I've compared their selection from big box stores to dollar stores. However, the price points and quality at this store are great! I'm not certain where they obtain their supplies, but they tend to have high quality products at unbelievable prices time and time again. This store sells a variety of things like a Tuesday Morning store but not as many household items, but they do carry a decent selection (ie: plates, food processors, buffet warmers, etc.). In addition they have baking and cooking accessories. The store is divided into easy to navigate sections. Up the ramp to the right are household/ entertainment items. Down the ramp to the left are toys and crafting items. Going into this store is almost like going into Michael's, I can get lost in it as you never know what you might unearth.

It's located right behind their Synagogue and a few blocks off Mamaroneck Ave. I'll be straight up, heading down the few steps leading to Back Door seemed sketchy- but I moved past that because I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel. Back Door isn't huge- but to their defense, they have a good handle gathering items by sections. Upscale and lower-end items are all mixed in together, so you're going to have to do a little digging. I've been doing Thrift shopping for ages- but my thing is...there ain't nothing a good dry cleaners won't do. I'm usually on the hunt for something weird and sorting through the aisles to see if I find a treasure or two. Majority of times, I've doctored up my pieces, gotten rid of buttons to replace with funkier ones, replaced lamp shades, bought large wooden pieces of whatever, etc. Then again...there's always Pinterest. Right? This is the place to haggle- and by the way- it's only CA$H. I scored a Rainbow Cuff Bracelet for $3, a few other Bracelets. Plus a bright Red and Fuschia Clutch going for $10- and in the end, got it for $6. Nice experience, wouldn't hurt me to try it again.

It clearly says it's $2.49 per balloon and the owner charged me 18 bucks. The cashier that I had was a really nice man and I think he felt bad that was too afraid to ask the owner for a change in price. Normally, this place is my go to thing for everything. But prices have gone up. It's literally not a dollar store anymore. They actually change the prices when they get to the cashier. Just a note to the dollar zone. I don't mind paying more for something, but I just wanted to let you know the stickers that you put on your items do not come off so it's hard to give them as a gift.

They are ridiculous....they accept NO exchanges,, even with a receipt. Everything is now $1.19…read more (wouldnt $1.20 be easier) The biggest problem is the staff...they are a large Indian family who yell across the store all the time...any time you ask where something is (since they move items constantly), they act as if you are asking for their first born child! They treat customers like cattle....they know me...i have told them i have had bowel surgery and have urgency which does not allow me to leave to go to the nearest store without a major accident...They responded that they would have me arrested. i told them to please call the cops and they could find me in the staff toilet. Since that time, they have accused me of "breaking things", leaving the BR a mess (trust me...the homeless would be offended by the filth). Oh, BTW, they never called the cops when i used their bathroom nor did they complain when i pulled deodorize, hand soap and paper towels from their shelves to stock their bathroom!! We still shop there for bargains...esp holiday items...but i am as nasty to them as they are to me and others...getting yelled at is normal for them...I remind them we are not in the streets of Calcutta and deoderant and manners are routine in our neck of the woods!! Why still shop there, you ask? Well, my shopping has decreased by at least 50% and i am very clear what i am there for and take NONE of their crap...btw, i can honestly say at least 5 of my friends feel exactly the same way...basically, we use them when it is convenient for us and we dont feel like paying $5.95 for a BD card.....but they manageed to alienate most of the neighborhood! Hope they read this and spend a. minute or two examining their behavior, Oh ...you should note that when they first opened, they were 'normal' and didnt look like they were running a Nazi camp...they really keep getting worse and worse! It's always fun to visit here as you'll find all kinds of things for around your home. Prices can be fantastic or average so keep your eyes out. They have a rewards/membership program though I don't know if I've ever gotten any sort of discount. I'm particularly pleased that they've expanded their hours a bit more. During the pandemic, they started closing every day at PM. That didn't leave much time for shopping after dinner. They finally extended hours back to closing at 8PM. That's a little better. You'll find clothing very cheap and it is what it is. The quality isn't always bad. Thermals and flannels are hardy and last a while. T-shirts, maybe not so much. But for the prices, I think you'll be pleased. Seasonal items for the garden, the pool, around the yard, holiday decorations, you'll find all of that in here. Pure maple syrup is another hot item here. Watch for the sales when it's really cheap. They also have pet supplies and plenty of other home goods. It's overall a fun store!
