of pictures and art on the walls, dim lights and very good music. We also ordered the teacup cocktail which we were told would serve 2-3 people, but it resulted in us having two full cups each (8 cups in total!!) I have a feeling that they'd say this to make us order more than one, but whatever. This also happened with the smores, which was also very tasty and enough for all of us. The alcohol was also very good quality, we didn't wake up with a hangover even after five drinks each. It was a pleasant experience overall and I'll definitely go back to try more cocktails! read more

Came here after work after seeing amazing reviews from social media. The atmosphere and staff were amazing! The decor was top notch and the staff was attentive and quick. The drinks were creative and delicious and most came with their own experience as well. The food however was very disappointing. We started with the jerk oxtail arancini and it had no taste. For being a fusion food I was expecting to get flavors from both Jamaica and Italy but it was all around bland. Same for the chicken wings. We just stopped by for drinks but the staff, atmosphere and cocktails were AMAZING. They easily have the most complex assortment of scratch tinctures I've ever seen. No details are missed, from the specific types of ice used in the different cocktails (mine were a beautiful single sphere with orchids frozen inside) to the absolutely historically correct vessel they are served in. We love to seek out Speakeasies in every state/country we collectively visit, and this one def nailed it!! We were dressed for wandering around, not for this absolutely perfect date night spot and they made us feel right at home! From Josiah at the door understanding our need to NOT be seen as we felt under dressed getting us right to the bar (not hiding us in the Lou like I thought would happen) to Courtney being an absolutely charming and warm Bartender. Super knowledgeable and excellent with her craft and their very unique cocktail repertoire. She was helpful in narrowing it down and even told us what train to catch for our next stop. She also gave us a little history on Polly's (which WE LOVE). Its location was actually the original carriage house of the Singer Family (Sewing machines) and the bricks on the wall were from Jacky Onassis Quarry (did I google to verify- nope. Don't really care it's a great little history nugget to store away and research later). We ordered the "Salt & Pepper" and the "1920's Pornstar Martini" (full teapot) and were easily 2 of the best cocktails we've EVER HAD anywhere. Had we not already made dinner reservations, we would've stayed for dinner and tried more drinks. Highly recommend and will def be coming back on my next NYC trip! Polly's is a new speakeasy hidden beneath Tanner Smith's in midtown west. To enter you go through Polly's sitting room. Polly was a brothel owner in the 1920s. The entire place has stunning throwback era decor, 2 beautiful bars and plenty of space for drinks, cocktails & dinner. There's another hidden bar inside behind a bookshelf. What a great find! We were headed to Tanner Smith's and when we arrived, the bouncer said that there's a speakeasy downstairs called Polly's. We walked in and it is a really cute and cozy spot to settle in, have incredible cocktails, some good food and get great service. The seasoned tortilla chips were excellent (what is that seasoning? I want to buy it lol). I loved the mezcal inferno and I'm blanking on the drink my partner had, but I can say that we both loved the flavor. We tried to return again just this past holiday weekend, but they were, alas, closed! I'll be back for sure. read more
