I recently ordered a carryout order over the phone and was told to arrive in approximately 25 minutes. I arrived promptly, as told, only to step into the restaurant and encounter an extremely sticky mess on the floor. Attempting to avoid further damage to my shoes, I tried to take giant steps outside the danger zone only for my shoes to remain glued while my feet continued without them. This is not a big deal in it of itself but it goes towards painting the beginning of a less than desirable experience and the scope of the mess itself. I patiently waited behind two other families to pay for my order as the line grew behind me. Fifteen to twenty minutes later, the hostess finally appears. Servers, bartenders, even a cook walked by and no one acknowledged the growing line to either jump in to assist or grab the hostess. A couple walks in and jumps the line. Rather than be encouraged to wait their turn, they were seated first. (we were all left staring at each other over it) Again, less than ideal but perhaps the hostess was not fully aware that they had cut the line (giving her the benefit of the doubt). As it is my turn, I am then told to wait as the order is not ready. In bewilderment at how my food is not ready when the restaurant was slow at my initial arrival and I had already waited an additional 20-30 minutes AFTER it was suppose to be ready, I took a seat to wait. Another 10 - 15 minutes later, I see the hostess carrying the bag upfront. I again patiently wait as the man before me pays for his carryout order and leaves. I asked for the bill to be separated for 2 payments for 2 meals and was told that could only be done from the back computer (which is not a big deal as I understand it might need a manager override to split), I confirm that, yes, I still need it separated as I was picking up an order for my co-worker. I was then met with annoyance and waited another 10 minutes for the bills to be separated and paid. I finally arrive to my office (only a 7 minute drive) and realize all the food was cold. Not just lukewarm- cold. Each individual part of my experience by itself is not the end of the world, however put altogether I was forced to quickly eat a cold meal after most of my lunch break was spent waiting for said food. I hope my story encourages the staff to take accountability for their workplace. Clean up a giant sticky mess, help out the host stand, be kind to your guests and prepare the food on time. I have worked as a server for years and understand a restaurant has its "off" days, but not everyone working does at the same time. The apathy speaks to a much larger problem. Best place to eat great seafood. I've been going to Bonefish for multiple years now and it always gets better. Started off with the Bang Bang Shrimp which never disappoints. I ordered a Caesar Salad with anchovies, hands down the best Caesar I've ever had anywhere. I had the Swordfish with jalapeño bacon cream for my entree. This was so delicious. It was cooked perfectly with amazing flavor. This is the first time I've ever had swordfish and I will for sure be ordering it again in the future. And to end the meal I split a creme brûlée with my wife. She's obsessed with it and I don't blame her. I have yet to find a restaurant that does their creme brûlée like Bonefish does. read more

First the food part: The fish was excellent. Husband had Tilapia, while I totally enjoyed the trout. I preferred the old menu to this newly released, more causal dining menu. The wine list is very fairly priced. Service was excellent. Now the bad: I called at 6:10pm asking to make a reservation for 6:30 or 7pm that night. I was told they do not take reservations for within an hour. Nor do they do call ahead wait listing. I asked "if we come within ten minutes, will there be a wait for a table for two?" I was told, "No, I don't think that will be problem." We arrived in less than ten minutes and were told that there was a 25-30 minute wait. I recognized her voice, and reminded her that I had just called. She blushed, shrugged her shoulders, and referred us to the bar. Where we paid for two glasses of wine, feeling like we had been screwed. There WERE empty tables in the restaurant. I was really pumped up to be impressed... But no so much. It's like the menu had such potential, but execution was average. I was excited about the Blackberry Smash beverage, but once I got it it wasn't sweet enough or strong enough, it was like blackberries put in water. My wife and I had dinner at Bone Fish Grill in Independence, OH last night and it aside from the spaced out tables without chairs and the new wood dividers added to the top of the booths, the place seem the same. As in the past the food was awesome and looked great when it was delviered, this was the highlight of the dinner experience. We were disappointed on a couple of things that I will comment on. First I made a reservation but when we got there people were being seated who did not have reservations. When we were seated it was at a table right outside the bathrooms. I looked around and saw 3 open booths so I asked the person seating us if we could sit in one of them and she said she will check. When she was returning she sat a couple at one of the open booths and then came to us and said all the booths had been reserved for people who made a reservation and asked for a booth. Now I did not know that Bone Fish allowed booths to be reserved but if that is true than I understand. What struck me was the person who sat us brought a couple to a table next to us and appeared not to want to sit there and said something to person seating them. That person, the same one who sat us, went up to the hostess and came back and she put the couple into an open booth. Now I am 99% sure they did not have a reservation, and if they did they did not reserve a booth. Long story short I think they wanted to balance the waiter load and keep the booths for later arrivals. I hate that practice because the restaurant should honor the customers request for seating, if possible, so hey enjoy their meal. I will try to reserve a booth the next time we go back. Secondly after we were seated a waiter took our drink order and it took over 10 minuets to get that drink. The restaurant was not full and the bar was empty. I have had this issue in the past at this Bone Fish and I can see if has not resolved this long delay in getting drinks out. Lastly I want to comment that in the past the manager would walk around and ask the customers if everything was OK. I did not see a manager for almost 1 hour and when I did he was running food to the tables. He did not even walk around just to observe what was going on. This is poor management when you do not keep an eye on what is going on in the dinning room to help prevent issues but also to address them quickly when they come up. Overall the food is always good but service is not what it used to be and I do not believe you can blame the issues on the Covid virus. Management is management regardless of the times. read more

DoorDash food delivery service was the only good thing about our meal. To start, I don't understand how a kitchen can't check an order before releasing for delivery as they missed giving us an ordered appetizer. Then on the value and quality side, a salad entree was smaller than a side salad at more than twice the price. I realize we expect to have delivery take-out served in plastic containers, but there are many casual restaurants in the area that take more pride in their product presentations than just plopping a piece of fish in a container. To top it off, our meal abruptly ended when we noticed two separate entrees had hairs in the packaging! DoorDash made adjustments on our bill, but this is not on them. Run, walk, drag your broken leg to the Bonefish Grill on Rockside in Independence Ohio and get their Tilapia Imperial! It is awesome. I hate tilapia with a passion because it has NO flavor and it tastes like paper but that chef turned it into something wonderful! It was stuffed with the food they must serve at the White House! If your doctor ever tells you that you will die soon make sure to have this dish as your last meal! It is stuffed with something that might be crab meat but for sure scallops and I HATE scallops. I want to be clear, I am only reviewing the fish n chips. Our server was awesome and my wife's meal and our appetizer were great, but I have to remark on the fish n chips. It was bad. I was suspicious when I was told the FnC was tilapia. I should have trusted my instincts. It is just not a good fish. I know a lot of people love it, but to me it tastes swampy in the way catfish and frog legs can. FnC should be made with haddock or cod. Period. I would never order this again from this restaurant. First time in the Cleveland area and decided to have dinner at BFG. The wait time was around 20-30 min, luckily we had friends holding seats for us in the bar. I don't remember our waitresses name but she was really nice and took care of our group. Wait times for food and drinks was not bad. We had crab cakes and calamari appetizers which were both great. For my entree I ordered Salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Salmon was cooked perfect, charred just right on the outside. If you're a seafood person, this place is great. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant! We went in on a Saturday about 6:00. They told us an hour wait, which we reluctantly said ok. My mother is temporarily in a wheelchair, making things a little more difficult. After waiting about 40 minutes, the manager came over and said I'm making this happen now. He seated us at a table. The waitress we had was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious, from the bread and olive oil to the fish. The manager stopped at our table a few times to make sure all was good. At the end of our meal he insisted we order a dessert on him. We ordered one creme brûlée to share. It was a chocolate creme brûlée, the most amazing dessert. We will be back soon!
