My girlfriends and I went out to brunch last Sunday. The menu has good variety and is very well priced. The food is good, but not great. I had the Benny of the Day, which was good, but not my favorite type of eggs benedict. The drinks are always super great here! And they're a great price, especially for beunc The service was good, just a little slow, but that is only because we had a server that was still training, and only on his second day there. (His name was Wayne! So nice!) I appreciated that they told us that, and that our server was super honest if he didn't know the answer to our questions or something. Wah meh. This review is solely based on the food and that's why I'm giving bonefish three stars for an A-OK. Staff was amazing and the atmosphere was chill. Located right in downtown Beverly people watching on the pavement is where it's at. Our server was super nice and went over the menu and the little toy dinosaur concept they are doing, I dig it. Edgy cool. Also enjoyed the pirate dude with the mask on, weird times. Drinks were also bomb and presented well with what they are working with (plastic cups) However, the food fell short, the salmon dish looked amazing but the fish was dry the rice was hard and the asparagus seemed somewhat wilted. My friend got the tacos which were again A-OK. Nothing to write home about. All in all, Great staff, location and people watching vibes however wouldn't run back there for din din. Great drinks, we tried the Sweet and Spicy Palomo and the Mai Tai, both we're very well balanced! Perfect outdoor patio with heaters. Avacado Rangoon were delightful. We enjoyed the tacos; especially the tuna and the shrimp and brisket tacos. The fried rice was really great but the broccoli salad needed a bit more dressing. What a disappointment! The wait staff was fine but the food was absolutely horrible. We heard good reviews about this place so maybe we just ordered the wrong items. I got the swordfish which came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The fish was dry and tasteless. The potatoes were not edible. They put some sort of cheese-tasting sauce on it that was absolutely disgusting. My boyfriend agreed with me. My boyfriend ordered two tacos and received two different ones that he did not order. That same sauce was on one of them and neither of us could stomach it. Maybe we will come back and order something very different but at the moment, we will not be returning and highly recommend that the chefs reconsider these dishes. read more

Stopped in for lunch 2/3/24 was seat at a table that was covered in water spots and discovered all four water glasses were stuck to the table. Then I was handed a menu that was wet on the back and had ketchup on the front. Next we ordered drinks my glass had food particles on the inside of the glass and my wife's glass had something sticky on the rim. The tables across from us left and I watched the staff clean both tables with a wet rag with no cleaner explaining the glasses stuck to the table. Great spot for an impromptu lunch or as your local hangout. My wife and I took a Sunday trip to the coast and decided to stop in. It's listed as seafood place and while there is seafood it has a cool menu with a wide variety of yummy options. Staff is very welcoming and they have a good COVID plan. It's safe, but also reasonable. Super casual approach and quick services. We shared the Deviled Eggs, the Pulled Pork Egg Rolls and although it was a bit much for us, the Loaded Tater Tots were irresistible. All divine, especially the egg rolls. Being from the South, they were spot on yummers. Great drink menu, prepared well with great presentation (of the speciality drinks we saw being made) We got the feel it was little like a beach bar you'd walk into after sailing in the Caribbean and docking up...everyone has fun because that's the common goal. A friend suggested BH for lunch and I am SO glad she did!!! Everything from the decor to the food to the service was just awesome. The lunch menu isn't huge but it has a lot of good and unique options. My friend and I split the avocado rangoon. If you like avocado and you like fried foods, get this!! If you are splitting it with someone, get two of this!! Perfectly fried with great avocado flavor (some other ingredients mixed in, too). It was so good! It only comes with three (though they are large), so order accordingly. The meal options are great - pick a protein, a sauce/rub, and a format (taco, sandwich, plate or bowl). And you order as many as you want. I got a chicken taco with the bbq sauce and avocado. Delicious!! And sizeable. I had been debating between one and two, and ended up ordering only one. It was the perfect amount of food after the rangoons. The bar tender was super friendly and helpful. The decor is awesome - the whole place has a tiki theme - they played great music and it was just a fun place with great food and reasonable prices. The drink menu looked good, also. Great addition to Beverly! The food and service were excellent! Noah was our server, friendly and personable and great with making recommendations! We started with the Oysters which were fresh and delicious! We then had the Cod Loin Sandwich on sourdough with the Rootbeer Glaze and Frings and the Shrimp Plate with the Mango Habanero sauce with Seawood Salad and Fried Rice! Both out of this world! Be warned, as I was, the Mango Habanero packs some heat, but man it was great! Also the Fried Rice, best I've had in ages! Had a Painkiller as well, delish! We had the most unpleasant and unsettling experience here tonight. A group of a few close friends decided to go out to celebrate a friends birthday (who is a local in Beverly). The friend who lives in Beverly raved about this bar constantly and we were all so excited to try it out. However, the second we walked into the bar we were greeted with nothing but rude and hostile behavior. One member of the group asked for waters in addition to her drink. The bar tender (who referred to herself later on as the bar manager) ridiculed her and stated "you know manners can go a long way in life" while making obscene faces and and sticking her tongue out at a PAYING CUSTOMER! She asked for a water and this is this employees response!?!?!? Absurd. But it didn't end there. The bar tender "manager" continued to go around to each member sitting at the bar loudly talking about how "rude" our group was and talking very poorly about us when we literally just walked in for one drink. We ended up tipping her well but her response?? She started to yell at the entire bar to "give it up to the bar tenders, treat your bartenders well". Again, this girl asked for a simple water and this is how out of control this bar tender was being. She ended up making all of us feel so uncomfortable that we didn't even want to finish our drink. We just wanted to leave and never step foot back in that establishment again. The owners/managers may want to take a look at how their employees operate and treat paying RESPECTFUL customers. I would understand if we all walked in absolutely belligerent and were rude and demanding but I can promise you, this was not the case. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and I highly recommend, anyone looking to celebrate a fun night or have a nice drink out, stay clear of this place. read more

I eat out in Beverly more than once a week and I'm familiar with the local cuisine, the local competition, and I try to be generous. So, so sad to report that the waitstaff was very nice and the cooking so obnoxious. Love the concept, but the execution is severely lacking. My husband and I have been to the Beverly location twice, and the Lynn location once. I doubt we will return as this place is just so middle of the road, benign, and mediocre on basically all fronts. Menu: love the concept. Execution is sloppy. Flavors are muddled. Grains aren't dressed in the grain bowls. My citrus salad dressing (on the kale salad) was ALL citrus: biting, pungent, bitter, and not in a good way. It seemed like they forgot to add the oil and seasonings to the lemon juice, and it was basically inedible. We got a bunch of the sides one night, and they all just sort of tasted the same. Oily and heavy. Not good. Not worth the calories. The music NEVER suits the decor. It's always some terrible Pandora mix of the bartenders choosing - which is usually some lame top 40 mix. It's supposed to be a tiki bar - why not set the mood with some music? Reggae, ska, Martin Denny, etc... Maybe stand out form the crowd and if we MUST have tv's in every bar, maybe show old Hawaiian movies... It feels like a place that was dreamt up by some rich kid who has never worked in the restaurant business. I live near downtown Beverly and would KILL for something truly excellent in town. I looked up reviews for Bonefish Harrys prior to our visit last night and noticed they were hot and cold but we decided to give it a try anyway. The man at the door was friendly and the wait wasn't bad considering how busy they were. First impression: we were surprised by their limited drink options. I opted to try their gin-thyme cocktail ($9). It was very refreshing but mostly crushed ice, so not sure if it was really worth the price. My husband opted for regular gin and tonic and it was bigger and only $6. I did not see any wine but didn't bother asking after my husband was told they didn't carry a few other items. The sign outside was touting the tacos so we decided to give them a try. The waitress was helpful and suggested popular taco combos but the service was s l o w. When the tacos finally arrived they were impossible to tell apart because of the mounds of pickled slaw on top. There was SOOOO much slaw my husband said he honestly could not tell his fish taco from his pulled pork taco -- It was THAT overpowering! I had fish and shrimp tacos so I could tell by the texture of the shrimp. Maybe it's just me but I think the meat should be the main ingredient and the slaw a garnish, not the other way around. Verdict: We were not overly impressed but may give them another shot on a less busy night. read more

This place has some of the best food on Cabot St. I had chicken and Waffles from the bunch menu and was so shocked at how perfect the meal was. The chicken was so moist on the inside but has a satisfying crunch. The spiced maple syrup was fantastic. Waitresses was kind and quick to help. I love how they have chalkboard painted the tables and left chalk there for the guests to have fun with. It is a bright and fun atmosphere. read more

Went there for lunch yesterday after traveling up from Bristol, RI for a little league tournament. We showed up at around 530 with 4 adults and 6 kids. There were plenty of empty tables. At first the hostess said she couldn't accommodate us (meaning seat us all together). Fine, we said, we'll take 3 separate tables close to each other. After some reluctance (and having to speak with the manager), she agreed to seat us, but made no attempt at hiding the fact that having our kids there was less than ideal. She even made sure that an adult would be sitting at their table even though we were right next to them (the kids ages ranged from 5 - 11). She even took away the glasses and knives from the table! Other than that less than hospitable experience, the visit was relatively smooth. Good beer and drink selection. Good, albeit confusing menu. Nobody in our party really liked the cilantro lime seasoning, but maybe we're picky. We were already on edge from the seating experience so maybe that biased our opinion. Hi to all reading this. I went into Bonefish Harry's on Cabot Street this past week to get a takeout dinner. My car decided not to start that day and my phone was locked inexplicably. I had four bags of items that I had purchased at another store on Cabot and my plan was to order dinner and then ask them to call a taxi for me. Sarah was the hostess. She called Beverly's Tri-city city's candwho said that it would take 30-45 minutes to which I said fine. I asked Sarah if she could call back after the minutes passed which she kindly did for me. The message from the dispatcher was "we are not sending out any more Taxi's today!! Sarah then made a number of other calls for me to friends and family. I got a coke and sat down outside waiting for a callback. I actually don't live to far away but I recently (August) been in the hospital for 7-8 days and was still recovering and I couldn't manage all of bags. As I was sipping my coke at one of their outdoor tables, time was passing. Suddenly, a woman came out of the restaurant. Of course I am blanking on her name right now!! I believe that it may have been Mary. Anyway, She also worked there. She told me to wait where I was and she was going to come around to give me a ride home! Both went above and beyond the call of duty. Mary refused any money from the ride as well ! BTW, I had the Seared scallops and the avocado Rangoon. The Good: Fish tacos were excellent. The pork eggs rolls and sauce were delish! The cinnamon popcorn was different and yummy. The interior is super fun. Constructive: Wish there was an option for fries OR onion rings, only an option of both and and onion rings were greasy. The chicken was so dry, even drier than when I cook. My son really didn't care for his burger. Chairs are uncomfortable, but maybe that keeps people from sticking around too long! Cocktails are small. The female food server was playing incessantly with her long hair between food deliveries, please stop. I think there is so much potential in this place. Totally fun. Chalk on the table was ahit. Interesting menu with a nice "pick your protein" option. Salads were big and good. California roll taco was ok, could have been better in terms of execution. Everything was portioned generously. Great sides and apps. Waitress was very nice and attentive. I came with 5 or 6 people from work at 4 on a Friday afternoon. We were told we'd have to sit in the back, although there were seats in the front. We were seated in the back and ordered some drinks. When it came time to order food, one member of my group wanted to order tacos, but we had been given the menu for Sidedoor Sally's. We were told by the waitress that "this one time" we could order from the Bonefish Harry's menu. My friend wanted to order nachos from the Bonefish menu and the waitress said " Oh I was under the impression you were just ordering tacos, not from the whole menu." At that point, my friend decided to not order any food at all and we left. I'm not sure what's going on there, but there are 2 different menus in the restaurant and a totally different one online. We were trying to be flexible but the waitress acted like she was doing us a favor by letting us order one item from the menu of the restaurant we thought we here going to in the first place. We were referred by Cindy's nails as this being the best "Westcoast" type of menu, since I am from California I had to see for myself! The tall young Gentleman that served me (I apologize for forgetting his name!) he was a genuine good hearted young man, was able to give us wonderful recommendations from the menu! And he was right on point with the delicious tacos! I totally loved the Tacoma and the HamSolo were truly flavorful and just the right spice! The last two times we have been here we have encountered such bad attitude from one particular server, I don't know why. The last time we ordered a couple beers and fish and chips. My husband beer order was a problem but I can't remember why but our server got attitude and said something about my husband being angry. I told her he was not angry at all he just wanted his beer order corrected, he is very mild mannered. The after she brought the right beer , we noticed our fish and chips on the counter under the hot lamps for quite some time. We asked if those were our orders Again bad attitude like we were annoying her Turns out that was our order but it sat out so long they were cold. We sent the two orders back and of course more bad attitude I mean who needs this? We were out for an evening for dinner and a couple drinks , attitude and rudeness is not in the equation !! Our order came back fresh and hot and was delish but I wonder if she spit on our food, she is seriously toxic, she is a good bartender but has serious attitude problems. We went in tonight with reservations for 7:39 pm It was so freaking hot inside and no available seats outside. I asked about the lack of AC- no answer just this is what it is- it's hot outside ‍ We sat ourselves inside but it was too hot in the dining area so we moved to bar area where there was a ceiling fan. Well the ceiling fan only affected a small area not where we were seated. Then , we got the same server as last time Oh god and there was the bad attitude again. I asked about the AC basically tough shit deal We were told we could not order a drink while we looked over the menu We said we were here for dinner but wanted to order a drink while we look over the menu. That was not an option and attitude server left with a huff. We said to each other , screw this and left . We went to A&B burger We had a wonderful experience, delicious food, a lovely server with whom we joked with and enjoyed . We left her a really generous tip. We enjoyed really good food and a couple of great cocktails sooooo Bonefish Harry's ... we won't be back ,EVER, and be sure we will tell everyone we know about the stupid bullshit service and attitude at your establishment . We live only a few miles away but there are so many , so so many restaurants to go to so We don't need to deal with poor service and poor attitudes Too bad because the food is pretty good but dining out is about the experience AND the food so food with bad attitude is not worthy of my time or money . Tried this place on a whim because it was close to the theater we were seeing a performance at. Super quirky motif, but also very 'cheap' looking. (Xmas lights strung across ceiling, chalkboard tabletop with chalk provided, dollar store Halloween decorations on the walls, etc) I'm noting this not because it's a problem, but because the prices did not reflect the environment & were what you would expect a much higher end restaurant. We ordered spicy margaritas ($10) that was a glass completely filled with tiny crushed ice. There was maybe 3 ounces of actual liquid in it. No straws made it impossible to drink without spilling ice on yourself & it was a plain margarita with 1 jalepeno slice placed atop the ice. Finished mine in 2 minutes & felt no alcohol whatsoever. (strike 1) Waitress asked 2X if we wanted another & was told no, but still never took the empty glasses. Next up was the Calamari appetizer. Hard to screw up but they managed. Calamari was overcooked, rubbery & served over a giant bed of 'Shreds' lettuce from Market Basket which filled the bowl to appear like a large serving but was in fact a smaller portion than typical yet at $14 more pricey. (strike 2) For the meals I ordered 2 'signature tacos' with esoteric names that made no sense like the 'Han Solo' which was pork belly with red onions. (Did Han eat that on the Millenium Falcon?) My partner ordered Short Ribs.It took 45 minutes for the food to come out. The tacos were serfved in red & white paper trays like you would get at a clam shack on the cape at the beach. The meat was grossly burned to the point the tiny black chunks 'cracked' when you bit them. There was another bigger problem though, although the waitress carried & sometimes used a notepad, she did not write down the short ribs & erroneously put it in as pork chops. She asked that we "'just try it & I'll take it off the bill rather than put in a new order". That is a quote. She didn't know, but we only had 15 minutes to eat it & make the theater anyway so it wasn't an option to reorder. (strike 3) And that's the ballgame today, folks: Diners 1, Harry's Bonehead Grille 0. Although in reality we're both losers. $70 for Chipotle Grill level food & a restaurant that will not get a return visit. read more

I was jealous when I saw my daughters burger come out. I had snagged some tots from the app and they were deep fried goodness. Our waitress was aamazing and knew that me having a 5 and 1 year old meant a booth www a best. She showed the littlles how to use the chalk and didnt scoff when the baby tried to eat it. I ordered the grain now we with some sort of miso dressing. It was warm and filling and everything I wanted in dinner dEapite my burger jealousy. The dish is hearty and flavorful with texture and it doesn't feel like a big bowl of hEalth despite kinda looking like it. I could eaT it every day. Honestly it's that good. But it's a huge portion and I ate the whole thing so I should probably not eat it everyday. This place is a diamond in an otherwise bland set of choices. Go here and you will not regret it. Vegan vegetarian you are all set! Also they are big supporters of LGBT+ and have even been vocal against people having issue with this. I love anyone who can stand up for what they believe.
