Went for the recreation swimming, complete waste of time & money, thankfully it was only $5, so not much money wasted. Swimming facilities are ok, nothing special. But if your young child can't swim yet, don't even bother wasting your time. They micromanage you with a bunch of rules. No life jackets allowed which is INSANE. Front desk lady tried to gaslight me & say that's a normal policy in most places which it is NOT. She needs to get out more. I've been all across the country & not one other places I've been to has ever had that rule, in fact it's the opposite in most places--non-swimmers are REQUIRED to wear them. So basically my kid couldn't do anything but sit there hanging on the edge of the pool. I tried to walk around the pool with her on my back, again, like I do everywhere else & they said I can't do that either. I couldn't swim cuz I had to watch my child at all times just hanging on the edge of the pool. Not fun at all. Locked rooms are only 18+, so couldn't use that either cuz my kid is with me. Just a bunch of pointless weird rules & micromanaging that doesn't exist anywhere else I've ever seen. Save your money & time & go somewhere else. We ended up just going to raging waters where we have season passes, she can wear life jackets allowed, & we have way more fun.

They have been coming here since they were all 9months old. Throughout the years my older boys joined the San Dimas swim team which is so awesome and a great team. She has a positive but firm demeanor. She is EXTREMELY patient and kind. My daughter went from lookin like a drowning starfish to a strong, controlled swimmer. Granted she still has a way to go but considering shes only had a few lessons I am just extremely impressed with how much she's improved and I feel that's a direct statement on how Vayda teaches. If you were on the fence about trying waterworks I can definitely say that Coach Vayda made this a worthwhile endeavor and if shes still with waterworks next year I may opt to re enroll my daughter for more lessons. Check in your bag at the front for a safety pin number. Shoes go on the shelf. Must be in swimwear to go near the pool. If you are not wearing a swimsuit, you have to sit on the bleachers. There is very limited shade over the cramped bleachers that can seat 15 people comfortably (20 people max). There were 3 lifeguards around the splash pad and shallow pool. The shallow pool is perfect for kids who already have basic swim skills. The shallow pool is the perfect depth for my 6 year old to comfortably stand with the water up to her neck.

As the saying goes : "We give credit when credit is due" and I commend every single person who has…read moreworked diligently and proactively to open up their lap swimming program at the Irwindale Aquatics at the end of July as soon as the lockdown decree was rescinded for outdoor swimming whereas almost all the other City-owned pools in other Cities throughout the County remain closed for reasons only they are privy to despite the CDC's acknowledgement that " there is no evidence that COVID-19 can spread to people through recreational water". Ironically they have decided to stay closed despite this being a pressing time that calls for a sense of urgency to provide their constituents with access to an avenue of pursuing their health. One other rare exception is one City pool that opened up, however, it was price-gouging and adopted a price surge akin to Uber which is abhorrent and unethical especially during these challenging times and considering that it is taxpayer-funded and a City entity. Contrast that with what the City of Irwindale has offered in terms of their robust schedule with up to six lap-swimming sessions from Monday to Friday and a very reasonable pricing structure of no more than $2 per 45-minute session for a non-resident like myself entails that it be recognized and applauded for exemplifying the essence of public service to serve its community with the pledge of "a fuller and more rewarding life providing facilities for recreation, social-cultural events and sport participation" which ought to be the modus operandi of every City and ought to be emulated. It begs to be answered - if the City of Irwindale can get it done, why not these other Cities? My life has been more rewarding as a result of having access to a stellar pool to swim in after being deprived of it for over four months due to the lockdown and the positive effects of the pool's accessibility are evident in other swimmers. Although the pool was inadvertently closed for a combination of three weeks due to the fires and that sadly the program is coming to its final week, kudos to Marianna, Adam, Nayala, Daniel, Management, the City Council and every single individual for their concerted efforts in making this an uplifting summer for me instead of a depressing one which many are experiencing unfortunately. I earnestly urge the City to consider extending its lap swimming program to a year-round basis with early morning and evening sessions for those who work, extending the swim sessions to 60 minutes or more and to expand it by integrating other Aquatics programs as it has a top-notch Olympic-sized pool with a vibrant Rec Team, local Swim Teams, avid swimmers like myself and swimming enthusiasts young and elderly alike spanning neighboring Cities - all the elements for the makings of a successful Swimming Club! It is certainly doable ! Thank you All from the bottom of my heart, the good karma you have earned is incalculable. Keep up the exceptional work!
