Well, first of all....no heat in the joint and it's 40 degrees outside today. Young lady behind the counter was kind enough to offer hot tea in spite of. Service seemed slow for a lunch time of day. Most importantly to me----my fav---the salmon alvecado ball was weak! Super small for $10 ...taking home to finish. They even left bones in the salmon. Really? The location is Hyattsville puts this one to shame. Don't think I'll be back . UPDATE: after getting home to sit down and eat it....turns out the thing is RAW!!!! They seared the top of the salmon but didn't bother to remove the bones or cook It thoroughly. DEFINITELY won't be back. What's worse....tried I contact them back on the number posted on receipt and here....no answer after like 10 rings and doesn't go to voicemail. What a business ! Done! My daughter introduced me to BonChon and I became a fan instantly. The concept is an Asian & American restaurant with an addicting taste. One of the items on the menu is chicken wings, which I love. BonChon serves this entree made to order so it's always fresh & hot! There are other entrees on the menu I would like to try as well. I always seen the restaurant passing by but never tried it. Heard about this place from friends, tried it on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I ordered 20 wings, 10 spicy, 10 garlic soy and an order of steamed shrimp dumplings. The chicken is pricey, but I was determined to try it. My order took about 10 minutes to prepare. The restaurant is small and was busy but not packed. My plan was to take it home to enjoy the first taste with my husband. I reached as far as the car, when I could no longer resist! I decided to try a piece before I got on the road. I pulled a wing out of the box; they are jumbo size and split in half between drums and wing tips. They were piping hot, the steam escaped the box as I snuck one out. One bite...these wings are the truth! Golden crispy deliciousness! The one I had was the ginger soy, they were so crispy you would have thought I was eating potato chips! My husband and I tried the spicy, they are super hot. We're both lovers of spicy food, but don't kid yourself, these are some hot wings!! The steamed dumplings were kind of bland, I wouldn't get them again. The wings were so big, I ate 4 and he ate 6. Please bring back the chicken strips!!! The previously frozen boneless chicken wings they're serving now do not cut it. We love this location and the staff that work there, and were so sad to find out they stopped making the our favorite item- the chicken strip. It's been replaced with a sad, overly breaded chicken finger like product that you'd find in the frozen section of Costco. It doesn't absorb the sauce well and just gets soggy. When we lived in the area we'd frequent this BonChon several times a month, and we still drive 40 minutes out of our way to go to this location since it was so much better than our local BonChon. If this is a permanent change I don't think we'll be making the drive anymore. Please bring them back! read more

Delicious soy garlic wings! They were super crispy and flavorful. I wish there was a way to get extra sauce. I was surprise that it doesn't come with a side of rice like the other locations. Bad Service...Its been a while since we've been there..usually good service...good food...We visited them today...took us 10 minutes to be seated...they were taking a to go order and the people placing the order had no idea what they wanted....understandable... but they should have set us. This is my least favorite location I've been in. My husband and I wanted to try the whole menu but because we've been disappointed with many, we decided to stick to their fried chicken as the only reason we still go here is because it's the closest location. Let's start with their chicken. The chicken they use are large, therefore, it's the older chicken as they are tougher though it has more flavor they do have that gaminess in the flavor. The breading however is good as they use potato starch to keep it crispy. Bibimbap is bland. I've never gone to any Bonchon location, and wasn't even sure what type of food they had, but as soon as we saw "wings" on the large wall art of words, we were sold. Upon entering, no one greeted us, despite the amount of people behind the counter. So I do think they need to improve on that, because I noticed others saying the same thing in their review. Anyways, we sat ourselves and our server brought us a menu. The menu is small, and prices are a little high, but we came for wings/drums combo so that's what we got. You can choose spicy or soy garlic wings, or half and half. We got the spicy wings, they were super spicy at first but then I got used to it and the flavor was great! I called ahead to order and they told me 30 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes later and it was just coming out of the kitchen, perfect timing! They accidentally gave me fried rice instead of my soup, but the gentleman working dashed after me to my car to correct the mistake. Thanks! I had udon soup, pork buns, and kimchi. The soup and kimchi were good but not amazing in comparison to, say, what I could get at H-Mart. The kimchi and soup both only had one note of flavor. I would definitely eat them again because it's local and it was decent! The pork buns were delicious! I would eat them every time I go there. The only downside is there was a very thick layer of fat (not crisped) on the bottom of each pork piece which I ended up just tearing off before putting the pork back in the bun. It was way too thick and chewy to try to eat. They are a bit pricey, paid about $25 for those three things, but I can't say I'm hungry afterward and easily could have made 2 meals out of it if I hadn't been starving to begin with. Overall, solid 3 stars and would go back if I was in the area and had time to kill waiting for the order. There aren't many places around here that even have kimchi on the menu, so that's a big plus. read more

This was my first time coming to this location. The staff was really friendly and they seemed excited to be at work. Love the decor- very modern..I should have checked to see if they had wifi...That would have been perfect! During my visit, my date and I ordered a small plate of wings, which is a quantity of 10 wings (half soy garlic - half spicy), seasoned french fries (SOO GOOD), fried calamari, and shrimp tacos in place of the Korean Tacos. The wings were fresh out the fryer, the fries were delish, but the fried calamari was a fail. I think the chef left them in the oil too long so they weren't as good as they could have been. Also, the shrimp used in the tacos were mad tiny. We really appreciated the chef for accommodating our party but we were pretty shocked to see the size of the shrimp. The sauce was great, but the size....could use an upgrade. Overall, we have a decent experience eating in. I think I'll opt for take out next time. After all, its getting cold out! read more

My husband and I ordered katsu chicken, wings, popcorn chicken, fried rice w/chicken and seasoned fries. The fries were my favorite my daughter liked the fried rice and husband his wings. The popcorn and katsu were very dry and over cooked. The chicken seemed to be dipped in a sauce and wiped completely dry. Not great whatsoever. It was not worth the $56. I don't see us going back unless we want fries. The staff is friendly though. And the whole place smells like cabbage...I guess that's what they use the most. It's clean inside too. The chicken is still great as always, and they've managed to cut the wait time down to about 10 to 15 mins, which is the average wait time you'd expect after ordering at a sit down. Once I showed my valid ID the server said he needed to take my ID so he could scan it. At that point I told him that I was done with this place.
