    chicken and fries

Imagine eating portillos, now imagine eating portillos at a place called boobys. some would refer to this food as "the bomb" i would refer to it as "boobys chicken and fries". that cashier is definitely on something though. love the retro 2003 vibe, don't change boobys, don't change.

I like that I can walk in and order a Big Boob whenever I feel like it!

This place hits on every way. Soup, salads and appetizers all good. Their sandwiches are great. My friend Ralph Zaccariello used to tell me they had the best steak sandwich in Chicagoland. A little nicer than fast food. Still casual enough to stop in during a busy work day.

Standard looking suburban burger/beef place. The staff was straight forward, almost taciturn, which I've found to be pretty common in the Chicago area. Not rude, but not the most cheerful either. They have an impressive menu. They are known for their steak sandwich but I went with the Big C Burger (a Big Boob with cheese). The price is cheap but I ended up paying almost 16 bucks for fries and a drink with it. The burger is delicious. Grilled onions, sauce, slaw. And it's big! The fries were average frozen crinkle fries. Five stars for the burger, three for the fries, three for service. Four stars total because the burger was that darn good.

Enjoying life's sizzles with the best steak sandwich we ever tasted!! If you have not been to Booby's you need to drive over now! The service is kind and accommodating and the ambiance is a basic diner type feel!

Always liked patronising this resturant. It is basically a Mediterranean Greek resturant . You ordered at the counter. You may sit in and enjoy or take out. They do have a drive through to pick up honk or knock on the window . They do have gender neutral restrooms which I made a mistake on the check in They have 3 types of chicken Many salads Pastas Sandwich Italian faire also . I had gyros dinner choice of sides. I have enough for another meal ! Yum Thanks

The very best steak sandwich in the Chicagoland area. The restaurant is clean, the counter service is fast. There is a reason this place is so well known and popular. Another Chicagoland treasure.

Food came hot despite the snow and was delicious. Chicken was juicy and the steak sandwich was tender. We will order from them soon.

Just expect good food, fast. Their menu is simple: burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, fries, pop, and milkshakes. The burgers come in either a single, double, or triple stack, with cheese. I got the cheeseburger and hubby got the two on two (double stack) and we were satisfied with the burgers. It was simple, juicy, grilled and good. The whole family loved the fries. Service was pretty fast, we got ours in less than 10 minutes. Dining tables are available inside to eat, and also a few tables outside in the parking lot if you prefer the outdoors. If you are familiar with the movie The Sandlot, they have their pictures all over the walls. Not sure if they are directly affiliated with the movie, but it definitely brings back that nostalgia. Overall, great burger joint and I would come back again!

For those who don't know, Small Cheval is the fast casual version of Au Cheval which I've had the opportunity to try in NYC. There's plenty of locations throughout Chicago so definitely make it a stop when you're in town. Now is it as good as Au Cheval? Definitely not but at one-third of the price point, it's hard to complain. The beef patties are well-seasoned with crispy edges and just the right amount of fattiness. My main complaint is that there wasn't nearly enough dijonnaise sauce or pickles, making this pretty dry. The bun was nicely buttered and toasted but almost took away from the contents inside the burger. The Famous Fried Chicken Tenders were also a good try. I could tell the chicken was clean & high quality but there was some flavor I couldn't quite place which made it a bit off-putting; thankfully it wasn't super noticeable especially with the sauces. The Golden Fries were delicious and paired well with the burger & tenders! Even the Cookies & Cream Milkshake was solid! Classic milkshake with a good balance of creaminess, sweetness, and texture from the cookie bits. The interior was also bright, spacious, and comfortable! All in all, really solid try!

It's like going to a burger place with a bar inside. I would also have to add with a side of a malt shop thrown in. The lady who took our order was very friendly. Both her and the guy making the shakes seemed competent and efficient. They were both just over worked. There was a rush when we came in so it put them behind. Everything was in good repair. There was no damage to the seats and tables and for the most part they were clean. The things that didn't work for me were the possible understaffing, and the lack of a good onion. I asked for raw onion on my burger. I inspected my burger for it and couldn't find it. So I asked for some more. She was very helpful and handed me a tiny container of minced onions. Apparently that's all they have. I do like a good slice of onion on my burger. If you're looking for a good quick bite to eat or a very tasty shake, this is a great choice! I would come back if the mood struck.

The bun was the first signal they knew what they were doing--lightly toasted, just enough structure to hold everything together without stealing attention. Then came the patty: thick, juicy, with that perfect sear that gives you a bit of crisp before it melts into richness. But the real centerpiece? The fried egg. Perfectly cooked--edges slightly crisp, yolk still runny. The moment you bite in, it breaks and seeps into the meat, turning each bite into something borderline indulgent. It doesn't overpower the burger; it elevates it, adding a creamy texture that balances the salt and char of the beef. The toppings were minimal but intentional--fresh lettuce for crunch, a slice of tomato for brightness, and just enough sauce to tie it all together without making a mess. It's the kind of burger that makes you slow down halfway through, not because you're full, but because you realize it deserves your full attention. Messy in the best way, rich without being overwhelming, and anchored by that fried egg that takes it from good to unforgettable.

After looking over the menu, I had it narrowed down to a couple of burgers, then the lady told me about the Burger of the Month named "Good Night Irene" which has a panko breaded crab cake with pico de gallo and a spicy remoulade on top of half pound in-house chuck and pork belly blend burger patty. Thats all I needed to hear, so I order the burger and the garlic Parmesan fries. While I waited for my food, I noticed how cool the place was. Rock and Roll memorabilia all through the restaurant. They had a Heart concert playing on the screens. Even the bathroom had rock and roll quotes on the walls. I received my food and after the first bite I was in burger nirvana. The crab cake was crisp and seasoned well. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium. They combined for one hell of a delicious bite. The remoulade and pico de gallo had a nice zip that pulled the entire burger together. The garlic Parmesan fries were crisp and fluffy with just the right amount of garlic and Parmesan. My food also came with a delicious Almost Famous butter cookie. It would have been awesome with a milkshake. They have milkshakes on the menu, but I didn't order one. At the end of my meal I had to tell the gentleman behind the counter that it was an awesome burger. All in all, great burger, great service, great music and a great vibe. The walls are covered with rockstar photos and they play good music. They also have music trivia cards on each table so you can play with your friends/family. It felt like stepping into a tribute to rock and roll while enjoying some excellent food. Whether you're a music lover or just someone looking for a unique dining experience, this place delivers on all fronts. The service was also fantastic because the workers were friendly and quick, which made the experience even better. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu!
