Are we able to make negative star reviews? Beyond disappointed and angry with this Target. 6pm with 2 human registers and only 4 of the 10 self check outs operating. Looks like a failed store. CRAZY. Target use to be the crowned jewel of retail stores, however this target makes Walmart and dollar general look bougie. I live right downtown so i shop at target often. maybe tmi but i've gotten bigger and dont know what size i am. so sometimes, i need to return clothes n get the right ones. i am constantly spending money there. well, last time we went i was returning something for my baby that she didn't need. This Target store itself was okay (large selection and seemed relatively well-maintained), but probably not a quick stop on the weekends unless you're doing a pickup order. Like a lot of other Target stores these days, self-checkout was fairly limited when we went, with many stations just off despite the very long lines. This location uses a parking garage where it looks like it's free to drive in and park, but you actually need to scan a code to pay for parking. I'm not sure how they check (license plates?), but there was an option to select 30 minutes free, which we appreciated. read more

I've been going to this Target since I moved to Stamford in 2008 and while I still stop in weekly I thought it was time for a quick review. The great thing about Target is the amount of things you can buy. From food to household items to cards to televisions to luggage to a pharmacy to a Starbucks, there is something for everyone. If you use your Target card or app you get 5% off every purchase with some great weekly sales items based on past purchases. The location is also a win. Right in the heart of downtown Stamford it's easy to walk to. We usually drive and a major recent win is the elimination of the parking tickets and subsequent payment of them in the store which was never setup properly. Now, you simply scan and go setting up a specific amount of time to use the parking. And, under 30 minutes is free. This has eliminated the traffic backups on the ramps on the way out. Now for the gripes. For at least a year, the 10 self checkout stations only have 3-4 working. It's a huge problem. Why aren't they just fixed? It's beyond frustrating especially since I prefer not to go to a human cashier. The few times I have, the cashiers are either non communicative or unclear how to scan my target application, use a gift card, or any number of issues. To be blunt, every time I use a check out lane with a person something goes wrong. There seems to be a level of incompetence or poor training. The elevators are just weird. Sometimes, the doors open on both sides and sometimes one side or not the other. There's just no consistency. Finally, I refuse to buy anything locked up anymore. It's unclear why certain products like deodorant or laundry detergent are kept locked and other products aren't. And sometimes they are locked up and other times they aren't. Half the time when I pressed the help button for assistance nobody ever came over. So, the locked up products I buy at Shop Rite where nothing is locked up. I hate to say it but I don't think the management is very good at all. I never see an identifiable manager around and I don't count the 'supervisors' who scream out which lane to go to next as 'management'. There also seems to be an incredibly high turnover rate. This Target at one time would have been a solid 5 stars, now it's a 3 star. read more

Great to have a Target close by, however this one isn't all that great. It seems dirty and a bit unfriendly. A lot of stuff is locked up, but then half of the cabinets are open, making it hard to navigate your cart through the isles. Maybe the place has a high turnover in product resulting in poorly stocked sections. This is probably one of my least favorite Targets of all time. Also the wait for the slow elevators to make it into the store can be a bit annoying. In a pinch I'm happy I can walk here. read more

This is the worst target I've even been to. I hate to leave a bad review but driving 20 minutes to the next nearest target is worth it. The store is never organized, poor selection of products, you need to pay to park, drive up is horrible and the employees keep asking for your code before getting your items (I've had several broken or wrong items given after this). I hope whoever manages this store starts to treat their employees better so the employees treat the customers. I know these employees are working hard and it's not their fault they're operating in a bad system. read more

Easily THE WORST Target I've ever been too! I was with my toddler on a busy Sunday and upon approaching the self-checkout register (there were ZERO regular registers open) employee manning the line asks me "Are you using WIC? Self-checkout doesn't accept WIC". I looked at him and stated "No, we are not", he replies with "Oh, because you have food in your cart". There are several threads to unpack here, but I'll go with the obvious. 1) A woman with a toddler on a Sunday should not trigger a WIC concern. 2) If I did use WIC and needed a regular register, there weren't any open, so what then? 3) This entire scenario screams, in the least, a stereotypical bias. This is not my favorite location. It's located in downtown Stamford, right across the street from UCONN and around the corner from the Trump Parc Stamford on west broad st. Lines can be long and slow moving at this location too often. Some of the staff is friendly, but it's not that common in my opinion. It's hard to get an associate to help when you're looking for things too. I feel they were slightly better before the renovations they did a few years ago I believe. Stocking at this location can also be a pain. Often times I've come here and I can't get what I want even though they carry it and I check on the website it says they have it at this location. Then I come in and they can't find it or they tell me I show two in stock. So we probably don't have it. A couple of things I purchased from here were just DOA. A vacuum, printer, kitchen devices, electric razor, etc. Which really sucks, because I had to exchange them right after I purchased them. A few things to note; there is a cost to park, it's not super expensive but there is a cost so be aware and there is a full Starbucks that does take your Starbucks phone app. I can't really recommend this location unfortunately, but I do generally like Target stores. read more

Me love Target. I love it so much that my exciting Friday nights are spent wandering the store for hours. Also no alcoholic beverage sold here. Apparently Target in CT don't do liquor license?! Wow. I was here on a late evening on Friday, and there wasn't too many clerks available around the store. I really wanted to ask someone about the adult beverage selection, but had to circle all the way back to the cashier line to get a response from the store employee. The location has two levels! Lovely! However, my first time here, and I was really confused by the parking lot setup. It took me a few minutes to get oriented and actually exit the store. What a trap! They really want me to go back inside, since they know I love Target! But in all seriousness, the floor plan signage could use some work. read more

Legos. Collectibles, figures and Pokémon cards always ripped open and stolen. Sucks because I would love to get new figures and legos on release day but everytime I come here there's always tons of sets ripped open and loose Pokémon energy cards on the floor. Even found a Spider-Man figure that had an undertaker head on it. I understand Stamford is the wwe headquarters but customer service needs to wake up and give a crap and not let people return this stuff. On top of that, the Lego isle looks like absolute disaster for days on end. Every single Lego set should have the security wires at this location. I've gotten shirts and groceries here but it's worth noting that the toys collectibles and figures here are often ransacked and left on the shelf for people to pay full price. read more

This location of target has totally changed. Haven't been here in probably a year period not only is the parking even more annoying that it used to be with having to pay . Wake me up, you have to do it with your app. Which takes you another five minutes to get that in. Let's talk about shopping in the store. It feels very unsafe when you're in there. Omg. Never going back to this particular Target. Ever. Just a horrible experience all-in-all. Parking is crowded, no one wearing masks (especially in the elevator), the place is a mess (!!!!), shelves empty, and the associates have a bad attitude. One of them was leaning across a counter, like she was at home or something. I asked her a question. She didn't even look up to acknowledge me. She stayed in the same position, biting a pen, and just pointed towards a direction. I was is disbelief. I really like Target. Stamford has a pretty nice Target, with two floors. It's relatively well-stocked without being messy and cluttered. At 9:30am on a Saturday, ONLY the Self-Checkout lanes were available, which was a bit maddening. I did need assistance, but the employee was pretty speedy. FYI: not all elevators go to the ground floor (whoops): the one after the registers goes to the 2nd (parking garage) floor. If you want the ground floor, enter near Customer Service. read more

The two ladies sitting at the desk on Sunday, 1/7 at 4:30 pm are the absolute representation of Target which usually demonstrates great customer service. The two ladies were very dismissive, would have rather chatted amongst each other and gossip rather than help customers. They had one job to do and they failed. In addition, the person who packed the online orders was just has terrible. They tossed spoiled fruit in the bags and did not make any suggestions for items that was out of stock. I came here today 12/6/23 to CVS pharmacy in target. After that I went to Starbucks to get a cup of water and the barista already seemed like she had an attitude. I'm diabetic and I began to feel lightheaded, so I asked the barista if she could get a manager for me. I explained to her that I was not complaining about her, I wanted someone to walk me to my car which wasn't parked very far, but due to the way I was feeling, I just wanted someone to walk with me. If you know anything about diabetes, your sugar can go low or high in a matter of minutes. Then she went and got a target associate and began to speak amongst themselves within earshot of me, complaining about me asking for someone to walk to my car. The target associate whose name I couldn't get, said I'm not taking her nowhere, she can walk her damn self and the Starbucks barista said the same thing. A manager did show up eventually, I explained to him, and he stated that they were extremely busy and short staffed. I said is there anyway that you can walk me and h said we're short staffed. I asked for the name of the previous employee and he refused to give me her name, stated that he would speak to her. He ended up giving me a cart to lean on to walk to my car. Target and Starbucks, your attitudes were beyond horrible. The Starbucks employee was beyond rude and I did explain to her I'm complaining about you, I just don't feel good All of a sudden. She was upset and so was the target employee. I know the manager won't say a thing to her because he refused to give me her name. Absolutely horrible service. Please target and Starbucks, train your employees how to deal with people. This target is terrible. I walked in with a bookbag and a security guard followed me around the store the entire time. I made a complaint and one of the managers just said "we'll let security know, they're normally stealthier." Are you kidding me? And all I was holding in my hand were 2 Christmas ornaments worth $3 ea. So you will be racially profiled and followed with no motive. Also on multiple occasions they have issues accepting card and I haven't had cash so I've wasted my time shopping just for them to tell me their POS doesn't work. Don't waste your time here. This place is always understaffed and the registers are a nightmare. Recently, the 2nd floor registers have been closed all together. My husband needed a wheelchair since he had a knee surgery and I saw another man in one. I went to get one and it was compeletely dead. I plugged it in for 20 minutes and still dead. Another person on crutches walked out of the elevator at this point. I asked customer service if there was a manual wheel chair, and nope there's not. They literally will go out of their way to make things difficult to get things done. There are some individuals who are great but the morning staff is awful. My first time at this location and it's not bad. It's in an urban part of Stamford so it's actually in a tall building. There are a few parking levels and I was able to find a spot right on the first level in the afternoon. There is a parking fee though by the hour which I understand but I still don't like it. There are two levels as far as the store. I was only there to grab a few things quickly so I was only in the grocery section. The store was nice and spread out and it wasn't too crowded. There were plenty of checkout lanes that were open and the lines moved quickly. The staff were very polite. read more

If you're going to this Target on foot, after entering the front entrance on Broad st, just ignore the stairs and go straight for the elevator, unless you really want to climb 5 or 6 stories. If you're going to take the elevators back down, make sure you check the sign about the elevator for the ones that have street access and have no street access, there are two of each. The pair closer to the wall have street access while the pair closer to the actual goods in target do not offer street access. This is probably one of the cleaner Targets that I have been to since it does not have much foot traffic. Lines move quickly cause there usually aren't many people checking out, but then again there are usually only 2 lanes open. The staff is actually pretty limited and it's quite difficult to find an associate on the floor if you are looking for one to assist you. read more

This target has pretty much everything all under one roof. It is so hard not to come here so often when I literally live down the street. There is a 4 floor parking garage, but I don't use it. I think you pay $1 or 2 for parking. This target appears like some of the newer 2 floor targets with women's clothing, grocery and household stuff on the first floor, with home appliances and electronics on the 2nd floor. There is a Starbucks and target cafe on the first floor of the target as soon as you enter on the right. The customer service department on the left is very helpful and I have gone there to pick up items for pick up. There are self checkout ones but if you have clearance items, they might have to manually authorized by a target employee. This place is pretty empty during the week and crazy packed during the weekend, so plan accordingly. And we all know that when you come to target for one item, you leave with 5 more so beware! read more

This is for the manager of the electronics department. I saw online that the Ring Fit was in stock at your location but just wanted to call in and make sure it was still in stock. The guy I spoke to on the phone said there were none available. My boyfriend called to make sure and someone picked up the phone and hung up immediately. Given this unprofessionalism, we decided to head over to the store (10min walk). It wasn't busy and if you walked 15 steps to where the product was you could clearly see it was in stock. The guy who retrieved the product for us didn't say one word to us and looked miserable.
