Been meaning to come by to try them out for a while now, I'm glad to have had a chance to eat here today. The vibe is pretty chill, the service was friendly and excellent. I ordered 10 of their $1.00 wing + soda I should have ordered the max of 15 wings, (5 soy garlic and 5 Yangnyeom) both taste good!, I may also order their fries next time. The place has a sports bar kind of vibe and kept clean

Wings - garlic soy (tasted too salty)

Undecided for dinner, came back for their $1 wing special, this is the only thing I'd like tonight. Ordered the Korean sweet corn, did not like it, way too much mayonnaise, that's all I tasted! Also ordered new item that had rice, hotdog, egg, topped with mayonnaise and ketchup, did not like it, the mayonnaise and ketchup did not go well with the other flavors, this was just bad, wasted calories! Regardless of the bad food, we had great customer service, thanks, Jaser!

Came here today for lunch...get here when they open...because the tables fill up quickly. Thankfully I got there when they did open. The staff was and is very friendly...to all the customers...the staff was very accommodating and took care of everyone. They are great. They have a great menu and a lunch-special menu...I ordered from the lunch-special menu. I guess the negative...if there is one, this is one of many restaurants that offer chicken with lots of flavors to add and it's expensive. There are sooooo many chicken places offering hot and spicy chicken or Korean fusion or tex-mex...you know what I mean...so many specialty chicken places that for some reason, charge an arm and a leg for a wing and a leg. See what I did there! All that being said, Bonchon's chicken is very good. I'd eat here again. I can get a great meal at El Pollo Loco and spend less...and once in a while spoil myself and spend more to eat here. I hope you understand my review...with tax and tip, just water and lunch special, $20.00. To be fair...it's getting expensive to eat out everywhere even for chicken. In close...come to this location you won't be disappointed.

I came right when they opened at 11 am and got seated right away. They had a deal for $1/wing, up to 15 pieces. I decided to get the wings with yangneom sauce. The wings had the right amount of crispness to it The crunch was nice and loud. The sauce was more sweet than spicy. Overall I would come here again for the deal.

It seems like they're running promotions like $1 wing because they're trying to increase business . I tried to come in and was going to miss last seating. I called to be considerate. They were not willing to seat me and were using that to reject letting me order at promo price. Like I'm willing to tip as if I'm dining in and I'm willing to bounce to let the staff go home. Seems strange to turn away business. EDIT: so instead of internally forwarding the concern, you had me go through a bunch of form replies for a canned response reply from corporate. Smh

4 wings, 2 drumsticks, and side of rice for lunch special

Recently went to bonchon for the first time after years. It is better than I remember. I ordered online which was super easy and got a combo which was 4 wings, 2 drumsticks, and a side of your choice of cold slaw, rice, or radish. I picked rice and chose soy garlic. Total was $13.99 +0.99 convenience fee and $1.47 tax...didn't realize there was a convenience fee until looking at it now but don't love that. I might've ordered from a third party but I thought it was their website. Food was better than I remember. It was pretty crunchy and tasty exterior, however I remember the interior meat was okay. I think I prefer bbq chicken the chain more, but it is down main street so a bit further for me. Service was great - it was a quick interaction since I just went to pickup but the cashier told me they were doing $1 wings the month of January 2026 (?) for dine in only on weekdays I believe. I would've done that had I known! Didn't experience much ambiance since I got to go but it was chill and not crowded, but I went on a random Wednesday afternoon. I would go again out of convenience, but not my favorite Korean fried chicken spot for sure.

What I got: Yangyeom Chicken Soy Garlic Chicken Sides of coleslaw and radish Tteokbokki Omurice K Sandwhich Chicken with Fries I love this place! It's very popular in Korea and I first tried it in Boston! Their chicken is very crispy and tasty! I love the double frying, making the chicken really crunchy ! They also have other Korean food options and side dishes. All the food that I got was really good and tasty! They have a lot of options for alcoholic and nonalcoholic drink. The service is amazing, friendly and food came out really fast. The ambiance is casual, plenty of seating inside and they have plenty of tv at the bar and the regular seating as well! Perfect place to hang out, drink and watch your favorite sports game. They also have a deal going on Every Monday-Thursday All Day $1 wings limited 15 wings per person max . I would definitely comeback here to try other dishes and chicken flavors.

Got the sampler platter and a k chicken sandwich with the Korean bbq sauce. Everything was fkng delicious. And they had "slide" by Calvin Harris and frank ocean on the speakers. Good vibes.

First time here with my coworkers, and overall it was a great experience. The vibe is super chill and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a group outing. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive from the start they walked us through the specials and popular items, which we really appreciated. We decided on the Seoul Sampler, and it was 100% worth it. You get a little bit of everything from their most popular dishes, which made it perfect for sharing. We also ordered wings, plus sides of onion rings and fries. Everything was delicious. The onion rings were especially crispy and flavorful, the street corn, and Bulgogi fries were one of my top favorites so good. The wings were nice and crispy, though the soy garlic sauce was a bit salty for my personal taste. That said, the service really stood out our drinks were refilled before we even had to ask. Great food, great service, and a solid spot I'd definitely come back to.

Had dinner here after a long day in the office. Nothing beats a cold beer and some Korean fried wings! Great timing too, it was $1 wings special. Once we walked in we were greeted and seated shortly. Service is always great here and it's a nice and clean Korean fried chicken spot. I love coming here. My friend even cheated on her gluten free diet just to eat here lol.

Came here for their Monday through Thursday $1 wing special, which is back. We ordered the maximum 15 wings per person, for 2 people, so we got 15 soy garlic and 15 spicy flavored wings. We sat down an hour before closing and they were very attentive. We got our order shortly after ordering and they were all tender, hot and crispy. We also added a side of white rice and pickled radish. Soy garlic and spicy are still our 2 go to flavors. Though the spicy is less spicy than some previous, it's more enjoyable for us. Tonight it was 7/10 spicy; just right. We also got a fountain diet coke which had complimentary refills. Helps with taming the heat from the spicy wings. I also normally order the mapo corn dog and fries, but not tonight as we weren't feeling as hungry. If you haven't tried the mapo corn dog, it's worth a try! All in all, great service. Food was fresh and delicious. Free parking in parking lot. Lots of spaces late at night on weekday. Still highly recommend!

    Absolutely delicious!

My second time here for lunch 5 minutes away from my office, they have a special for dine in and I absolutely love it! 1$/ per wings. Great service as well, will def come back as a regular. Henry, thank you for greeting customers with a smile no matter what time of day. & food is great!

    Medium 4 drums, 8 wings
    May W.

Medium 4 drums, 8 wings: The drums are about 3/4 size of the radish bowl and the wings were pretty much half the size of the radish bowl. Side radishes were so crunchy with their bite sized pieces. What makes their wings stand out from the rest is that it's lightly coated with sauce that sticks onto the outer layer of the wings. Side of cole slaw: The cole slaw was pretty light and refreshing. Parking: Apparently, there's valet for their parking lot. Side street parking available.

    Are the chicken wings breaded?

Yes. Korean style breading then dipped again and fried again. Delicious.

What's time is your last seating? I was standing in line around 8:28 pm today 3/31 then staff attended to me at 8:30 and was told I can only order to go. I've come at least a couple occasions and was still seated at 8:30.

Is your fried chicken gluten free?

No sorry, our traditional recipe calls for the chicken to be coated in flour before it is twice fried in vegetable oil.

Are you guys open on Veterans Day?

Yes, we have been open every year for Veteran’s day. Sorry for the delay on the response. We always try to do our best to keep the Yelp site updated with current hours.

You still offer the family meal? I don't see it on the website

Hi. Do you still offer the family meal?

    Yes we do.

    Is your chicken halal?

No sorry. We prepare our chicken in a traditional twice fry process the true Korean way!

Is your fried chicken free of any fish or seafood sauce? I want to order but someone in my party is allergic to seafood and seaweed.

We don’t use any fish or seafood sauce in the preparation of our chicken. It is fried using soybean oil.

Hi Isabelle, we are pushing back our reopen date to Mon 7/13. My apologies for the inconvenience but that is a pretty firm date now at this point. We appreciate your patronage and hope to see you soon!

Yes absolutely, we just cannot provide any of the proprietary sauces on the side as the Franchise does not allow that.

I like Bomb Chicken more. My SO likes Bonchon more partly because it can be made spicier. Bonchon is also a larger place with a more restaurant feel rather than fast food and has way better service.

Since I'm a huge seafood lover, I ordered the Thai royal curry with lobster tail, lime steamed Chilean sea bass and the royal crown fried rice. This was my first time trying curry and I found it delicious, I'd love to visit Star Leaf again specifically for this dish. I really enjoyed the texture of the fish roe on top of the fried rice - I've never had something like this before. I also ordered the truffle wok seared noodles with beef (I liked the mushrooms in this dish). For dessert, I had the Vietnamese coffee flan and the pink mekong. I loved the presentation of the pink Mekong, and the various fruits were yummy. As for the atmosphere, it was very cozy and I took a lot of nice photos in the front of the restaurant by the pond. I was able to find metered parking on the street; not sure why but I didn't need to pay that day! Upon arriving, we were fortunate that there was no wait time and got seated right away. Their menu was quite extensive so we took some time to browse before we ordered. They had a main menu and also a special menu. We pointed out some allergies to the staff and he helped us work around it. The orders came out quickly and he checked in on us frequently to see if we were okay. Great service! Bakka Wild Salmon - This salmon had a lot of things going on for it, in a good way! The combination of flavors felt very refreshing, especially on a hot day. The lime and basil was played a big part there. Crispy Short Rib with Lime - Even initially before coming here, this was the dish that caught our attention. I will admit the portion size was a bit smaller than I expected and was even skeptical when it came out. However, without a doubt, this was the highlight of the visit. As someone that loves savory foods, this really hit the spot. The burst of flavors settles in right away. Truffle Wok Seared Noodles - We wanted to pick this noodle dish as a balance to the protein dishes. It did its job but it tasted okay. Not something that stood out. Slow-Drip Vietnam Coffee Flan - I liked the caramel that was layered on the flan, it was crunchy and added a nice texture. It was a nice presentation but tasted okay. Thai Tea - This was my personal drink. It was a standard Thai tea but came with ice cream on top. It was not too sweet but didn't stand out compared to other items. Strawberry Pandan Lemonade - This was my girlfriend's drink. I had a small sip here but found it was refreshing and not too sweet. However, I didn't really get any pandan flavor, mainly strawberry. When it all comes together, it was a good experience. The interior of the story is more dimly lit and felt like a romantic night dinner, despite being the middle of the day. The dishes had a balance of standard and hidden gems. Everything was more than sufficient for two people to share. Service was great and very attentive. Will come back for the Crispy Short Ribs! Steelhead tartar - Just ok, a tartar paste on a big thin cracker. Difficult to share. Pork Jowl - Did not like the sauce. The meat was kinda like a chasiu but just not very good. Easy to share. Chicken wings - This is the only thing that was well portioned as they give you 5 whole wings, but they are plain. The wings from Baccali are so much better. Grilled fish collar - Not bad but the mint didn't really go that well with it. Dan dan campanelle - Disappointing. Not good dandan flavor and it's a small bowl. Hainan Fish - WAY overpriced and it's just whatever. Why ruin something so simple and good? Duck drumstick on taro - WAY overpriced. One drumstick on a bed of taro mash with taro fries. It's cool the food is locally sourced and blah blah blah but it's hard to appreciate when it is not good. The price is 3x more than a real Chinese restaurant where you can get more skillfully cooked food, so value-wise it's quite poor and the reason for my low rating. Less then 10 minutes away you have access to some of the greatest Chinese food in America so why would you come here? Also the small restaurant is insanely loud and made for a poor atmosphere. Service was good.

We tried the following: Bing Bun Basket with 3 sets of spreads (ricotta, jam & chili, honey butter, citron cream cheese & sesame): The bing bread was soft and warm, kinda like an airy pancake bread. The spreads were delicious. It was so good, we'd definitely get it again. Chicken Wings with sweet & spicy and honey garlic sauce: These crunchy fried drumettes were okay but not standout or worth the price. Steak Ssäm: We enjoyed the unique combination of flavors here with steak, shiso, pickled daikon, jalapeño, lettuce and rice. Choco Pot De Creme: a nice, rich chocolate pudding with whipped cream and crunchy flakes. Yuzu Medicina and Ichigo-Rita: decently strong fruity cocktails which we both enjoyed. Parking: There was an unstaffed, paid parking lot across the street.

Food wasn't good. Nothing stood out to me except for the salad. For starters we were suppose to have two different salads but without apologies a waitress simply brought out a small bowl of cucumber slices stating they ran out of the other salad. No comp or no discussion on an alternative where I was charged full prefix price. It was disappointing since I wanted to try their salads and that was the best part of their entire prefix and only dish we actually finished. For Steak and eggs entree, they never asked how I would've like the steak cooked and they brought it medium, which we did not touch since it was too bloody for my liking. The deserts were all underwhelming also including meringue, tart and chocolate mousse. I got sliders for my kid who loves a good cheese burger but she didn't eat it either. Also having fries with burgers would've been nice and I was surprised she got two small sliders with no fries. Usually sliders and chicken tenders are always served with fries. Esp for children. Service was okay initially but towards end I had to keep looking for waiter trying to ask for things since again end of day I felt workers were busy closing out and not as much attention was paid to guests still left. Ambiance was okay. It was farther than I thought near Chinatown than my usual west LA options. To me it's about experience, taste and quality time but given price point and culinary experience I had for Mother's Day prefix, I do not want to dine again at this restaurant.

First time I got beef pad se ew and it was yummy. I went for early dinner on a Tuesday and the place was empty. The second time I went I got tofu pad Thai and it too was yummy. This time I went for lunch (they have great lunch specials) and the place was busy and buzzing. Note that here they put sautéed purple onions in their pad Thai. I'm used to onions on the dish being green onions. I happen to hate onions so it was a bummer, but I just picked them out and it was fine. Both times I got Thai iced tea, I'm lactose intolerant so can't usually have it. They have oat milk to substitute for the milk. There's a small parking lot with a couple of designated spots and you can enter through the back. There is also street parking nearby.

Shame on me for missing out on their delicious food for sixteen years. I seem to recall back then it was more Thai fusion than it is now. But I have consumed a lot of beer, wine, cocktails in the interim so my brain could be foggy on that account. Nevertheless the food we ate was fantastic. I would love to get bottles of their sauces to cook with at home. The summer wraps are largely lettuce and Thai mint - I prefer having a bit more carrot and cuke in them, but I'm not the boss. The spinach peanut with tofu had epic spinach and tasty tofu. The Chinese broccoli in the Pad See Ew was nice and crisp. I guess there is parking in the lot in the back of the store. Seems to be marked for specific stores. I wonder, does the Spa really get that busy they need that many spots? I didn't see anything reserved for Daisy patrons. But I figured most of the other businesses were not open in the evening. Anyway we didn't get a ticket or towed off the lot.

5 Stars - A Hidden Culinary Gem in Alhambra! I brought some…read moreold friends to Sage Bistro in Alhambra once again, and we were treated to another incredibly satisfying feast. I am genuinely thrilled to have such an upscale, quiet, and relaxing restaurant right here in my neighborhood. You can truly taste the chef's passion and dedication in every dish. Every time I bring friends here, they are absolutely amazed and delighted by the flavors. We ordered quite a few dishes today. The highlight was the Chilean Sea Bass. The chef served a massive, beautifully thick cut--which is actually the hardest to execute. If overcooked even slightly, Chilean Sea Bass becomes dry and tough. But the timing here was absolutely perfect. It had a gorgeous, golden-brown exterior, while the inside remained incredibly moist, tender, and delightfully springy. The seasoning was spot-on and never overpowering; it wasn't too salty, perfectly preserving the natural, fresh flavors of the sea. We also had the Chicken Bowtie Pasta. I typically avoid chicken dishes at restaurants because they often turn out dry and lack the rich aroma you get from beef or lamb. However, Sage's chef elevates chicken to another level. Rather than using the traditional Cantonese technique of quickly flash-frying in oil (which yields a smooth texture but sacrifices the natural meat aroma), the chef here expertly pan-sears the chicken over extremely high heat for a short time. This creates a deliciously crisp exterior that locks in all the juices and rich flavor. Tossed with perfectly cooked bowtie pasta and cheese, the result is so flavorful and well-balanced that we simply couldn't stop eating! Another great thing about Sage is their incredibly generous portion sizes--we left completely satisfied! We finished our meal with a great cup of coffee and the chef's handmade Tiramisu, drawing a perfect, sweet close to our evening. Highly recommend!
