Anyhow, we parked our car at the Diamond Bar City Center then we started to hike. This trail is about a 1.5-mile loop trail. It takes an average of 47 min to complete. I would say this is an easy hike for us. However, we enjoyed this beautiful trail with some nice views up on the mountain. Some sections are a little steep but not to the top. This is a popular trail for hiking. We hiked on New Year's Day and the weather was so nice and it had a lot of people there. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

The display also showed $5 for weekends and $3 midweek. We wanted to do the Redwood trail and were directed to parking lot A. The park is big and beautifully landscaped with a pond and various picnic areas that can be rented in advance. There is enough space to set up all kinds of games. We brought a picnic lunch and sat on a bench that was perfectly situated alone amongst the desert plants. After lunch, we followed the signs for the Redwood Grove Trail which was labeled as easy and is a 1.5 miles dirt trail to the Redwood trees. When you arrive you'll see a small Redwood forest with the history of the trees displayed before you enter. A really beautiful and peaceful spot to relax for a bit. On our way back we decided to take the Creek Trail to see where it would lead us. I was hoping to see water at the end of this trail. But, we only saw a bunch of rocks at one point that may be filled with water if it rains. The end of this trail did lead us to a beautiful butterfly garden and the opposite end of the park. We made the walk back and stopped at the pond. There appeared to be other trails surrounding the park and a trail that leads to the Carbon Canyon Dam.

This is wonderful park to have in the neighborhood. Wished I lived a bit closer and wished we came prepared with a picnic blanket. It's not a very big park in itself, maybe about 2 miles all around, but there are different trails you can walk to from this entrance. It's not a loud park, even with a lot of people there it seems. Very relaxing and enjoyable. There is limited parking in the parking lot, but you can also park on the curb. Just check out the street parking times. There are city parking times where you're not to park there, unless collecting parking tickets is your thing.

The…read moreonly thing is that every time I walked, the dirt would fly off my shoes and the back of my leggings are dirty. The pebbles also fall into my shoes while walking that I had to stop by several times. Love seeing all the different types of plants too! Also there is private security driving around to make sure the place stays safe. The view it nice and the air feels clean because the area isn't congested with cars and traffic.

I came here on a Saturday morning at around 7:15am and it was a beautiful day with great weather. It was my first time here so I was really just taking my time and following the people ahead of me. The incline makes it a good workout, just be careful when you are going downhill on some of it - I almost slipped because my pup was going so fast/pulling me. Overall, nice views, not a lot of shade, and you can see some cows along the way! I went this past June but I heard from others that if you go in the spring around March / April, it is absolutely breathtaking with all the blooming flowers! I would definitely come back again!

You get to see some cows during the trail and it's definitely not a beginner hike with some hills, but it's a nice workout regardless. For parking I parked at Chino Chills Community Park which is essentially where the trail starts! (Parking is free)
