For locals, it's a cute, short trail. Not difficult at all, only some slight steepness at the ends. There are some picnic tables at a point in the trail and there's parking in the residential area. Lots of people walking with their dogs. After the rain, the mountains were capped with snow, so that was a very pretty view. You can also look over the valley into the area, Ikea, Eastland Center, etc and off in the distance, you can even see LA. I heard it's super burning hot in the summer and some foos post up late at night sometimes, but other than that, if you're in the area & want a short walk, this is a neat place to check out. PS. The rock at the end is gone for awhile now from what I've heard.

This is a great little hiking trail in Walnut in the middle of these million dollar homes! Hey I can dream I live here while walking the 3 miles round trip. Parking is easy in the residential area. There weren't too many people on a recently sunny Sunday morning. The trail is wide so you can physical distance from others, the few peeps that we saw did have their masks on too. This trail is super sandy so our shoes and our white doggo got quite dirty. But the view was perfect and it was great to get out during Covid for some fresh air. I would think it's even nicer in the spring with flowers. I didn't see any sign this trail is actually call Rock on a Cliff, there's also no rock or cliff around. However, this hiking trail has beautiful views from the hillsides that overlook both cities of West Covina and Walnut.

Up a long residential street in walnut, located off amar rd. It's a really nice area they have private security. Not too many people on this trail so that's nice. Parking has two location, the map took me to a dead end in which I park on the curb by houses. The trail to the left isn't very long, was walking no more than 30min before coming to the end which is on a residential. I could have walked to my car in the residential area but instead just went backwards on the trail. The second trail is shabarum skyline which is a 20+ mile trail.

What nice and fun little park to take the kiddos to. It's located in diamond bar not too far from…read moretarget and the freeway. There is a round about parking near the entrance with a moderate amount of parking spaces but if you go past that further in there are more parking available. The play ground is quite large compared to other smaller park playgrounds. The cool think i like was that stairs from the first parking lot with the restrooms connect to the playground. So kids can jump right into the fun. Next to the playground its surrounded with plenty of picnic tables (concrete) and lets parents sit and relax while the kids play. The playground has multiple entries with two slides? Two monkey bars, stepping stone style elevated steps, a fireman pole, etc... definitely a fun park to come to. There is a little creek adjacent to the playground where you get a nice tranquil stream of flowing water drowned by the screams and laughter of children in the background, lol.. its nice really and something that sets it apart. We did not go further past the stream but there appears to be additional tables and a trail. Had a great time meeting our friends there and enjoying some fun times with the kids in the process. My kids loved it.

Also there is a hiking trail that I now frequently go to now. Especially the last few weeks (despite it being late January/early February) its been very warm in SoCal. This trail is relatively easy as it only takes about 30 minutes to complete the trail. I also love how most of this trail has plenty of shade. One of my favorite parks and hiking trails to go to around the Diamond Bar area.

New Playground for the kids!…read more I like how the playground has two areas for different ages and the city used padding for the ground under the play areas because sand is messy and wood chips get everywhere. We've been here twice in the last couple of months and my kids love it. (The city is updating the baseball/softball fields next to the playground). Parking could have a larger lot, but when the lot is full, there's plenty of street parking. And the playground has bathrooms right next to it. I hate when playgrounds/parks don't have bathrooms because kids always need to go when there's not a bathroom around. Very inconvenient when there's no bathroom. Cheers! Please see my photos. They added a new playground area bunch of new playground toys and just seems a lot more fun for the kids compared to the previous arrangement. The Park and play area appears to be larger than it was before which is a plus the old playground was kind of outdated, but this new one has a lot of fun activities for kids. It was very spacious very kid and toddler friendly. They also have a picnic area for people to rent space to have birthday parties and other celebratory events. There's some lighting in the playground area so even after hours you could still play for a little bit they are doing construction near the baseball field. Parking was pretty accessible led right to the park. There's a good amount of parking and then also you could probably park in the neighborhood nearby if there is no space but I never had an issue since I've been there the last two times highly recommend checking out this park and my daughter loves to come and play here.

It's the perfect quick escape -- close enough…read moreto civilization for convenience, yet far enough to leave the hustle and bustle of traffic and city life behind. Right now the cherry blossoms are in full, breathtaking bloom, turning parts of the park into a dreamy pink wonderland. The wildlife is thriving too: squirrels galore that are so bold they'll walk right up to your feet if you sit still and stay calm. On warmer days I've spotted rattlesnakes scurrying across the trails, so I always recommend staying in the middle of the paths as a safety precaution. From the main entrance at Colima Road, you can choose the paved walkway or head straight for the dirt trails depending on your mood. I usually make my way toward the horse stables and equestrian area -- watching the horses get fed or running around their enclosures is one of my favorite parts. Just be mindful of the occasional big mounds of horse droppings on the trails; it's a small price to pay for the beauty. The park is generally very clean, with plenty of trash cans scattered throughout. There are numerous benches, picnic areas, fire pits perfect for groups, a children's playground, and even a seasonal creek with several charming wooden bridges crossing directly over it (though the water is pretty dry now that the rainy season is over). You'll also notice signs posted along the trails warning about bobcats and mountain lions. I've been coming here regularly for six months and haven't heard or seen any myself, but I've seen quite a few hikers carrying pepper spray as a precaution. Just be safe out there. Weekends get busy with families celebrating birthdays and enjoying the outdoors, but it's all part of the lively atmosphere. For dog lovers, there are two fantastic off-leash dog parks right near the front entrance -- one for large dogs and one for medium/small dogs. Outside of those areas, dogs must be on leash per the signs. The hilltop trails offer absolutely stunning panoramic views that make every visit worthwhile. My only heads-up: the park is officially closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (per LA County rules), but a lot of locals park across the street at the nearby mall and walk in through the gates anyway. If you're in the Rowland Heights/Hacienda Heights area and looking for a beautiful regional park with trails, nature, horses, cherry blossoms, and those lovely wooden bridges over the creek, I highly recommend Schabarum. Just bring water, wear good shoes, keep an eye out for those snakes in the summer, and stay aware on the trails! 5/5 -- I'll definitely be back soon.

For convenience, I decided to buy a parking pass, which cost $10 and allowed for re-entry until 8 pm the same day. There were plenty of trees to photograph. Because of the current hot weather, there were several flowers already drying out. It's important to note that park rules prohibit cutting any tree or flower growing in the premises. Park amenities are minimal, but you can find multiple restrooms with water fountains and picnic tables to sit. When I went, there wasn't a big crowd, and the green space is already expansive. When the weather isn't hot, it's calming to take a walk along the paths and grass to visit different areas of the park.
