Bonefish Grill is an experience you must take part in, but don't let the name fool you, it's not just the seafood. I really don't know where to start my review since there is so much to say. I live in Allen and I can honestly say that Allen needed a place like this. I didn't realize Bonefish was here until today. Upon entering the restaurant, there is a clean feeling of casual elegance. You are made to feel welcome upon entering and seated in a great looking ambiance that takes you away from Allen. The service is incredible, which coincides with the food; it is equally awesome. The bar area is beautiful. I love the attitude of the bartenders, they are friendly and non-obtrusive, yet involved enough to keep you entertained. It is evident a restaurant takes quality and service seriously, you end up with not just a meal, but an experience. Bonefish is a great way to spoil yourself and enjoy a great meal with family and friend. The sliders were incredible. The Alaskan Cod sliders are a perfect blend and just enough to leave you wanting more. The Wagyu sliders are equally delicious. Who would think a Seafood restaurant would make a Beef Slider so awesome? The food at this point was hypnotizing and I was impressed to the point that it couldn't get any better. So I thought. A meal here wouldn't be a meal unless you order the crispy Au Gratin tots; these "taters" make you so happy you want to dance like a little kid with the only bowl of ice-cream in the room. I can't cover everything I tried here tonight, so I'm going to cover my favorites. The Georges Bank Sea Scallops were magical. I've never typically been a Scallop fan, but Bonefish has converted me and they will be on my plate next time I visit. The Muscles Josephine was equally divine and left me wanting more. Their seafood had me hearing the Ocean. The Salmon.... Oh my goodness, the Salmon... did I mention the Salmon? Served on a plate on top of a wooden platter, it was the best thing I touched with my fork. The Salmon was honestly an emotional experience. It was perfectly cooked and tasted like nothing I've had before. With a glazed honey mustard sauce that was just the right level of influence, it was cooked to perfection. Dare I say dessert? I had the doughnuts which were super yummy, but then the Fresh Strawberry Shortcake came out; I was captured and ready to ask for a box to bring the leftovers home.... Whoops, no leftovers, FINISHED IT, bought the t-shirt. Oh yeah, almost forgot, I had a blueberry Martini when I first arrived. I've never had a blueberry martini before, but it's now part of my routine. I would go so far as to say when I come back, it is my signature drink.... Well, after wine of course... must have wine always. As I said before, Allen needed a place like this, I'm glad I finally had an opportunity to try this place and I'm looking forward to a long relationship with Bonefish. read more

This restaurant has good bones, pun intended but just misses the mark with the details. After being seated we waited almost 10 mins before our server greeted us. We have a 6 and 2 year old so we ordered our drinks and food at once. I asked that the kids get there food first. With that said we saw a bunch of tables getting bread but we had t get even with antsy kids. Finally our drinks come and there was no lemon for the iced tea, and we were not even asked if we wanted sugar. Details. Then we finally were brought some bread but then my husband and I's food comes out and the kids is nowhere to be seen. My kids were going bonkers and finally their food cane out but nearly 5 mins after our food did. Details! Also we ordered the mahi and shrimp and it was not served with lemon. Details. And they serve shrimp but don't have cocktail sauce although they mixed some up for me. Details. My husband loved his food, I thought is was just okay, and only one of my daughters liked her food which was the Mac and cheese. My other daughter was not a fan of her fish and chips. Overall I bet my hubby will drag us back but it is not my first pick. The missed opportunities here are insane! If they could just work a bit more in the details this place would be much much better. read more

We got a gift card for our wedding for a date night, it was nice to go to a place we had never been. Friday night, we were seated quickly for a party of 3. Our waiter was awesome! He was friendly, down to earth and appropriately chatty. He went over the specials, but wasn't pushy. He was on top of our orders throughout the entire meal including checking from afar. Food was delicious. Pesto and olive oil and fresh warm bread is served to everyone. Crab cake appetizer was so good. Lots of flavor and meaty. Sauce was spicier than expected, but good nonetheless. Meals were all good. Very tasty, flavorful and fresh. The meals we ate and observed looked fresh and healthy. The lobster tails look so good, may have to get the next time we visit. Bonefish Grill is another one of my best friend's favorite restaurants which is why I had to try it. The first time, I got takeout and ordered the Chilean sea-bass and bang bang shrimp which were both delicious. Last night, I went to dine in with family and we ordered the bang bang shrimp (half priced on Wednesday's), salmon with green beans and cheesy potato grits and the blackened fish tacos. Everything tasted amazing but my favorite was the salmon and the potatoes. Omg those potatoes were dreamy! The restaurant has a classy and romantic vibe to it. Yet, it's good for taking children too. Loved the glass fish artwork on the wall and the cool wine cellar display. Our server Austin was super nice and provided exceptional service! We were too full to order desserts but will definitely try it next time. It was a great dining experience. First time buying food here. I brought the sirloin and shrimp plate which is almost $30. I asked for mashed potatoes and instead of mashed potatoes they gave me dry rice, the steak looks nothing like the one in the picture, I asked for very well done which they didn't do either. Finally some awesome fish in Allen/Mckinney! It's funny just the other week my hubby commented that we need a good fish restaurant. We asked, now our wish was granted. I started with the Blackberry Sangria and it was perfectly sweetened with blackberries and the tart of the wine. It was really a remarkable Sangria for a fish place. We ordered an appetizer of calamari. I loved how it was presented with sliced pepperoncinis. It also was paired with a spicy flavorful dipping sauce. Then was the best part of the meal. the Crab and Corn Chowder could have been a meal in itself. It was the perfect pairing of lump crab meat and creamy chowder. I ordered the Imperial Tilapia. It is a Tilapia stuffed with shrimp, scallops, crabmeat + lemon caper butter. I love all things seafood so this was the perfect meal that has all my LOVES! It was amazing! I have gone here now on Mother's Day and with the in-laws. The bread with olive oil in the beginning is SO good. If you don't like garlic or you shouldn't have it, beware. I've had the Alaskan fish dish and wedge salad. I like this wedge salad MUCH better than what I had before! The add on to the main dish is just the right size. Bang Bang Shrimp! If you come here, that's what you should order. It might be hard to share though because it's so delicious! P.S. It's half off on Wednesday during happy hour (4-6:30pm)! Unfortunately our bang bang shrimp came out the same time as our food. The manager recognized that and was nice to comp us for it, even though we didn't ask him to. We've been to Bonefish Grill at several of their other locations and were super excited when we saw the sign come up that the new restaurant being built was going to be bonefish! We went on a Tuesday and they had a hooked up Tuesday 3 course dinner, where you basically get free salad and desert. I had their Caesar salad, one of the best I've had. For my main course, I got the Tuna steak with Mango salsa. The tuna was a bit more cooked than I would have liked though. I finished off with their key lime pie. pecans are added to their crust making much yummier. My husband had their pecan crusted trout. I like his dish more than my mine. They have a nice selection of dishes on the kids menu, which comes with a side and drinks. We were seated at the bar area and I was a little worried the kids might fall. Straight to the point - definitely enjoyed my experience here. Good place for date or celebration with friends/family. I walked in and was greeted immediately and the service was very nice. Immediately, they attended to drinks and ask I had any questions. We had the shrimp, house salad, scallops and salmon pairing and glass of wine. This restaurant is conveniently located in the Allen outlet mall area, just off highway 75. We came here on a Tuesday because I heard from my friend that every Tuesday they offer a three-course meal at a discounted price starting from $14.90. Not a bad deal. So my wife and I decided to give it a try. First of all, the complementary bread was fresh. We all liked the pesto dipping oil, which had a nice fresh herb flavor. We liked it so much that we asked for another loaf of bread. For entrees, I ordered a steak with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes as sides. My wife ordered a lobster tail with sautéed spinach and broccoli. My steak was nicely grilled, juicy, and delicious, but it was not as tender as I had thought. Don't get me wrong. It was not tough, but just not as easy to cut. Maybe the steak knife was not as sharp. I had to really make an effort to slice it. The garlic mashed potatoes were very tasty with nice garlic flavor. I would get it again next time as we don't usually put garlic in mashed potatoes. But I would avoid the green beans, which were not fully cooked. I hope it was just a rare occasion. I would eat any vegetables raw. But for beans or bean sprouts, the raw taste is very strong and unsavory. I'm not saying the green beans were raw, but could be cooked more thoroughly. The lobster my wife ordered was very delicious. Seldom do we eat this cetacean thing. She was graciously enough to let me try a bite. I dipped it in a bath of butter, which was kept warm with a nice little candle burner. The meat was fresh, tender and buttery. I would like to have another bit, but it was too much to ask for because the tail was not that big for two people. The spinach and broccoli were decent. Nothing to brag about. Side note: One reason we don't go to a seafood restaurant that often is that we LOVE seafood. Whenever we get our hands on seafood, we eat till we're stuffed to the point that we say oh no we can't eat any more. As seafood is pricy, we're just not wealthy enough to get the "fullness" feeling at a fancy seafood restaurant. Anyway, by the time we were almost done and the waitress asked us what desserts we liked, we were very full already (not with the lobster, but the two loaves of bread). We got the cheese cake and the coconut pie. Both were really good. We could finish only half of them and box home the leftovers. The décor is nice and classy. The only thing I felt was the tables were laid out too close. The back of my neighbor's chair bumped into mine when he got up. The service was great. The waitress was very courteous and friendly. I wanted it to be blackened extra extra black which it was better than I thought but nothing compared to Cajun restaurants I like in Louisiana. I got a Cesar salad, entree with two sides, and dessert for $14.9. My boyfriend got filet mignon normally over $20 and he got it for $20.7 with salad and dessert basically for free. They had a lot of good appetizers I would like to try. One is bang bang shrimp which reminds me of Lucy's retired surf bar in Baton Rouge. They have half off price during happy hour on Wednesdays. Our waiter was nice and pretty accommodating. Two minor complaints the bread, salad and entree were all brought out almost back to back just felt overwhelmed. First time visitor last night for dinner. It looks really nice outside, so I wasn't surprised when it was fancy looking inside as well. The prices are somewhat fancy as well ranging from teens to upper 20's. They recommended the bang bang shrimp for appetizer, so I opted for the shrimp tacos with fries. You get 3 tacos. My husband got the surf and turf. You get complimentary bread for an appetizer, but our waiter made us wait 20 minutes for it after we ordered..which was probably 10 minutes before our meal came out so I wasn't sure if that was on purpose or not. The shrimp for sure was banging, but the tacos in general were just lettuce, tomatoes, and 3-4 pieces of shrimp. (You get more stuff from Torchy's Tacos, just saying.) The fries on the other hand were battered and fried to exactly my liking. It reminded me of Rally's fries. Now if only they were seasoned, then I would come here just for the fries...(drool) The surf and turf was nothing special. My husband ordered the sautéed spinach on the side as well as the mashed potatoes which were nothing fancy. The crab cake was falling apart and the steak was really salty on the edges like they dipped it in the margarita glass salt rimmer. But inside the steak was juicy and cooked to medium rare. I understand it is going to be busy because of this day, but I would rather wait for food to be done right instead of them quickly getting food out to turn the tables. I ordered the Mahi Mahi family bundle for myself and some friends. I went to pick the order up. They send a text saying you'll receive a text when your meal is ready. I sat out there for awhile before I called to be told the text doesn't work I was would need to call. I received the link that my food was ready 20 mins after I left the restaurant. I get home to plate the Mahi Mahi. It was just thrown in the box like someone's left overs. I called back to speak with a manager who had an attitude and basically begin with saying well I'm sorry it's not aesthetically pleasing. So I said well I can email it to you because you seem to think I'm just making it up. This is my first order to go order from Bonefish but I've been inside and it doesn't come like this. Once I sent her the email she then changed her tone and attitude. Saying she would speak with the r team and the gush doesn't come uniform anymore. Which was never the problem in the first place it was just split up in so many pieces and thrown together. I'm not sure why there was attitude in the first place. This was my second visit to Bonefish Grill (we live in Dallas otherwise I'd be taking advantage of their impressive happy hour much more often!). Don't be fooled by the average chain restaurant appearance on the outside, once inside you're transported into a nice, modern dining experience without the hefty price tag. Sit at the bar area with cozy high tops and enjoy a pretty solid happy hour with $5 martinis and a good variety of $6 bites, everyday, 4-6:30. We ordered drinks, dinner and some apps among our group of 4. Do NOT pass up the potstickers. I'm usually meh about potstickers but we ended up ordering them twice because they were so tasty -- and the sauce they're drizzled in is heaven, totally drinkable! My husband ordered the salmon and thought it was very well cooked and flavorful. I ordered the sirloin for dinner and it was okay. Nothing I would order again for lack of flavor, but then again it wasn't the nicest cut on the menu. Our friends had the blackened fish tacos and loved them, but were less excited about their tuna bowl (wishing I could recall why). Our first visit was a special Yelp event and they served a specialty salmon cooked on a cedar plank with some insanely delicious sauce. I am so not a fish person (unless it's fried) and I ate the ENTIRE dish - that's how good it was. I asked our server what it was and he knew what I was describing right away, but sadly it's a seasonal dish. I'll have to keep my eye out for next time it's featured! Everytime we go here the food is amazing! Today a man looking for work stopped into to ask the manager for free food. My Girl and I offered to pay for this ex marines meal. We sat and chatted with this man and God was totally in it! The manager paid for his meal!!! The wait staff is top notch friendly, and curtious.
