I can't even begin to state how happy I am to have found Bonsai Green Cleaning which is owned and operated by a lovely young couple, Armond and Sarah. It's not always easy to find a good cleaning company, but also one that uses verifiably toxin-free cleaning products. Not only do they do both with flying colors, but they go far, far above and beyond. They are hardworking, professional and reliable. They always arrive on time and with a smile on their face. I originally found them through a Groupon last October, but have been using them monthly since. They do a great job cleaning and honestly care about the quality of their work and making sure I'm completely satisfied. I can't recommend them more highly!! If you're looking for trustworthy cleaners, that won't contaminate your home with toxins and do a great job too, do yourself a favor and try them out. You won't be disappointed! PS-- I wrote this review then saw that there have been a few other not-so-positive reviews. I wanted to add that I feel they offer me a GREAT price and never once in the last 7 months that I have been using them did I feel they were attempting to be unfair at any time. I have small two bedroom townhouse and I paid $375 for want I thought would be a detailed deep cleaning. I ceiling fans were no dusted, my baseboards were not dusted and my walls were not wiped. All of which they claimed was included. They a piece of paper under my couch that if I could see then they saw after I followed their directions to move the couch from the wall. my decorative blanket was balled up and left on my couch. They claim they only do the front of refrigerator but did do the side of the fridge doors. Way too much money for a gross inattention to detail. Never using them again. This business is not reliable and the cleaning price quoted misrepresents what they actually demand once they arrive and begin to clean. Beware: they bait and switch in pricing upon arrival. The owners will harass you in lengthy emails that the price quoted is for a general clean of one bedroom and wipe down. To straighten up or clean more than one bathroom is a "deep clean." You will be e-billed additionally afterwards (especially if not at home during the cleaning). Then, you will receive multiple calls, emails and bill alerts to your email address and phone demanding payment for the additional service -- even if you described your home, needs and requests denying such. Beware also of scheduling: a fire prevented them from getting to your home; a mixup in schedule or an accident. Basic assessment: - Not reliable - Sketchy on price quoted vs. additional billing - Argumentative - Abusive of phone number and email - Oh, and your home may show up in their ads without your consent. On July 16th Bonsai Green was scheduled to clean my home. I texted them to see if they were still coming because I had not heard from them. They called and said they had been in an accident and could not make it. Three days later they rescheduled for the following Monday, July 23rd. On July 23rd I again sent a text to make sure they would be servicing my home. I received a call saying their apartment flooded and they needed to reschedule. At this point my home if pretty dirty so I had to buy cleaning supplies and clean it myself. It wasn't a big deal but I did ask for a refund via email. No one responded to my email. I never rescheduled the appointment because at that point the cleaning company was unreliable. I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Bonsai is fighting the dispute even tho I was within my rights to request a refund and my home was not cleaned by them. The behavior is unethical and fraudulent. They have similar reviews on Groupon. Go with another cleaning company if you want your home cleaned by a company you can rely on. Update: Bonsai green continues to fight with my credit card company although they did not clean my home and I was within the guidelines of their written policy to ask for a refund. They also stated on yelp they thought they had given me a refund. True scammers! This has been going on since July 25th. See email from credit card company. I was looking to have the house cleaned before an annual event that my husband and I host and was BEYOND pleasantly surprised! When I walked into the house, I swear... it was cleaner than it was when we visited on the open house before purchasing the home. The products are all natural and the scent was clean and crisp and not overwhelming... I am a migraine sufferer, so, some artificial scents can set off a headache quickly. Thankfully, the opposite happened here. I was at ease and calm when I looked around and felt my house truly feel like a comfortable home!! The floors sparkled and a bathtub that hasn't been totally clear of mildew in YEARS was scrubbed totally clean! I can't say enough wonderful things about bonsai!! NEVER buy a Groupon from these people. I bought a "full house cleaning" for 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. My house isn't filthy, I just have a 5 month old baby and decided to get some help after a medical incident. They tried to force me to pay more for a "deep clean" since I hadn't had a professional clean in the last 4 weeks. Then, I was 1 MILE outside their service area and they wanted more money for that. Total scam. I cancelled the groupon and will never give them my business. I just needed a light clean and to reduce stress in my life and they were horrible and greedy. read more

My experience with the team was very good. The house smelled great and they were both extremely pleasant. They took their time being very thorough. Do not waste your money for housecleaning from Bonsai Green Cleaning. From what I can tell, they are scammers. They were two hours late for their appointment, and they did not inform me that they were going to be late. I called to get that information! Also, from what I could gather, they were cleaning someone else's home when they were supposed to be cleaning mine that morning. Once they arrived at my home, they decided they would not be able to clean it, which no other company has ever done before. In fact, I had another green cleaning service come to do housework in the recent past, and they did a great job and there were not any issues! I have tried repeatedly to get a credit or refund from Groupon for this failed housecleaning effort, but they have refused me each time. read more

They were nearly 2 hours late to my home, and after taking nearly two hours to clean my basement apartment (not that big!) and only did a fair job in cleaning. I found a few pieces of trash on the carpet, they forgot to put my rugs back at the sink and in the bathroom, and they left a full sink of dishes (apparently to have dishes washed is part of the "deep clean" that you have to pay more for, in addition to having them stack any items they find). Before scheduling with Bonsai Cleaning services, i did look up other green cleaning services available in Arlington areas and the price they offered and i would say with high notes that they do offer the best price for the services they are offering. For my 1st time having cleaning service called in order to do cleaning at my 2 bedroom and 2 bath apartment. As I am expecting mom I wanted the cleaning to be done with natural cleaning products only and they brought their own products. Armand & Sarah did a great job and spotless cleaning in the bedroom as well in bathroom. In our master bedroom bathroom we have standing shower with glass doors and i was so impressed with their cleaning that even afterwards the glass doors wont get foggy when we would take shower. I was so impressed with their service that I asked them if they provide their service in Sterling, VA areas as we had bought a townhouse recently and I wanted to come and do the move in cleaning. For some reason when I scheduled them for the townhouse cleaning there was still some work going on that day and they were not able to do the cleaning that day which was because of our fault hence their visit to our new place was wasted. But they were so accommodating that they came back to do the cleaning with included steam cleaning the hardwood floors and inside/outside of kitchen cabinets. I also scheduled them for moving out cleaning for our apartment as well which again I was totally impressed. Updating my review due to a decline in quality of service over the past few months. Cleaning became short (3 hours to less than 1-1/2 hours) and rushed and was evident. Hired a new team for 3 hours that said my home could not be cleaned in this amount of time due to the size. This new group cleaned like they were getting ready to be inspected! All for less that what I paid Bonsai. It's unfortunate as I really wanted to support Bonsai, but I think they got really busy and didn't really want my business any further. Bottom line: will they clean your home? Yes!!!! But don't expect the same level of service after a year! read more

The apartment smelled great after they cleaned and they are 100% a green cleaning company- they used vinegar, essential oils, steamers, paper towels, and homemade cleaners. They did a mostly good job cleaning- only complaint with the cleaning itself was the last room they cleaned (bedroom) they didn't do a good job vacuuming (left cat hair and strings all over the rugs; I had to shake the rugs and ask them to re-vacuum; they made a comment that "this is what happens when you have cats" to imply cat hair won't 100% be removed). They also likely won't move and clean under stuff unless you ask, which I believe is stated in the confirmation email so just be sure to ask when you want under stuff cleaned (e.g. under the rugs in the bedroom and living room, under bed). My biggest hesitancy recommending them is communication was very poor. I waited several days to get a confirmation email (after having paid and emailed the owner several times) for time of cleaning. After receiving confirmation email, the owner said the cleaners would arrive between 10-1030 am on day of cleaning. On the day of cleaning, I get a text at 9:14 am asking for the address and then at 9:16 a text saying "can we push back arrival time time till 2:00 -2:30 pm?" I had taken the morning off from work to accommodate the cleaning and to be told last minute they want to move the time is annoying. They ended up calling me at 9:36 am saying they are coming and would arrive at 10:50 am and be done w/ the cleaning by ~1250 pm. They arrived at 10:43 am and were finished at 1:05 pm (which made me an hour and a half late getting back to work, as I took work off for the original promised time of ~1030-1230; luckily I have an understanding boss. They did try to accommodate and see if they could come after I got done w/ work but I already had evening plans). The staff was kind and worked hard and made sure to give me a run down of the products I was smelling at the end of the cleaning. They also let me know that if I wanted future cleanings, since I also used a Groupon for this cleaning, that they have promo offers.
