My wife and I came here for lunch. We love French bistro food and decided to give it a try. My wife ordered the Angel Hair pasta (fire-roasted tomato, garlic confit, basil, extra virgin olive oil), and I ordered the French Dip (roast beef on a baguette, au jus, spicy aioli, onions, house greens with a side of horseradish). Both dishes were very good and the ingredients were fresh and well prepared. The roast beef on my French Dip was very tender and flavorful. The portion sizes were adequate. Definitely not large. The ambiance was cozy with comfortable tables and chairs, with an abundance of natural light. I would describe our waiter as efficient but a little brusque and not all that friendly. I would definitely return to try other dishes and experience the pleasant atmosphere.

What a cute new restaurant where the former Maison Restaurant was. Atmosphere is very French Cafe very chic, light open and carefree. Our food was simple and delicious. The homemade Yogurt was excellent I can't believe how creamy and delicious it is! The honey added is so flavorful. I recommend this dish! I recommend highly!

My friends brought me to Bon Appetit on Sunday to celebrate my birthday and it was such a wonderful day. The staff were so friendly and made sure everything was perfect for us - including a check in from the owner! I love the new paint job - the blue is so elegant and the gold chandeliers are classy. Has a French cafe vibe for sure! And the food, as pictured, was amazing!! We'll definitely be back!

Delicious solid French food at this chic restaurant. Having lunch here feels like being in Paris, I guess! It's bright and airy on a sunny day. The French Dip with salad was hearty. The roast beef was tender as well as the baguette was soft enough that wasn't tough to bite. The Angel Hair Pasta was very good too! Simple and yet very satisfying with tomatoes, basil, in olive oil. It's definitely a nice restaurant to hang around all afternoon!

Bon Appetit Cafe is a nice addition to the Dana Point restaurant scene. The cafe took over the previous Maison location, retaining much of its charming decor, while brightening up the space and opening up the seating. It too has a French inspired menu, along with Mediterranean inspired dishes, including the Poulet Roulette, which appears to be an homage to the new owner Stephanos' Greek Heritage, with its spinach, feta and dill filling, along with a French beurre blanc sauce, is delicious. The Penne in Marsala wine sauce is also very tasty.

Loved the ambiance and decor, friendly service, and good food. Food came out quickly and they also have outdoor seating. Great place for breakfast/brunch.

Centrally located on a corner in Dana Point. Friendly staff and we seated right away despite a busy brunch service. Nice decor, very relaxing shade of blue gives the place a very chill vibe. The breakfast was very good, soft scrambled egg in a croissant with bacon. The pancake souffle and avocado toast also delicious, everything was well made and tasted fresh. Nice place for brunch, will return when we are down in this area again.

Great french inspired place for breakfast, lunch, or brunch located in the heart of Dana Point on Del Prado. Benedict is perfectly prepared with a hollandaise sauce that tastes so fresh. Pancake Soufflé is absolutely amazing and not overly sweet. Coffee drinks are a win as well. A must try if you're looking for something more than the usual breakfast.

We heard about this super cute new brunch spot and drove all the way from Irvine. Def worth the drive. We had coffee, mushroom tartine, egg croissant, pancake soufflé , French toast, horchata drink, and an almond croissant. Everything was great. The ambiance was very Parisian. The staff were friendly. When we finished we turned the corner and went into their coffee shop which has a seperate entrance and because it was so cute, we ordered more coffee and pastries to go and sat outside on their sidewalk French style tables and chairs . Adorable, and we can't wait to go back!

My date and I walked in and quickly noticed that it was very busy, we anticipated this since it was a Friday evening, however, what we didn't expect was the restaurant seemed crowded due to its relatively small size. However, the staff here were hustling and working hard, they even managed to sit us down within 5 minutes of walking in. We were seated in their small patio area which was cute and nicely decorated, keeping us away from the loud indoors. Our server was prompt and attentive, despite the chaos going inside the main restaurant. With that said, we ordered water, their elevated margarita, beer, humus, steak and salmon. The water was nothing fancy, nor cold, kind of tasted like faucet water. The elevated margarita was very strong and delicious, the beer was light and crisp, the humus was delicious which came with pita bread and what seemed to be chickpeas on top of the humus, the steak was a bit underwhelming, however, the salmon was rich and plentiful. Overall, we had a nice and enjoyable dinner despite it being so busy and crowded. A nice gesture was when the chef came out to greet us and thank us for dining in at their restaurant. 5 stars for their service.

I was so excited to hear that Steve and Agatha were opening a restaurant in downtown Dana Point, and Bon Appétit is clearly something special. My food was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the angel hair pasta paired with a glass of white wine, a perfect combination. It was wonderful to visit and experience their new place firsthand. I wish Steve and Agatha success as they welcome the Dana Point community. Bon appétit!

I visited with a large group of friends and was quite pleased with this new restaurant. I ordered the Beef Bourbignon and found it to be quite delicious. It was cooked to perfection, my only beef with it was the lack of pearl onions. I ordered a Grand Marnier Souflet also, waited the requisite 30 minutes for it, and was quite pleased with it. It was cooked the right way too. Our waiter was very pleasant too. He was a tall Frenchman with a beard, but later we found out that he was a local.

It made things feel easy and thoughtful without us having to figure it out ourselves. The sirloin was definitely a standout--really well seasoned, flavorful, and served with pesto and potatoes. We also got fries for the table and those disappeared quickly. The bread options (olive bread and sourdough with either olive butter or regular) were a great start too. I tried the French onion burger and while the meat was super tender and clearly good quality, I wasn't a fan of how sweet the onions were--they were very caramelized and kind of took over the flavor for me. The Greek salad we shared was good, just a bit more tomato-heavy than I expected. Drinks were great and everything came out smoothly. Overall, a really pleasant experience with some standout dishes. The birthday dessert at the end was a thoughtful touch!

I've had two separate experiences at Raya this year, and both were unacceptable -- which is…read moredisappointing because the rest of the property has consistently been excellent. Kahani, the club lounge, and the Marketplace all delivered exactly what you expect from a hotel at this level: attentive, well-trained staff, seamless service, and a clear understanding of hospitality standards. That's why I've never focused on smaller issues before -- they didn't outweigh the overall quality of the stay. Unfortunately, Raya has now been the exception twice. The first time, back in January, the food quality wasn't on point-I ordered the blackened tuna tacos and they were completely inedible. I didn't complain or send them back -- I simply left it at that. Today was service from one particular server Taylor. I had just come down from the club lounge and remembered that I had a complimentary voucher given at check-in, which didn't specify what it covered on it. I first asked at the lobby bar and no one was able to provide a clear answer, so I went next door to Raya and asked again before ordering. The hostess told me I could choose anything and even recommended the skirt steak. She was kind and friendly. Taylor took my order, and I reasonably assumed there had been communication between staff. So I spent some time ordering and waiting and when my food arrived since I asked for a to go order, I grabbed the bag, tipped, and left. Then Taylor ran after me at the hotel entrance asking how I planned to pay -- in front of other guests. It was an extremely uncomfortable and bizarre situation. I didn't realize what has happened I was just handed the bill and I put my room number and name down. I was then told the voucher only covered guacamole, which directly contradicted what I had been told prior to ordering. As a result, I wasted approximately 40 minutes of my time, I was simply trying to head to the beach before departing, and instead found myself dealing with a situation that should have been handled internally and discreetly. When I handed the food back and said I did not want it, the response was "ok, I'll toss it," followed by no acknowledgment, no apology, and no effort to resolve the situation. At this point, this is no longer an isolated incident. For a restaurant positioned as fine dining, the lack of internal communication, consistency, and basic guest handling is surprising -- especially when every other outlet on the property demonstrates a significantly higher standard. Raya was the only part of the experience that felt misaligned with the rest of the hotel -- and unfortunately, it's the last impression I'm leaving with.
