a half eaten hot dog in a wrapper
    Jennifer W.

Visited this location after coming home from Louisiana and I was craving a country ham biscuit and mashed potatoes. Pulled up to the window and ordered two ham biscuits. Before I could add that I wanted mashed potatoes the guy told me my total... I wasn't done, Andrew. I said "and" after, then added the mashed potatoes and a sweet tea to my order. Pulled up to the window and it took FOREVER for him to take my card. When he opened the window he at least asked how I was, only good thing out of this visit. He gave me my sweet tea.. it tasted old. Very old. He gave me the rest of my food and my card back with no receipt. To add on some more: no fork or spoon or "spork" was given to me, the guys shirt was soaked (don't know if it was sweat or what) and the picture below is what my biscuit looked like... I couldn't even eat it as a biscuit.

The food was ok, they did mess up the order a bit with a picky type of kids meal but the overall service was great.

Wimpy wimpy wimpy. Never seen 2-3" tenders served at a Bojangles. Thank goodness they have good biscuits.

I've given this bojangles multiple chances but the service and food is the worst of any bojangles I've been to.

This shop is near our hotel and we wanted to give it a try based on the positive reviews. We used their online ordering system. It's pretty detailed including how you want your bagel toasted. Once we arrived our order was ready and we walked past the huge crowd. My onion bagel with veggie cream cheese was so delicious. It was packed with fresh veggies and enough cream cheese for me to enjoy. The onions flavored the bagel so well that I had a burst of onions and vegetables for breakfast. It was a little over ten dollars, which is a little pricey for me personally, but I hoped it would be worth it. It was not. My bagel came out quickly, but as soon as I opened it, I was a little sad. I was disappointed to see that there was basically no cream cheese on the bagel or lox, and most of the space was taken up by the toppings. It tasted okay, but it was nothing impressive. There is seating inside and outside too, and the inside was very clean and the line was quick. If you don't like a lot of cream cheese on your bagel, this place is for you.

Everything is made there, with sandwiches made to order. Try the Firecracker! The soups are also fantastic. The only downsides are the size of the place (small) and the wait time because the place is so popular. Inside and outside dining. They have indoor and outdoor seating, both of which was full. Often times I walk into restaurants where I'm the only person who doesn't speak the language; here I was clearly the only non-Appalachian person in sight. They offered a veggie burger based on black beans, for which I got more beans as a side. The burger didn't hold together well and made a bit of a mess, but this was ultimately solvable. The accoutrements added to make a dynamic flavor, so I wasn't too disappointed. Their pinto beans came with onions and chow chow, which again elevated the flavor. I appreciated the opportunity to order an apple cider in season. The ability to get fresh and vegetarian-friendly food in this area is valuable. It's not fancy, but it is fresh.

I also got The Yardbird sandwich after the server recommended it. It's basically just chicken salad and lettuce between a ciabatta roll, but it was simple and great. And what the heck: I can't visit a bakery that has multiple sweets without getting one. I also listened to the advice of the server when she recommended the orange scone. She was right again! It was tender and tasted like a Froot Loop. Blue Sky is located on the corner of a busy street. There are lots of tables, but if you can, sit at the bar that looks out onto the street to see the hustling and bustling college town.

It's in Lexington, home of VMI, and the shop itself is diagonal from a post office built in 1911 with large columns lining its edifice. Sometimes, when college students leave great reviews, that means good food that isn't too expensive. True here, especially for what you get: generous servings on amazing bakery breads. I had the "Sorry Charlie" on a slice of focaccia -- topped with tomato slices and melted cheese and a satisfyingly crunchy, warm crust, with a simple but nicely refreshing black bean and corn salad. Dessert treats are also worth a splurge. The people couldn't be friendlier with customers of all ages enjoying themselves. (And they have a coffee bar. And a "speakeasy"!)
