I Was Looking Forward To Dining here For The First Time In Several Years And My Party Of Three Did So Saturday Evening, 5 December 2021 With A 6:45 Reservation.  The Meal Was An Overall Disappointment. The Restaurant Has A Clean, Crisp, Modern, Upscale Feel.  It Is Attractive And Comfortable. I Had Requested A Booth And Despite Being Originally Seated At A Table, The Female Host Ultimately Granted Our Preference.  A Booth Was then Available For Us Without Having To Wait At All. The Food And Service Were Nothing Like One Would Expect Of A Fine Restaurant.  My Chicken Marsala Was Dry, Tasteless White Meat With A Small Amount Of Tasty Sauce On It.  The Small Portion Of Garlic Mashed Potatoes And Broccoli Which Accompanied It Were Plain And Almost Tasteless, No Hint Of Garlic In The Potatoes. It Would Be Nice To Offer Gravy For Mashed Potatoes, Something Which Might Have Made The side dish More Palatable. My Food Was Not Served Hot, That Of The Other Members Of The Party Were.  My Wife's Signature Pasta With Salmon Was Just Satisfactory.  Our Son's Macaroni And Cheese And French Fries Were To His Liking. There Were Two Highlights To The Meal: The Creamed Spinach Side Dish And Fresh, Delicious Bread With A Small Amount Of Pesto Oil Mixture (It Would Be Nice If Butter Were Brought As Well Or The Server Asked If The Party Wants Butter). The Water Glasses Are Tiny And There Is Not Much Water For A Party Of Three In One Pitcher That Is Left At The Table.  It Was Not Easy To Secure More Water, Though Our Server Asked Once If We Wanted More. I Believe That A Staff Shortage And How Busy The Restaurant Was With Big Holiday Parties  Caused The Service To Be Substandard And For Our Meals To Arrive More Than Forty Minutes After Ordering. It Took Many Minutes For Us To Be Approached By Our Server. Our Request For A Children's Menu Was Not Honored And The Individual Who Seated Us Did Not Ask If We Wanted One Despite It Being Obvious That We Had A Party Member Who Qualified for it.  My wife ordered creamed spinach as an appetizer.  It was not brought until requested again, long after I had finished my caesar salad. A party of three which arrived after us received their entrees so long before ours that they were finished with their meals by the time ours arrived. Used plates and glassware sat for a long time without anyone removing them with no bussers. Our server assured our satisfaction with what I call a "drive-by" quality check while on the run.  She did not have much time for us throughout the evening and there was no real ability to establish rapport as a good server seeks to do. She had been given a table of ten-party after we arrived, which understandably had her focus.  No one from management came to the table to ensure satisfaction. After placing payment with the check, we came to realize that we would be sitting at the table for a long time if we waited for it to be picked up.  We decided to leave the exact amount of payment including tip so that we could leave and we tipped generously for the lackluster quality of service, which I emphasize I by no means blame entirely on the server. read more

We were there last night for the first time! They made a mistake with our bill and the $50 gift card we used! Bottom line, they ended up charging my card over $400! Actually bill minus the $50 gift card should have been $143ish! Had to call my bank and also call Bonefish the next day, they did deduct what was incorrectly charged but, did not at least offer some kind of compensation for the inconvenience! Coming from a long history of customer service, this should be automatic! We might not have even taking the compensation, but always show your customers appreciation for their inconvenience! The wife and I went to early dinner on 1/24/22. I ordered: Cod Imperial stuffed with shrimp, lump crab and Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, topped with lemon-caper butter, served with choice of two signature sides. I figured that stuffed with - - - meant the Cod fish would be stuffed with the items mentioned in the menu. Well what I got was a flat piece of Cod with a scope of lump crab on top of the fish - not stuffed - I do not recall seeing any shrimp. My significant other and I wanted a nice dinner after a work trip. He got the tilapia and I got the lobster stuffed shrimp. The mixed drinks were nicely made, rather strong too! The mashed potatoes were amazing and the asparagus was the biggest I've ever seen. I was let down by the "lobster" stuffed shrimp because honestly I didn't see or taste the lobster. We usually come to celebrate our anniversary or a birthday because it's been one of our favorite restaurants in the area. It was easy to make a reservation online that evening and get a table. I wish I knew our waitresses name because she was absolutely amazing and so kind throughout the entire evening! Food was delicious again! Conveniently located at the entrance to South Hills Village mall, Bonefish Grill served up a very good meal, with a great wait staff, and a manager that visited each table, asking if everything was cooked to order, and asked if the service was excellent. That counts for something and is appreciated. Our meal started off with fresh bread, with olive oil for dipping. Bread was amaze balls!!! That's very tasty btw!! Bang Bang shrimp for an appetizer, consisting of crispy fried shrimp with a creamy, spicy sauce, 5 stars!!!!! I had the Shrimp Pad Thai, very good, ample portion size. My friend had the Carribean Wild Mahi Mahi. It was delicious, wood fired, fresh, flaky, excellent. Sides were creamy mashed potatoes, French Green Beans, and wood fired shrimp. WHERE DO I BEGIN? First, I called 2 days ahead to make a reservation for our Anniversary, and Caitlyn (hope I'm spelling that right!) made it for me quickly and was so excited for us to come to Bonefish to celebrate. We were excited too since we hadn't been there since before COVID hit! When we got there we were greeted with so many "happy anniversary's" and even had it written on our table. There was also an anniversary card that all of the bonefish employees signed. It was fantastic! The managers also came over and we all lovely and welcoming. We were delighted that Caitlyn also ended up being our server and she was a GEM. This year was not easy for the service industry, so to be treated as if she was just as happy to be there as we were, I cannot thank her enough. She made the meal just as amazing as the food did. BUT THE FOOD. I haven't had a meal that good in a while. The martinis were amazing. The pineapple martini really makes you feel like you're on the beach and then the espresso martini is the perfect thing to wake you right up after eating multiple courses. We had the imperial Chilean sea bass and it was cooked to perfection.... perfectly flakey and light on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside. It was amazing! The best part of the meal was the thermidor gnocchi because of the huge lobster chunks and the delicious sauce. We were stuffed! Especially after the go-to appetizers of the bang bang shrimp and seafood dip. I can't wait to eat my leftovers but most of all, we can't wait to come back because that was one of the best restaurant experiences we have had as a couple. Still very good though. After figuring out how we're gonna split the check, we told the waitress how to split it. I know normally that takes some time, but we ended up waiting 20-25 minutes for the checks. The service there was not very good. I haven't been to this location since I attended the elite event at Bonefish last year. We have been feeling a bit more comfortable with going out to eat (sparingly) and decided to dine-in. I made a reservation in advance, just to be safe. We were sat right away- we were spaced out between other people & there were clear plastic dividers between tables as well. Our server was very nice & attentive to us throughout the evening. I went with the mule for a drink- it was very good, but a little too gingery (needed more lime & mint). We ordered the bang bang shrimp for an appetizer, which was excellent- the portion is huge & it was delicious. For our meals, I went with the steak & crab cake with a side of garlic whipped potatoes & the seasonal vegetable (which was broccoli). Brendan went with the burger & fries. He loved his burger & the fries were good as well. My steak was cooked just perfectly - medium- and was very good. The crab cake was good, but it was falling apart- kinda tough to eat. The garlic potatoes were amazing. The broccoli was good, although overcooked & a little mushy. Overall though, we had a great time & enjoyed our food- will be back. read more

I've been here three times, and my final conclusion is: meh. It's not awful, but it's not worth the high prices either. It's very nicely decorated inside though and our waitress couldn't have been better. My latest visit we ordered ceviche to share. It had no citrus flavor and the chunks of fish and scallops were very tough and fishy. The shrimp in it was ok, but this wasn't nearly as good as the civiche at Mitchell's. I had a blackberry red sangria which was pretty good and reasonably priced at $6.00. I had the Lily's chicken for dinner, because fish and chips, and crab cakes on past visits weren't great. The chicken had wayyyy too many greens on top, and the goat cheese was very sour. And I love goat cheese. Their mashed potatoes are very good. Three of us shared the macadamia brownie...it was a very small portion for the price and was more like a crumbly cake than a brownie. Another "meh" moment. Someone got the sirloin and crabcake dinner and really liked it, and another in our party got the salmon with mango salsa and said "it's just ok" when asked. The 5 year old tore up the popcorn shrimp and fries. Two of us put our food on the same check. We had $55 in gift cards between us and still had to pay $20 each. Almost $100 for a shared appetizer, 2 dinners, a sangria, and a shared dessert. All of which, except the sangria and mashed potatoes, were just mediocre? No. There are too many great places around with reliably good food to go back here. While i don't hate it here, i don't love it either. We ordered four diners, three of which included shrimps. The shrimp were undercooked (cold) in the middle. Sent them all back to the kitchen, and they came back marginally better. The waitress commented that she guessed I liked my shrimp "well done". So I guess the problem was supposed to be with my unusual eating habits. I ate the bad shrimp, but two of my friends just chose not to eat them. Left them on the plate. Then the cream in our coffee was bad -- floated on the coffee in lumps. The "chef" (who was really a bus-boy or something) came over to the table with profuse apologies and offered to take the bad food off the bill. (Actually he took only a part of each diner off, because each diner included shrimp as well as some fish or chicken.) He fell over himself with regrets, which I regarded as totally insincere and condescending. The desert was junk. Altogether a bad experience. Sending food back twice to be cooked, the diner was badly interrupted, and nothing we ended up eating was very good. I won't go back there again. read more

Coleslaw served totally without dressing or any other vegetables eg. Carrots...Waitress stated that the cook is new and probably forgot dressing. A dish of shredded cabbage is bland and tasteless. Me-Husband had breaded trout, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The trout had a mild taste and may have been tilapia, not trout,with the only flavor being the breading. Trout was also served warm not hot. The broccoli was tasteless, warm, not hot and totally unflavored. The bread and mashed potatoes, were the only highlights of the meal. We only drank water and had to wait for refills. We eat out about 100+ times per year and found this experience a waste of time and money. Needless to say we would not recommend this restaurant or return for another meal. read more

For a long time I would drive by Bonefish Grill during my monthly trips to Target and think to myself, "One day I'm actually going to eat dinner there!" And finally recently I had the chance to do just that. I went here for a Friday night birthday dinner with a group of friends. Immediately I saw that Bonefish Grill is the kind of place where you're better off getting a reservation - the entire place was full except for the table set aside for my group. Bonefish is also not the place to go if you want to enjoy a quiet dinner conversation; the noise level admittedly got better as the night went on (my group left close to 10:15 PM), but it was quite loud when I arrived. Business and high volume of noise aside, I actually really enjoyed dining here - the food and service were both impressive. Our waiter checked on our group frequently to refill our drinks and make sure we were happy with our food. In fact when our appetizer was brought out he even said that it took so long to get it to us that he was dropping it from our bill. And here we weren't going to complain and had thought things were moving pretty smoothly considering how busy the place was! It was a nice surprise. For my main course I went for the ahi tuna, which had a very interesting mix of sesame and soy sauces with light touches of wasabi and ginger - which combined gave the tuna a tasty but (thankfully) moderate kick. By the way, if you're not talking about your food during dinner, you'll probably be talking about your drinks; my friends' drink was brought out in an actual cup made out of ice! Half of our table didn't even believe it was ice until we watched it melt throughout the night. Talk about different! And the desserts? Quite large and quite delicious - our group of four went ahead and shared a giant piece of strawberry shortcake to wrap up all of our meals. All in all Bonefish left a good impression and a great taste in my mouth when I rolled my way on out of here. I have been to Bonefish Grill several times and have always been please with my meal and the experience. It gets very busy during dinner hours, so I highly recommend making a reservation. Otherwise, you may be waiting at least an hour. The restaurant is very clean and relatively new looking. Staff is friendly and service quick. Prices moderate. I always get the Bang Bang Shrimp which is one of their signature dishes. I like it as the appetizer where you get a heaping mound of perfectly cooked shrimp in a delicious sauce! I think this place is similar to the seafood experience Red Lobster strives for but I think it is done much better here. Enjoy! read more

If you have a dairy allergy, do not eat here. Most items on the menu have cheese or cream in them. However, I spoke with the waitress and she was extremely accommodating. I ordered the grits without knowing of the cheese in them, and my waitress allowed me to get green beans instead for no extra charge! Also, my shrimp and eggs on an English muffin was delicious! The appetizer bread is also soft and fresh. The atmosphere resembles that of a finer dining establishment, but the prices are mid range (with some menu items on the higher side). I had never been to this restaurant ever but always seen it from the road. I assumed it was just like Outback but a bit nicer. I was not giving them enough credit . The food was delicious and very flavorful. Our server Roey went above and beyond and kept bringing us more bread, water, offering to bring us more sauces and kept following up on a few special dietary requests my mother had. Okay, so the food is pretty good. I've had various grilled fish, fried fish, and salads. I like the wedge salad. Service is as I expect. It's good but not overwhelmingly so. It fits the price-point of this restaurant. The setting here is getting a little dated, looking a little 1990s, but not too bad.
