Great vibes, equipment, and staff. You get the kind of personal attention that corporate sales people aren't capable of giving you.

Excellent place to shop for your music needs. Superb customer service. Wonderful repair techs. Awesome owner. I wouldn't shop anywhere else for my music wants or needs except Boogie Music. read more

Great experience at Boogie music. Brought in my guitar for a setup, and they did an awesome job. Met and chatted with the owner which is a great dude and very knowledgeable. Great turnaround and my guitar plays so much better now -- action feels smoother, stays in tune better, and it honestly plays so much better. Forget Bigbox stores. These guys are a small business and you can tell they care about quality work and making sure customers leave happy. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for guitar work or music gear. There's a reason they've been around for so long. read more

Boogie Music - Guitar that was set up - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Rude as can be. Was treated like a noob amateur when I have been in the business for over 30 years. Shame

I went to Boogie Music for the first time today and it was one of the better music store experiences I've had in my life. I seem to be searching for a guitar that doesn't exist but the staff really took their time and helped me narrow down what I'm looking for and even searched the internet for me. Bonus was I got to play an old parlor guitar from the 1930's and that was such a cool thing to do. They have a lot of unique things I've never seen before in other music stores. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Very helpful and friendly service. Honest and easy to deal with. They made renting to buy my daughter's instrument hassle free b

Been in a few times over the years to try and give them a few chances, but the older gentleman (owner) is very rude and cold. As soon as you walk in he's sizing you up and is very cold and rude the whole time. Makes you feel as if you don't belong there or you're bothering him. I do realize this store has been around for many years, but I don't know why the saltiness right off the bat. Only reason I gave 2 stars was because sometimes you can find a cool vintage piece, but you've gotta have thick skin to deal with them. Pass. read more

Boogie Music is the real thing. They have been here in Phoenix forever. And it has been a great store for all that time. Clint the owner is a great guy. I'm so happy that Clint Diffy and his family and the whole crew at Boogie Music have prevailed thru the test of time, with the big chain Music Stores trying to take over The Phoenix Metro Area. they did not. there's still a lot of cool Music stores all over the valley, but I think Boogie is the best! So there! read more

My teenage son wanted a drum kit, I was totally against the idea for obvious reasons. He was adamant and had received enough cash at Christmas to buy it himself. I'm for buying at a local than a big box so Boogie's was the first stop on our list. Easy to find in a north Phoenix strip mall. Place is very small but organized. We never really got to talk to anyone that day. Two men working but one looked like he was giving guitar lessons in the back and the other was occupied by a gentleman with a very young girl and they were asking a ton of questions. We browsed several minutes with my son deciding they didn't have what he was looking for. Even though we didn't purchase anything that day it's someplace I'd definitely go back to if looking for any type of musical equipment. Even though we didn't have much interaction with employees I could tell by the way both employees talked to those around them they are about superior customer service. We will return and from what I could see prices are competitive with big box retailers, used equipment even cheaper. read more

The employee I spoke with was so rude. He was an older gentleman with a terrible attitude. I came in and asked for help finding a particular cable that isn't super common. I didn't go in with high hopes of finding it but thought i would just see. I know I can get it online but wanted it sooner If possible. I showed the employee what I was using and he proceeded to ask me if people were really that stupid to use or make that product. Then proceeded to make me feel like I was some scumbag when I said I couldn't afford to buy a new 100 audio interface. He said "you really can't afford 100$" I will NEVER come back. read more

The old decrepit employees need to be put in a home already. They take out their frustration of not having a retirement on customers. Not my fault you're pushing 60 working a retail job. read more

Boogie Music is my go to for anything I need. Another musician introduced me to Boogie years ago when I needed a setup, and now they're the only ones I trust to work on my instruments. They've even been able to fix damage caused by luthiers from less reputable guitar shops. The employees are so kind and helpful, and they have been able to answer all of my questions over the years. I always check with them first when I'm replacing equipment or looking to buy a new instrument. read more

Boogie music has been around since I was in high-school, maybe even longer. I purchased my first and only used guitar from here. I was probably 20 or 21 years old. It was a pearl white BC Rich Gunslinger. It weighed more than me almost. Boogie Music has a special place in my heart. After meeting my husband and dating for a while I came back to Boogie Music to trade my guitar in for some new rack unit gear for him. I love listening to guitar, but didn't have enough interest to commit to invest time into really getting into it. Boogie was a hot spot in the music scene. A few of my friends in the scene had seen my guitar hanging for sale when I was done and got in touch with me letting me know. I had my first boyfriend and we were soon to be engaged and everyone was excited to come to the wedding. Good memories. To this day we refer them to friends and have shopped here for odds and ends. My husband is a pedal junkie and some of the oldies are goodies. read more

I may not be a consummate musician but I always enjoy stopping in at Boogie for any guitar needs I have. I just traded in my first Taylor guitar, originally purchased at Boogie for a new 724ce all Koa model. Clint and staff are always friendly and knowledgeable about everything they sell. It's a pleasure doing business with you. read more

I've been playing drums, guitar, bass and recently banjo for over twenty years. For most of my I have done my own strings and set ups. Wouldn't let anybody touch my gear. I've had work done on most all of my guitars, including setting up an old banjo I purchased. They do great work, as well as does everybody who works with them. Prices are fantastic whether you need a full set up or just a restring. They prefer to use the best in the industry, or kindly oblige to whatever suits your personal taste. They also do custom set ups as I asked for my banjo. I take all my stuff here as I don't trust easily. Also, being a drummer, I have bought several pedals, and even a Rolland e kit here and always love coming in to take a look. I moved into the area of boogie music about a year and a half ago, and to my delight they were still there, a strong personable family owned business. They somehow survived these times. Within the last ten years, I've watched all the small more personal music stores disappear and it pains me. I'd rather be stabbed in the eye than visit guitar center or buy online. Thank you guys, all of you at boogie. You know I'll see you soon. read more

One of the best music stores you can go to for all things musical. The staff is friendly, family oriented and have pride for their community. I went to their store after leaving another music store not too far from them. I wanted to trade in a few instruments I had to combine the money and upgrade to a great guitar. The other music store I went to, wouldn't even buy back their own guitar I purchased a few months earlier. I went to Boogie Music, explained what I wanted to do and worked with me to make my dream happen. They were fair, understanding and happy to help me. I walked out with a beautiful epiphone which I love!! This is my new music store from now on!! They go above and beyond to help and even work with the community to ensure kids have the right musical instruments for school when needed. I watched then help another customer who needed supplies for a class at their school!! That is what a community music store is all about. No more big chains for me. Thank you Boogie Music! read more

What a fabulous place. So much better than the big chains. Whether you are a musician or a beginner just wanting to get started, this is the place to go. GREAT, knowledgable staff. You can trust them to make sure you get the instrument/gear that really makes sense for you. read more

Can't say anything wrong about this place. I go in at least twice a month to get my acoustic restrung and have never had any issues. They also clean and tune my guitar every time. Price is fair and for the most part they work pretty fast. read more

I'm so glad to be working with the Boogie Music staff. I wanted to make sure I give my business to the right people, so I did some searching and it definitely seems that I've come to the right place. I really appreciate their professionalism and courtesy. It's so important to support local businesses and these guys are excellent. Thanks Clint for all your help! read more

The selection is pretty decent, but the workers are very rude. You're only a number at Boogie. They also won't let you try instruments, which every musician knows you should do before you buy. read more

What is it with music stores? This is the third music store I've been to that not only requires you to wear a mask but insists you use hand sanitizer! This is a small mom-and-pop music store. The selection of guitars, drums, and other musical instruments is very limited, although you can order it through them online. However, most of this problem is due to the limited availability from the major instrument manufacturers, so I really don't hold it against them. What I do hold against them is the sales person followed me around the store as if I was going to steal something. I walked in the "amp room" because I saw a Fender tube amp sitting on top of an 8 speaker (I think) box. It was huge and used. The salesman stood at the door while I was in there. Most of the stuff is used but you can place an order for new. I didn't see new amps, just used. I purchased a few nominal items and left even though I am looking for a power source for my effects pedal, but decided I'll get it online. It's the 4th or 5th time I've been there and haven't spent more that $50 collectively over the years. I guess I can use them for emergencies like strings and such. Too bad. I really wanted to support this store. read more

We rented a used clarinet for our child with Boogie Music for 6 months. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Returning the instrument was easy. The price to rent the instrument was also very affordable. read more

Knowledgeable staff was able to provide information and parts to fix my guitar that the other 2 big box guitar stores were not. In the future I will be shopping Boogie first! read more

The gentleman that's at the front desk is so kind, helpful, honest and knowledgeable. What a great experience we've had the 2 times that we've been in so far! This music store was a hidden gem as I did not know that it existed in my area I'm so glad that I found it! He takes his time to measure my daughter for her new violin while servicing the current violin with care I don't know an honest price- far beats the competition. They will have all of our business from now on. If you need any help with current instruments or new instruments or even rentals this is the place to go. read more

These guys are the best with service and a helping hand. Brent in repair is the best in town.

I was actually building my third acoustic guitar. I've been carpenter for 35 years and have worked with exotic woods my entire life. I was so excited to find a music store with an instrument repair service. Repairing instruments is not a career you'll get rich doing it's done for the love of being a true craftsman. I was elated at the idea of talking shop with someone to bounce ideas off of, share some secrets lol. What I got was the biggest bunch of mumbo jumbo Ive ever heard. I asked he he had any binding material for gutar building and was told I had no idea what I was doing and that if I used the wrong chemical it might react with another chemical that would cause a chain reaction and destroy the instrument. I should just let the pros handle it. I could not believe he just tried to sell me on the notion that I might possibly use the wrong glue and cause a reaction that might rip a hole I. time and space thus creating a black hole and destroy the universe. I was gonna buy strings to be nice but decided it best not to for fear I might buy the wrong kind and end all humanity. read more

Got lots of help with my guitar and helped me decide on what strings to choose open longer than any other place I've seen and great price!

Boogie Music staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Loved the pleasant experience of purchasing a guitar for 11 year old boy. Flexible with payment plan/layaway. Excellent prices. Stop by and check them out. read more

Took my son's clarinet here to have serviced n it was done in couple hours, the service was good n the staff was helpful. Store is small but had a lot of instruments and accessories also. The price was fairly decent. I'd come back! read more

Boogie Music - Fixed - Musical Instruments & Teachers Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

See all

I didn't think to write a review of Boogie Music until very recently, but figured better late than never. As a band geek for many, many years, this was a favorite place to go for all my band geek necessities. They always had what I needed, and they knew their shit. (A short history of my musical past: picked the alto sax as "my" instrument in 4th grade, was in all sorts of bands up until my freshman year in college, and after that kind of put it aside for a long time until recently.) It wasn't until about a year ago, that I actually needed to visit their store again. I was attempting to get back into playing my sax, but noticed that the pads on the keys had deteriorated. Age and the dry Phoenix climate had pretty much wrecked the leather. So, I was in need of getting them replaced. I shopped around, asking different music stores if they could do the repair and how much it would cost. (I knew it could end up costing a few hundred dollars.) In the end, Boogie got my business. I knew they'd be reliable and honest. And, I was right. I brought my sax in, and the person I spoke to looked at my sax and pointed out the problem pads. He didn't try to pressure me into getting all the pads replaced, but was respectful with my decision to just get the necessary ones replaced. He explained to me what they would do and answered any questions I had. The price was really reasonable, and they had it ready for me within a week. What's even better is they are a full-service music store. They've got it all and more! Guitars, amps, drums, band instruments, keyboards, DJ and sound equipment, sheet music, music lessons, and even the ability to rent equipment for big events. If you are ever in any need of anything music-related, definitely check out Boogie music. read more

This review is lonnnng overdue... My family, friends and I have been shopping at boogie music for years. From my snare drum rental close to 10 years ago to my last pair of drum sticks I purchased a week ago, boogie music has been great. The owner is usually there and has always came by himself to say hi or ask if i needed help. I was happy to see them at an outside event as well.. i got to spin their prize wheel and won a $50 gift card! They are very generous with giving back to their customers, matching competitors prices always and just overall providing great service. Their pricing is usually always less than the competition even though they are a smaller "local" type shop. Great selection. Everything you could need. And if something additional is wanted, ask them - they'll be happy to accommodate your needs. Keep up the great work read more

I took my Telecaster in to get set up. I could not be more satisfied with the action or the quality of the setup. The price was also more than reasonable. I will definitely continue to use Boogie music anytime I need to get an ax setup. read more

Our family has had a great musical relationship with Boogie Music for over 15 years. My son Matt took guitar lessons there, and over six years ago I started taking guitar lessons there also . What a great staff with decades of professional experience ! I have my guitars serviced there so I know it is done right. I buy all my incidentals there too. Always friendly, knowledgeable, and I have learned how to play guitar in my retirement years thanks to Reggie Chavez, who has been playing guitar professionally and teaching for years and years. He has a great attitude and is a very positive person. Thank you all ! read more

I brought in some of my used equipment to trade in for a brand new acoustic guitar. I got a fair deal out of some old soldiers that I haven't paid much attention to. Great vibe in the store. The staff was more than helpful and very nice, which is something you don't always get in a music store. Great local business well worth checking out. I'll be going back for any of my musical needs for sure. I absolutely love my new guitar too! read more

The repairman, Brent Gutierrez, was recommended by a friend of my husband. We took the guitar all the way up there because he was the only person who came recommended for a neck reset. My husband is so thrilled with the results. He says it plays and actually sounds better than before! The shop owner is kind of a know it all putz, but Brent is the BOMB! His customer service was superb and his work spectacular. He deserves 6 stars! read more

My son has taken guitar lessons with Mike for 5 years. Great place. People are knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend.

My last stop after Guitar Center and Sam Ash. Why didn't I come here first? The guy here (and I'm sorry I don't recall his name) was great! Friendly, helpful and gave me a lot of helpful information. Even though I am having to order the banjo that I ultimately decided on, I will definitely bring it here for a professional set-up. I plan to take lessons here. Weekly 30 min lessons are only 90 buck/month. That's a deal! I will also buy all of my supplies, strings, pics, etc. from here. GREAT EXPERIENCE! read more
