We ordered a dining table on Feb. 8 from the showroom store. We were told it would arrive in mid-April. As that date approached, we stopped by the store to check on the order, as we got no information from the store. We were treated quite rudely by the saleswoman who sold us the table, saying after giving us a scornful look, "Have you not been aware of all the delays everywhere because of supply chain issues?". Then, being overtly annoyed by our inquiry, she tracked the order on her computer and informed us the table would arrive on May 3. Again as the date approached, and we heard absolutely nothing from the store, we went back to the store, and the saleswoman informed us that the order couldn't be filled, and was very evasive as to why. After waiting 3 months for the table, she then said condescendingly, "Yes, it does people time to get over their disappointment. You'll be back to place another order." Well, you can bet we will never return to that overpriced store with horrendous customer service! Design Within Reach - Home Decor Near Me - Stamford, Connecticut

My wife and I ordered Tuck Sleeper Sofa - Crepe Linen, Saffron and we were really looking forward to it's arrival. We also ordered a chair, rug and a coffee table to compliment it. We were told it would arrive in 14 to 22 business days. We followed up right before the 22 business days because we never heard about a scheduled drop off time. The customer service got back to us three days later and said that they apologized and they found out it was now on backorder and that we wouldnt get it for another approx 4 MONTHS. We asked if there was any way this could be expedited or some kind of discount but they said nothing could be done but they offered a $199 credit off the white glove service. We told them that we appreciated the offer for the $199 credit but that was definitely not enough incentive for us to wait until the end of the year to get our couch. That would mean we would have waited a total of 4.5 to 5 months for a couch. Super frustrating because there was no mention of an approximate 5 month wait when ordered it and when we initially reached out they even told us it would be 3-4 weeks. Then we wait a whole month, follow up and then find out it's another approx 4 months and nothing can be done. We've bought furniture that would match this couch already, have a baby due any day and dont have anywhere to sit. Also we have family coming into town to stay with us and wanted to use the sofa part of the sleeper. Additionally we have holiday plans at our place... now we're being forced to either cancel this couch and find a new couch that matches our place and the stuff we already bought or suck it up and deal with no couch for 4 more months. At this price point you would expect better service and communication. If we had known it would take approx 5 months to get this couch we would've looked elsewhere. Also we're now in a bad situation because we already bought things to match this couch. read more

A "Lauren" whom works for DWR send me a message where she lied to me stating that I wouldn't be receiving any more of their catalogs. That was six months ago. I have since received THREE MORE. These people are OFFENSIVE. read more

Excellent customer service. I recently had neck surgery. My old home office chair had to go. I needed the Herman Miller chair that day. They sent me home with the floor model and when the new one came in, Narell Perry personally brought the new one to my home and picked up the "loaner" . Excellent store, fantastic service. We recently visited Design Within Reach and were warmly greeted by a very professional and helpful sales associate. She made the entire experience pleasant and easy;helping us with design and style options,choosing colors and materials and guiding us through the entire process. It was not stressful, and in fact, we had fun! Usually my husband can not get out of a store fast enough but Jacqueline Olsen made it so easy. We made great choices and bought iconic products that will out last trends. We highly recommend this sales person for being knowledgable about product materials and the history of each design. She answered all questions, gave us fabric swatches and cut sheets and we placed the order with great confidence. DWR is a pretty expensive store but their furniture is timeless and Jacqueline made everything a pleasure. read more

First of all, the showroom is huge and ever changing, but that's not why I'm in love... The staff at this location are amazing! In particular, my working relationship with Stephen developed into a wonderful friendship. He always listens to my design ideas and makes suggestions that are so creative! He was tremendously helpful with the furnishing of my new home and spent so much time with me making sure I achieved the right look for each space. Perfect shopping atmosphere for timeless classics. I'll never go anywhere else for high design!! read more

Not only is DWR a great store with outstanding products, the customer service is superb. Several years ago I purchased some metal dining chairs. They were so versatile and so comfortable that I ordered four more last year. After a year of use the newer ones developed some discoloration. When I called DWR last week and asked how to remove the stain on the metal, the customer service rep offered to replace them at no cost. I was amazed. Talk about standing behind your product! I'd like to broadcast far and wide what a great company DWR is. read more

All DWR locations carry great quality midcentury products but ultimately it is the level of customer service that sets certain stores apart from the rest. I have bought quite a few high end pieces from DWR over the past few years and I cannot say enough good things about Tess OBrien who is now at the Stamford DWR location. A furniture showroom with very little furniture. None of the sofas I was interested in and a very long list of excuses for why and then she listed several optional furniture stores in the area. How many of them carry the LC3 I wonder. If this was my employee she would be fired immediately. Never send a customer to a competitor and consider not offending customers with lame excuses. It angers me when one of the excuses is that they have corporate offices in the same building. That square footage would make more sense to be used as a showroom. Not smart business people, will not be purchasing here. read more
