My cup of tea... beautiful morning for a walking trail

That time again .... My cup of tea, trails, trails and trails, during spring time .... not hot, not rainy just perfect.... My other half and I decided that today was a perfect day to drop off the kids at school and go on a morning hike at their nearby trail... it has been so long that I didn't know how much I missed the hills, and the outdoors... It was pretty muddy, but weather was beautiful, very quiet just my husband and I on trail.... There is not much shade so honestly it isn't a trail you want to walk when it is extremely hot. The trail has 3 steep hills, but easy hills. It took us about an hour from start to finish, just don't forget your water!

    Lovely view

Our family really enjoyed this leisurely hike. We took Bonnie cove trail east but there are Many trail options to keep you occupied if you want a long walk. The east trail has a nice incline surrounded by lots of greenery but then all down hill on the way back. Plenty of free parking on st. Patrick's day but I imagine it gets full on a regular weekend morning. Overall lovely little Sunday morning hike adventure,

Found this convenient nearby trail. Normally you would think drive north to mountains for a hike so we were quite surprised to find this trail in the middle of the city. It's a fairly short and easy trail if you just want to get out for a little while. There is a parking lot. When we arrived it was pretty empty but soon after it got filled up pretty quickly. I noticed many people came with their dogs....and also noticed lots of dog poop along the trail so beware...watch where you step. The trail itself provides some view of the city and at some areas you can also see the mountain range. Certain areas of the trail you are quite close to the freeway so you will hear traffic. If you are looking mainly for some peace and quiet in nature this may not be the best trail for you.

Great hike for beginners. Me and the family went for walk on a Sunday morning. Lots of parking space. Picnic area but no shade if you want to eat at the benches they have. Not a lot of people there where it was crowded. Nice incline when you begin the hike up. Lots of furry little critters roaming around. Nice view when you reach the top. Great thing to do with kids to get them off there butts from playing video games. My kids liked it though. We'll probably be back.

Nice trail, short uphill hike to a lovely view of Glendora and the foothills. It was doggie-friendly and we didn't see anyone else up there, which was nice. It was hot and sunny, however, not any shade to speak of. Early morning is probably more comfortable. The trails are marked as well.

I love hiking up Bonnie Cove! This is such a nice place to hike when you don't feel like driving all the way up to the Azusa Canyons. I just wish there was more shade. It can get hot here, so make sure to have plenty of water and and bring a hat. There are paved roads and dirt trails here with sunflowers and wildlife.

    A beautiful log.

Good hike. Nice moderate workout on my legs. We just moved to the area and this hike is just a few block from my doorstep. Lots of different trail heads, so it offers a variety of workout levels. If you want to sweat this a decent hike to try.

Awesome trail, took the east trail with a stroller. It was a bit challenging at first but it got easier along the road. Loved this trail. Came across some little creatures along the way. Several trails along the road, I for sure will be back. And there was parking so that was a plus.

Great hike for beginners not a whole lot of people, peaceful if you just need to get away for a bit.

Nice trail especially for beginners. Go east side for longer hikes. I did not expect this to be walking distance from my house.

Really nice trail. There are not that many shade in this trail so wear some sunscreen. There were some locals here which is nice.

Could be a great hike, except for the transient camps literally all over. I would not recommend women going alone.

There is a cafe/ convenience store across from the campground where you can also purchase your day use park pass for $5. I experienced a foggy day, which gave a cooling effect to my hiking. Restrooms are vault toilets, so unpleasant smells and a mess are a given. The lake has lots of swampy algae, therefore not appropriate for swimming or water sports. However, they do allow fishing with permit. I am a nature enthusiast and it was saddening to see the lack of humans respect for nature, with graffiti and trash in some areas of the park. Crystal lake definitely could use more funding to preserve its natural beauty. The loveliest part is listening to woodpeckers as they work, watching an eagle fly above with a fish in its talons, and treading quietly not to startle the squirrel who is crossing my path. I suggest picking up a map with hiking trails from the rangers post or convenience store, before planning your day!
