Lost our reservation, wsited an extra 45 minutes, my older parents had to sit on bench next to busy revolving door, bartender ignored me even though I was i facing her with a drink special card, ready to spend. When directed to our table they were still putting the table together and unorganized. Server jackets were filthy, Fathers Day features were not offered or upsold. Caeser salads came out wilted and seemed pre-made way in advance. Watched hostesses sipping drinks and standing behind the podium instead of doing actual work. Manager auctioned off food to the table and spoke with a guest at the table that was not the primary host of the party. Manager did comp 50% of the bill, which was a great move. We would have been willing to buy wine and specialty drinks and desserts however they were not offered. I think they were unprepared for the busy shift and didn't have it together. I wrote an email to the restaurant to avoid public review, but I got no response. We used to dine here 2-3 times every 6 months or so. I hope they figure it out. read more

The staff were Freindly and food was ok except the lobster was overcooked and the chicken was dry . Also while the waitress was clearing the table she accidentally spilled the hot butter sauce on me , ruined my brand new blouse . I was a bit hesitant coming here after reading some other reviews but I've always been curious about this place so I decided to give it a try! I loved the inside ambience and the table setup. Our server was amazing. He constantly refilled our drinks and always checked up on us to see how everything was tasting. We ordered the Shrimp Rangoon Salmon from the Daily Specials Menu and the Atlantic Salmon with the two speciality sides: seasoned vegetables (which was just broccoli) and jasmine rice. The Shrimp Rangoon Salmon was great! However, the creamy topping was a bit much for me. It was like a mixture of sour cream and cream cheese. It tasted fine but it was too creamy for the rest of my dish so I had just placed it to the side. The salmon was cooked medium well and it sat on top of a bed of spinach and jasmine rice. I loved the sweet chili sauce at the bottom. I was able to mix some of the sauce with my jasmine rice and it's delicious if you eat it together with the salmon. I wish there had been more pieces of shrimp included but the taste was great overall! Even the Atlantic Salmon was cooked nicely. It had a sort of peppery crust on top and if you squeeze your lemon wedge onto your salmon, the lemon juice and pepper together adds a great punch to the dish. I had a great experience! :) read more

We had a bad experience here about a month ago. Decided to give it another try based on the offer of the Managing Partner to come back. We had dinner and it was excellent in every respect. Quite a turnaround from the last visit. I had the plank salmon with mango chutney and my wife had the swordfish and pumpkin ravioli. They were both excellent and more like we would expect from Bonefish. Last time the bread was stale but this time hot and fresh. The server was also way better and more attentive. She offered good suggestions on drinks and dishes. The manager Max came by to check on us multiple times too. We hope they can make this experience the standard going forward. We will definitely be back and we appreciate the establishment owning the previous issues and working to fix them. A+ overall. read more

Very inconsistent with their #TakeOut orders whether it's us picking up or my using #DoorDash or #UberEats especially the last 4 months with the Chicken & shrimp dinner as well as Scallops w/shrimp dinner with mango salsa & Pan Asian sauces. This evening I think was it though because I had very overcooked shrimp and feel a bit sick from eating a piece and tomorrow is Easter Sunday. We moved here about 4yrs ago from the north and I never had this much inconsistency at all. For the first time ever, at any Bonefish I ever visited, I had a bad experience. First, the server was excellent. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass as I have many times before. I ordered the Parmesan Risotto, a winter special side dish. The food was delivered except I didn't get the risotto, they served Pumpkin Ravioli. It was horrible. The fish was perfect. Except for the long black hair on the plate. The Buford, GA location has always been good but this ruined me from going there anytime soon. I'll stick with other locations when I travel but a hair, especially one so obvious (black hair on a white plate) is inexcusable. Further to this review, the Managing Partner reached out to me for more information. She seemed genuinely concerned about my unsatisfactory experience and will hopefully use it to further improve service at this location. Although I still find sending out a meal with obvious contamination inexcusable, the manager seemed very concerned about this occurring. Asked for more bread. Ordered entrees, Sea Bass. It was a plate that would be served in a school cafeteria (and at a $36 price point) Sea Bass is expensive price was expected. Plates arrived and we didn't Touch it. It was NOT appetizing and the portion was terrible. It Looked over cooked and was the size of an appetizer. I asked for the manager. She explained that was their portion size. We sent it back and ordered something else. This time the creamed spinach had a ROCK in it!. I've eaten here before, NEVER AGAIN. My husband and I dined here Saturday night and our waiter, Vaughn, was excellent! He was very upbeat, friendly and professional. He was so engaging that we ordered more than we planned, using his recommendations, and were not disappointed. Even when he was given a table of 15, he was still attentive to us. We think he is one of the best waiters we've ever had. The reason this review is not a 5 star is because it took a while for his assistant to bring us our drinks and the food. Now, I've have visited this location many times before with my family. Sometimes only with my wife and I. The food has usually been decent with good portions. I'm not sure if it's the economy or something else, however this go around the food was just OK and the portion was very small. I can live with that every once in a while when it occurs and this typically not very often to some of the better restaurants. My only concern this go around was the waiter that took my order. Everything started off well. I initially ordered an Arnold Palmer as a drink and an appetizer, crab cakes, which I have no complaint. Decent size and cooked well. Although, typically we are offered complimentary bread with olive oil when we are seated, however, this was not offered to me. It was offered to a lady sitting in the booth next to me. Just an observation. For my entree, I ordered the Chilean Seabass with Lemon Capper Sauce, Creamed Spinach and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The entree was just OK, as the Seabass portion was very small (less than 4 ounces) and a tail section. Service was ok, however, at times extremely slow. I asked for a refill on my Arnold Palmer prior to beginning my entree, however, I actual got the refill after finishing my entree. Once I finished my meal, I asked for the check to paid for my meal. I provided the young blonde male waiter, Cameron, with my card. Waiter returned and informed me that my card did not process when he swiped it at the register, so he brought out the portable card reader. I said ok, but you probably have to insert the card, as it has a chip. We inserted the card, then he asked which level of gratuity (tip) I would like to select. I understand people rely on tips, so I tipped 15% on a $65 meal. If the service was a bit better, I would have tipped much more. Once the card processed the transaction, I was instructed that I am required to signed the receipt that is usually provided to me for audit purposes. This receipt has no signature block and I asked why is this manual signature required since the transaction has successfully process and this is somewhat unusual. I was informed it was for the establishment's audit purposes. Needless to say, I felt a bit insulted and will never patronize this establishment ever again. As this is a local restaurant, I usually try to support these local establishments and also felt it was convenient to grab a quick dinner on the way home, but will avoid from now on. As my mother-in-law was aware that we have visited this establishment frequently, she thought it was a good idea to give us BoneFish Grill gift cards. I never use these and will probably be gifting them to somebody else!!! read more

We love bonefish in general, but BFG in Buford was so warm and friendly and extremely accommodating. My husband and I don't get out much now that we have our new Little Man! We decided to take our 11-month old son to the Atlanta aquarium over the long Veterans' Day weekend, and we had to stop at BFG since we don't have one where we moved to. We decided to eat there the first night of our trip. They were super accommodating to our son and helped make our "night out" feel more like a date night not just dinner. Because of our phenomenal experience (and overall love of BFG), we decided to go back to Buford BFG the last night of our trip too. All of the staff remembered us and welcomed us like we were longtime friends! Will definitely be making it a point to go to Buford for BFG over anywhere else! Thanks guys! read more

Great food with a comfortable ambiance. The signature bang bang shrimp is always good and next to impossible to not order everytime I'm there. The special menu always contains amazing dishes and I rarely need to order off the regular menu that also contains great seafood dishes. They have an extensive wine list with something for every wine enthusiast. There is always a slight wait but they are quick to find you a seat and the bar area is first come first serve. Came here recently for an early dinner to use a gift card. We started off with cocktails, which did not disappoint. I had a cucumber margarita and watermelon martini & both were delicious! For my meal, I ordered the crab crusted cod with a side of rice, and a side house salad. I really enjoyed the house salad and the citrus herb vinaigrette dressing. Our server brought us out an extra ramekin of the lemon butter to pour over my fish, which was such a nice touch! Please be sure to ask for extra lemon butter if you order this, it makes all the difference! My GF and I were first timers here. We usually order one appetizer and one entree and share, but the menu was large and appealing so we decided to skip the appetizer and had two meals instead. The stuffed Cod was a little salty for me but I cook with low salt so almost all restaurant food is too salty for me. Otherwise it was a nice size portion and I would probably order it again. I also tried the pasta with shrimp. This dish was just a little spicy hot but was also a good size portion. I liked the bell peppers and artichokes in this dish. My last thought is about the cost of the meal. We did have 2 drinks and 2 beers with our meal, which by the way were very good! But with a tip we spent over a hundred dollars that night. I haven't spent that much for dinner for 2 people in a very long time No appetizers and no desserts. I plan to go back to try some of the other appetizers. Maybe during happy hour. read more

It's been a while since we hit Bonefish. So first thing I do is read the reviews - and it's pretty clear - a towering popular quality and service driven place - in the past - has settled into the middle - hit and miss - so we took our chances.....and the verdict - our experience was pretty good, but I can see how it will really depend on the day....which is usually the start of the cycle downward I am sad to say...but on this night - we ended up on the better side... - It's still a well taken care of place - not fancy, not casual, right in the middle. Walking in - you can see that it was upscale, but now, just sort of untended.....the check in desk is over to the right....and that's where you get a sense of - uh - oh.....no welcome, no greeting, they are not really happy to see you - it's just a job - no real service mentality - I had a reservation so we checked in - the gentleman behind the desk didn't even say hi or look me in the eye or smile - it was just check me off, get me seated. Not bad, but not good - this is staffing and training - this is the leaders of the place deciding that they are going to hire for purpose - not just fill roles....I get it's hard to get the right people - but if you don't try - this is what will happen - the cycle down.....I love what Ritz Carlton says - your customer experience will never outpace your employee experience - seems this is a place people work because it's a job - not because they want to be here - that is the sense you get at the front desk..... OK - it gets better (ish) from here......we were seated - and our server was Megan - who is probably a great person anyway - but we got service, eye contact, smile, personality, and care.....whatever you need to do to keep her - keep her.....if everyone was like her - this place would feel different.... The menu is nice - great actually - good bar selection, good food selection, they have found a good price point.....we started with drinks - old fashioned and a white winter cosmo - both were well prepared and delicious. Two appetizers - bang bang shrimp and imperial dip - both excellent. The dig was tasty, not too salty - the chips were an afterthought - just strewn there...the shrimp was it's usual great self - one of their claims to fame and it has not declined. Dinner was plank salmon, special of barramundi and shrimp/scallops - and you know what - these guys can cook. They do it fresh and well and that's a good thing. Sides were OK - the kung pao brussels were spectacular and the rest was OK - salads were nice - one caesar had a cup of dressing in it - so we had to replace that but it was done. Food runners had the same training as front desk - efficient but just getting their job done, no smile, no charm, no grace, no eye contact - just get the food out...... Overall for the three of us, 175 bucks - not bad given the quantity and quality of food.... Walking out - same thing - a good food experience, and you walk past a staffed front desk - not busy - who don't say a word....OK bye now..... We did see the manager walking around - and credit to her - she was working - but just making sure the train stayed on the track - no real customer focus... So do we go back - yeah - if we are in the neighborhood or meeting someone halfway, then sure - food is good and if you can deal with indifference from some things - and good luck with food - then sure....would we drive the 45 minutes? No- probably not...... Bonefish - think about what would make someone do that - drive the distance - where you feel welcome, tended to, good food, good quality....where employees are trained to actually care, not just check the boxes.....every employee.....there are places that do this - you can tell right away - those are the ones that get the repeat business.....restaurant experience is emotional - not just eating to eat - Bonefish used to have this - it's frustrating actually - to see a place that embodied greatness, slip like that, and it seems OK.....because it's getting the job done......I guess it will depend on what the job is.....but what they are doing is good, not great....3 stars it is. read more

I am swaying between rating a 3 and a 4. It was our first time here. My husband said he would go back. If my choice only, I likely would not because it was just ok. It was around 7:30pm on a Thursday. Greeted quickly, place was clean, very well air-conditioined. Not real busy. Server was nice. We shared appetizers of Bang Bang Shrimp and the corn chowder soup and entrees of Fish and Chips and Cod Imperial. Also came with bread. Appetizers: First the bread and soup came out. The bread was just ok - not warm. Sliced pretty part way through but knife would not easily cut so had to use hands to rip pieces off. The soup was lukewarm. Understandable since the bowl was very wide and shallow so would not retain heat in a cold room. A bit bland but improved with salt and pepper. Bang Bang Shrimp came out hot and cooked well. My husband loved and said he would go back just for that. Entrees: I got the Cod Imperial with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Broccoli. Potatoes flavorful. The cod was a bit overcooked. A bite with stuffing was ok but dry if just the fish alone. The Broccoli was ok at first. Cooked well but had a sauce on it that for the first bite was good but when cooled off, solidified and left a greasiness in the mouth. Ate all the potatoes but left most of the fish and broccoli. My husband liked the Fish and Chips. Fish nicely brown and cooked well. Fries good but he couldn't eat some of the them because the malt vinegar side had splashed during during delivery, getting into the ketchup and on some of the fries and is just not a flavor he likes. Overall, just ok but not special. Settled on the 4 because he was happy and said he would go back for the shrimp. read more

We've been to many BFG's. We are even members of their dining rewards program. We came here on a trip to the area when we just felt like enjoying happy hour bites and not a full dinner meal. As it was a holiday (Memorial Day), it turns out that it was happy hour all day. It was not busy at all inside where it was quite dark. I've been on a kick lately for soft-shell crabs. There's a very short season so I get my grill when I can. All bonefish locations have been running a special on them lately. This location too had them on their menu. So, I ordered their soft shell crab special as an appetizer. It is stuffed with a crab cake. Usually it is creamy and buttery and melt in your mouth. This location had a spicier more peppery crab cake with a different texture so it was not nearly as good as our favorite Fort Lauderdale Bone Fish Grill versions. Not that it wasn't edible, but it didn't live up to my previous experience with the same dish just a couple weeks ago. My husband also felt that his codfish sliders weren't as good in this location as in other locations where he's had them before. Maybe the regular chef was off for the holiday?? We ordered from Bonefish Grill in Buford last night. This was borderline bad. The garlic mashed potato's are made from flake boxed potatoes. They were thin with no density at all. Frozen potatoes in the grocery store are better than this. We had two orders of crab cakes...sadly they are highly breaded frozen to bake version...I did everything I could to enhance them from lemon to my own sauce.
