I wish I could choose more than 5 stars! This place is amazing, I will be returning all the time. My fiancé and I just enjoyed the most amazing sandwich: their ahi tuna sandwich, it was fantastic! Also, I had the bonu burrito which was also very good ( fish, avocado , rice, vegis, etc). Overall, the food was healthy and fresh and very good. The price was just right and the service was great. I've visited several times & everytime the food was great. In the past, I've ordered fish tacos, the falafel wrap & kolaches (their specialty, a little tart filled with cheese & toppings). It was extremely tasty and the photos Yelp posted don't do it justice. The sandwich comes with chunks of spicy chicken, very tasty, moist. Comes on a long Italian roll, which was very Fresh. We tried Bonu Cafe for the first time on Father's Day. It was clean and quiet and very friendly. The food is incredible. I had the falafel wrap, which was delicious. There were several vegetarian options to choose from. The rest of my family had the Bonu burrito grande with grilled fish (amazingly good), a signature salad with fresh fruit and the hot and spicy chicken sandwich. We finished with a plate of fruit Kolaches, small circles of sweet doing topped with fruit and cream brought hot to the table. Everything was made fresh and was delicious. It turned out to be the perfect lunch for our Father's Day celebration. This is a small, locally owned place that has been open for 4 years. We've been meaning to come here for for quite some time and finally did. We were very happy with the food and the friendly service. This place serves fresh & delicious Mediterranean food as well as tasty burgers, sandwiches, tacos, kabobs, wraps, etc. The folks are very friendly & the place very pleasant! My favorite is chicken tacos with three yummy tacos and salad or fries. They have a delicious European pastry called Kolaches which holds a piece of fruit, cheese or meat. Cute, cozy atmosphere with friendly service. You walk up to the counter to order your meal and then find a seat. It is smaller than I expected but it was very nice to just go in and not have to wait. We expected it to be crowded too. Prices are very reasonable! The kolache is their specialty which is a danish filled with egg, meats and Or fruit. (it closes at 3pm, btw, something we were not aware of at the time) The staff was really rude and impatient and kept glaring at us and rushed us to make a decision. I asked if I could order the Quinoa Banana Pancakes, and they told me "we don't have that." My second choice was the black bean soup, and they told me "we don't have that either." Whenever I come back home from college, to eat at this place is a must. It is honestly the best cafe I've ever been to. I usually get the falafel wraps, and not only are the falafels cooked perfectly, but I always get a very generous portion size. For the price, it really is worth it. The boss and I made visits to BCE on successive Saturdays, and enjoyed the fare. The boss chose a simple burger on both occassions, and was very pleased to find that the accompanying lettuce was sufficient to wrap the burger (she cannot go the bun route due to celiac disease.) She thoroughly enjoyed the burger and the the $1 side of fries- a fairly enormous mound of potato goodness. I went the fish taco route on the first trip- grilled mahi mahi (I believe) with cabbage slaw and a chipotle cream sauce on the side. This fish taco wouldn't be confused with the best of San Diego or Oceanside, but was definitle a terrific taco for the East Coast. And the order included 3 tacos. Definitely a good buy. I went with the Cali BLT burger on visit two, and was very pleased with that, as well. The 5-star rating is recognition of how well Bonu Cafe Express does what sets out to do. This is by far one of the best restaurants featuring Mediterranean dishes in Chester County. The food is high quality and always made to order with the freshest ingredients! This place is a hidden gem. I have been lucky enough to find it from almost the beginning. Everything I have ever tried here was delicious and worthy of mention. Every single last friend I have introduced to this place has mentioned that they must bring so and so back to eat. This has never happened to me at any other establishment. All the food is so fresh and the price beyond reasonable. To this complete cheapo this is a WIN! Kolaches - I have tried every single last one. These are great for snacks or to fill out a meal. All of them are delicious. Just note there are onions in the veggie on (my system objects, but I still eat them sometimes. Yes, they are that delicious). I particularly care for the blueberry, which has a cream in it, and tastes almost like a pastry blueberry cheesecake. Other of my friends particularly liked the pepperoni pizza one. The Chicken florentine sandwich is amazing. The chicken breast is SO tender (yes, chicken breast is TENDER). And the fries and or salad that comes with it is delicious. The fries are one of the best in the area. They look commonplace, but they are fried just right. The salad is always very fresh. The house salad dressing is out of this world. It is a like a shallot vinagrette. There are other options, but if you can do the house vinagrette - do it! One new item on the menu is their Lamb Koobidah (sp?). yes, Yes, YES! Is all I can say. The basmati rice is make perfectly, and lamb tender. I believe you can get it as a kabob type Lamb or cube type lamb. You cannot go wrong either way. And it comes with a salad. I am drooling now and must finish this quick and go order some. :p The BIG news is that I heard from the owner that they are going to start a new dinner menu. Given how amazing lunch is, I cannot wait to eat through the whole dinner menu! Ok, speaking of which, away to Bonu's for dinner, now that I have made myself incredibly hungry. ummm YUM! From the coffee to the wide array of egg dishes, I cannot say enough about the top quality of each item we ordered. After looking a the menu, I decided that I must return for dinner. The middle eastern items alone are enticing enough to lure me back. If you are not sure about the middle eastern items, there is a wide array of other dishes. Sorry Bijan 3 stars because breakfast is not always the best. Eggs are seriously over cooked. Scrambled eggs and omlets should not be browned. Home fries are under cooked. Home fries need to be brown and crispy. This is clearly the case of the cook trying to imitate American dishes that he doesn't eat himself. Other items are good, chicken fingers are great, burgers are great also. Kebobs should be better considering that kebobs are a native item for the owner. Very friendly and helpful staff. read more
