My GF and I were first timers here. We usually order one appetizer and one entree and share, but the menu was large and appealing so we decided to skip the appetizer and had two meals instead. The stuffed Cod was a little salty for me but I cook with low salt so almost all restaurant food is too salty for me. Otherwise it was a nice size portion and I would probably order it again. I also tried the pasta with shrimp. This dish was just a little spicy hot but was also a good size portion. I liked the bell peppers and artichokes in this dish. My last thought is about the cost of the meal. We did have 2 drinks and 2 beers with our meal, which by the way were very good! But with a tip we spent over a hundred dollars that night. Stopped by here to have dinner with a friend. The environment was nice and the restrooms were clean. We were seated immediately and the waitress came over quickly. The bang bang shrimp was an awesome appetizer and came out quickly from the kitchen. I pry the grilled salmon pan Asian style and the salmon was huge and cooked perfectly. My side orders were smashed potatoes and broccoli. Note: some sides have an upgraded charge like the Bacon Mac and cheese and asparagus. The waitress was attentive and super nice. I called in an order of imperial dip(trash) and the brownie dessert with ice cream. The imperial dip was so bland and cheesy and ewwwwwww I can't describe it. The BROWNIE...... omg! It's been a while since we hit Bonefish. So first thing I do is read the reviews - and it's pretty clear - a towering popular quality and service driven place - in the past - has settled into the middle - hit and miss - so we took our chances.....and the verdict - our experience was pretty good, but I can see how it will really depend on the day....which is usually the start of the cycle downward I am sad to say...but on this night - we ended up on the better side... - It's still a well taken care of place - not fancy, not casual, right in the middle. Walking in - you can see that it was upscale, but now, just sort of untended.....the check in desk is over to the right....and that's where you get a sense of - uh - oh.....no welcome, no greeting, they are not really happy to see you - it's just a job - no real service mentality - I had a reservation so we checked in - the gentleman behind the desk didn't even say hi or look me in the eye or smile - it was just check me off, get me seated. Not bad, but not good - this is staffing and training - this is the leaders of the place deciding that they are going to hire for purpose - not just fill roles....I get it's hard to get the right people - but if you don't try - this is what will happen - the cycle down.....I love what Ritz Carlton says - your customer experience will never outpace your employee experience - seems this is a place people work because it's a job - not because they want to be here - that is the sense you get at the front desk..... OK - it gets better (ish) from here......we were seated - and our server was Megan - who is probably a great person anyway - but we got service, eye contact, smile, personality, and care.....whatever you need to do to keep her - keep her.....if everyone was like her - this place would feel different.... The menu is nice - great actually - good bar selection, good food selection, they have found a good price point.....we started with drinks - old fashioned and a white winter cosmo - both were well prepared and delicious. Two appetizers - bang bang shrimp and imperial dip - both excellent. The dig was tasty, not too salty - the chips were an afterthought - just strewn there...the shrimp was it's usual great self - one of their claims to fame and it has not declined. Dinner was plank salmon, special of barramundi and shrimp/scallops - and you know what - these guys can cook. They do it fresh and well and that's a good thing. Sides were OK - the kung pao brussels were spectacular and the rest was OK - salads were nice - one caesar had a cup of dressing in it - so we had to replace that but it was done. Food runners had the same training as front desk - efficient but just getting their job done, no smile, no charm, no grace, no eye contact - just get the food out...... Overall for the three of us, 175 bucks - not bad given the quantity and quality of food.... Walking out - same thing - a good food experience, and you walk past a staffed front desk - not busy - who don't say a word....OK bye now..... We did see the manager walking around - and credit to her - she was working - but just making sure the train stayed on the track - no real customer focus... So do we go back - yeah - if we are in the neighborhood or meeting someone halfway, then sure - food is good and if you can deal with indifference from some things - and good luck with food - then sure....would we drive the 45 minutes? No- probably not...... Bonefish - think about what would make someone do that - drive the distance - where you feel welcome, tended to, good food, good quality....where employees are trained to actually care, not just check the boxes.....every employee.....there are places that do this - you can tell right away - those are the ones that get the repeat business.....restaurant experience is emotional - not just eating to eat - Bonefish used to have this - it's frustrating actually - to see a place that embodied greatness, slip like that, and it seems OK.....because it's getting the job done......I guess it will depend on what the job is.....but what they are doing is good, not great....3 stars it is. read more

We ordered from Bonefish Grill in Buford last night. This was borderline bad. The garlic mashed potato's are made from flake boxed potatoes. They were thin with no density at all. Frozen potatoes in the grocery store are better than this. We had two orders of crab cakes...sadly they are highly breaded frozen to bake version...I did everything I could to enhance them from lemon to my own sauce. Went to bonefish tonight and had a reservation for 545pm. When we checked in there were crowds of people waiting for their reservation. They were passing around some appetizers for people waiting but the lady passing them out was only taking it to select groups of people. We waited an hour for our reservation and then were told it would be another 20 minutes for a table. I understand they were busy but there was definitely preferential treatment for certain parties. The whole dinner took almost 3 hours. Even after we were seated and seated before other parties we were still late receiving our food and as we heard several apologies by the manager to other parties and receiving things for the inconvenience, but for whatever reason our time didn't seem to be as valuable as other peoples time. And then to top it off we were celebrating my uncles birthday and it was even too much trouble to comp a dessert. But on the other hand the other table who was waiting A man who seemed to be the manager stopped at a few tables to apologize for the experience but our table once again didn't make the cut. An absolute awful experience with the staff showing obvious favoritism towards patrons they deemed worthy of good customer service. read more

THE PERFECT SPOT FOR A QUIET, DIGNIFIED LUNCH! This restaurant is located on Buford Drive just west of the Mall of GA. If you are in the area shopping and want to get away from the congestion to enjoy a quiet meal, this is the place. I had been craving bang-bang shrimp for a while and I wanted it for lunch. However, my local Bonefish grill doesn't serve lunch so I considered the Buford location. Jackpot! Not only did they serve lunch until 3pm, their idea of lunch is NOT a sandwich and I really appreciated this. When we entered around 1 pm, it was very quiet so we were seated immediately and given menus. We could choose to eat from the lunch menu, the menu of specials or the full menu. Just know that menus vary from restaurant to restaurant so what might be available in your local restaurant might be vastly different from another location. The dessert that I wanted was not offered at this location. For my main, I chose the bang-bang shrimp and a side of coleslaw because I had eaten a late breakfast and didn't want anything too heavy. My husband chose a burger with a side of fries, (because he likes sandwiches). It takes a bit for your food to arrive as it is made fresh. In the mean-time, you will receive complimentary bread with infused olive oil for dipping. The bread was too done (hard), for me so I did not partake. Yet, my husband really enjoyed it and sopped up all of the oil. The one thing I can count with Bonefish is consistency, they always have great service and great food. My shrimp was delicious as expected and the coleslaw was not that heavy bland mayo version but was light and fresh with a kiss of vinegar. My husband really enjoyed his substantial burger and hot, delicious fries. The service was very nice because it was attentive without being intrusive. I love a table with white table cloths and cloth napkins as it easily elevates a simple meal. This restaurant is a great place for a quiet lunch because we have always been in those restaurants that are crazy loud and buzzing during the lunch hour and this was the exception. Bonefish Grill proved to be the perfect choice for a nice little date-lunch with my hubby. Definitely recommended. read more

I don't see how this place is in business. We arrived at 7pm for our reservation. We were finaly sat at 7:42 (yes, you read that correctly) The food that came out was disgusting. The swordfish was dry and hard as a brick (think very well done pork chop). All of us got broccoli and it was hard and just gross looking. My potatoes were very bland. Not even a hint of seasoning (garlic whipped). Even with salt and pepper they just tasted like fake powder potatoes. Now I won't lie, my ahi tuna steak itself was actually pretty good. My son had kids chicken tenders and fries which were all disgusting. Burnt chicken tenders that were mostly just breading. His fries were cold and soggy and just disgusting. Overcooked fish I'd never been to Bonefish Grill before and because I'm on a diet of mostly fish, thought I'd give it a shot. I ordered the grilled mahi mahi and couldn't have been more disappointed. The fish was dry and overcooked. Even the pan Asian sauce wasn't enough to add moisture to it. The broccoli was poorly seasoned and the only good item in my meal was the spinach. Guess I'll keep hunting for a good spot for healthy food when wanting to dine out. read more

Went here today for my husbands 75th birthday. What a mistake!!! The restaurant was practically empty and they said have a seat and wait for your allotted reservation which was 10 minutes away. I said why this place is empty. She said they have one waitress for the entire restaurant!!! Waitresses switched halfway. Food took quite awhile. My pork was way over cooked and in tiny pieces . So tough. My husband salmon was barely warm. A seafood place should at least give hot seafood and not over cooked pork. The whole experience was awful. Never again. read more

Our son chose Bonefish Grille to eat for his birthday dinner so we made a reservation for there. We were seated on time but that is when it went downhill. We waited at least 5 minutes for someone to come and take our drink order. Finally, thru the grace of God and perhaps the loud coughing from thirst, someone came. That should have been the first indication of trouble. Or orders were taken so we waited and waited and waited. Finally we asked for some bread and that took another 10 minutes. Then the server came and told us that one of us had to change our order because they were out of filets. Strike 2. After about another 30 minute wait, we finally received our food. The 2 filet plates had the wrong sides on it ( I guess the server could not read his own writing.) He fixed that but the filets looked like burnt shoes and the sides were cold. Finally when it came time to pay, I gave him a gift card. He came over to me to tell me that the card was no good in front of my party. Imagine my surprise when I showed him he was putting in the wrong number and the correct one worked when he put it in. After my face regained its original color back from embarrassment, we paid and left. I will never frequent this place again as the bill bill did not reflect the quality of food or service one expects from a reputable place. I was better off going to Mcdonalds! Luckily, my son (who was celebrating his birthday) took it in stride even though his order had to be changed. I only rate it one star because zero starts was not an option! read more

This restaurant is amazing and always one of my favorites. I always get something different because the menu is extensive with good food. Also, the service was amazing and the staff do a great job with providing good customer service. Furthermore, I had the Seafood Johnny Cakes + Eggs and I really enjoyed my meal because it was spicy and very flavorful. I would recommend this meal to anyone that is looking for a flavorful seafood dish with shrimp, crawfish and eggs. Also, you get at least six mini pancakes as a base and the spicy gravy over the meal. The porched eggs look good on the food but it is just add protein with no taste to the dish. My 10 year old and I went early on a Sat. afternoon (around 3/4pm) so we were able to beat the dinner crowd that we usually see there. The reason that I am only giving 2 stars is because the place nearly killed me! Pros: Chilean Sea Bass was delish and is one of my absolute favorites. The portion was perfect and the sauteed spinach beneath was yummy too. Our waiter was SO personable and he really made a difference in the overall experience Cons: Uhm... the huge metal screw that was in my succotash (sp). Yeah, picking up a fork filled with food and sharp metal objects is never a good dining experience. The manager was called and he apologized, advising that it must have fallen from the hanging rack that the plate was sitting under (makes you wonder what else might fall in there... ick). He offered to replace the meal (uhm, duh) and also offered my daughter free dessert. They still wanted me to pay for the meal though (which was over-priced). I was a bit shocked by that. I didnt even want the second plate after the initial experience Also had the bang-bang shrimp which was highly tauted as phenomenal...
