This place is definitely a blessing to have in St Cloud. I've been here with my Fiance twice now and we absolutely love it. The staff is polite, the food is great, and the restaurant is always clean, especially the bathroom. We come all the way from Woodbury to enjoy this hidden gem. Su gives us great service everytime we visit, and the food is always worth the travel.

Happened to be in St. Cloud and found this on google. Got the soft shell crab po boy and it was amazing. The crab and that special mayo was really good!

Just had dinner with my parents and son and everything was FANTASTIC. My son and I live in western Oregon and we're thrilled to find good seafood when we visit the fam in St Cloud. Service was attentive and kind. My parents were on the fence about whether to get Mild or Medium spice, so our server brought out a sample of Medium. They settled on Mild, and I went for Medium, which was just right for the hot but not light-your-world-on-fire. We shared an order of crab cakes to start. Really well-done. Crisp, but not too thick, crust and definitely fall into the all-killer-no-filler category of crab cake. Just lots and lots of tender crab meat and delicious seasoning. My parents split the peeled shrimp with garlic butter (mild). They were thrilled with it. The garlic butter is ridiculously good. We were wiping it off the plate to get every last bit. I had the Jonah crab claws. Cooked perfectly with the Louisiana (Old Bay-style) seasoning. The corn and potatoes were delicious soaked in both sauces. My little guy (4 years old) had an order of French fries and he at almost the whole order himself. The space is really fun. Beautiful old exposed brick walls, nice clean modern look for the bar, and shiny stainless for the kitchen. They definitely have a great system worked out for getting a lot of food pushed out quickly and efficiently. My parents are going to become regulars (they saw a shrimp po'boy walk by and REALLY want to try one), and we'll be back every time we visit Minnesota. Fast, accommodating, attentive, and friendly! Nice job, the Boil team!

Excellent service and great food. Everything was well seasoned, the shrimp were outstanding. The place had a friendly, casual vibe.

Amazing food! Prices are a bit high but you get what you pay for. Spices are done, right! And the quality of the seafood is great!

On of those places where you eat and it's so good you don't care about the bill. Service is great and boil sauce is addicting.

No problem, we ended up waiting, maybe 15 minutes to get a table. There were 4 of us. That wasn't an issue and the staff was great. We got seated at our table and our waiter, I believe his name was Benjamin, was awesome. Great guy, didn't pressure us to order right away. Gave us time to look and would check in on us. All around great service. He was a 5 star! Even the atmosphere, with it being busy, was what you would expect. A lot of people talking and having a good time, no problems, no issues. We were kind of set back in the corner, which I'm thankful for, because we didn't have the noise from the Brunch area. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the food. With 4 people being served, you would think they would get the fries right? They were over seasoned on everyone's plate, horribly over seasoned. You might as well have been dipping them straight into the container of whatever seasoning was on them. Of the 4 orders of French fries, we left 2 orders on the table. I ordered the Gastro Pub Bison Burger, medium. Benjamin even started it was going to have some pink in the middle, and I said yes. The ticket even stated it. I don't know why they even put it on the ticket if they're going to cook it done. The burger ended up being over cooked and dry. It was a Bison burger, so there's plenty of moisture in those burgers when cooked to medium. This thing comes out as a little nothing sized burger. I wasn't impressed with it at all. My wife's order, Spinach and Artichoke Chicken Sandwich, came out good and she ate it all and really enjoyed it. One daughter had ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. She's had them before at other places and was excited to try their's. Came out ok except for the, what she stated as being too spicy. And again, the fries were over seasoned. My other daughter order a Spicy Dill Flatbread, which turned out really good. She was the only one of us who did like the over seasoned fries. Now when it comes to food, I never send anything back and i don't say anything because we might not be done with ordering. I have the biggest fear about retaliation. You hear the stories from someone you know, of possibly something being a little sketchy when food is reordered or it comes back out, so I just don't do it. I have been here before and it is pretty much the same as I remember it. The staff being great, but the food just being not worth it. The funny thing is it's the Chef's name is on the door when you come in the building. If I was him, I'd be a little embarrassed that his cooking staff can't do a medium burger and do some retraining. At least watch what the cooking staff is doing while preparing food that his name is associated with. I don't need to go back there and eat.

We sat at the bar and the short blond female bartender gave us all the looks. Now I'm not sure if that's because she hasn't traveled outside of Duelm where the population is at best 1,150. But unless you look like; Emma Stone, Morgan Wallen, Tilda Swinton or Neal McDonough, don't expect that kind sort of service. Traveling internationally and being all through the states, sometimes dining at little mom and pops restaurants can be so rewarding. We love supporting local and bringing our ones to small places. Unfortunately not the case here. Things to stick out positively was the salad bar is LEGIT! Lots of sections, two barrels of hot soup and it was clean. My wife and I ordered beers. The bartender had the WORST customer service. Her attitude and unwillingness to be kind was so off putting we almost left. But we stomached her horrible service. She said our dinners were supposed to come with rolls. We saw her walk to the kitchen but came back and said, "They ran out." Really? We understood there aren't many customers with gorgeous sugar brown skin that come through these doors. So as her tip was vastly dwindling, my walleye came out. It was ok. As being In Minnesota for my first time and trying the fish for the first time it all sat wrong. Not only were the people here rude, cold and acted as if they've never seen outsiders before, it wasn't a pleasant dining experience. And trust my wife and I were dressed very nicely with great jackets! So like I said, if you prefer being stared at and receiving worst service than at your churches Sunday spaghetti dinner, take your money and go somewhere else.

Of course their salad bar is to die for there dressings must be home made, and they make fresh dinner rolls everyday. I had the super sized burger, not as delicious as last time but still great, can't put my finger on why I didn't like it as much, it was cooked a little more then I prefer. The tator tots were a treat, but was given a choice of sides and was not told there was an uncharge for tots, (hate surprises like that, as I would have been just fine with the included fries.) My fiancé had her favorite shrimp dinner but got it broiled this time and said it was like eating lobster. The soup with the salad bar was potato, best she has ever had, I tried a spoonful and must agree. If you guys weren't so far from home we would be back, maybe a special occasion, but thanks for filling our stomachs with such delicious food over the years.

It's been in decline for years, but last November and now yesterday (February 2026) have sealed the deal. I will not go back, or if I do, it would be for biscuits and maybe an app. I got the lobster boil. Comes with two lobster tails (very small), shrimp and crab legs. Everything was way overdone. The lobster had the taste and chew of the overdone shrimp. The crab legs (one cluster) was almost comically small. That was nowhere near a half lb cluster. It was "circa 2003 crab legs on a Chinese Buffett" size. The sauce lacked any depth of flavor, the potatoes and corn were adequate. My mom's lobster tail duo was super chewy and hard. I will say that the RL in St. Cloud did reimburse my mom's meal and took 20% off my meal (my son had the salmon and it was "not the best but pretty good" according to him). So, that's why I gave them another star. The biscuits were good and they gave my son an extra to go home with his leftovers. Service was good but a little slow. The place is looking pretty rundown, but I don't care as long as the food is good. Also. Sometime in the last few years, they got rid of the free salad (typical private equity move). It's just all over depressing. RL is the poster child of chain restaurant decline. Even if my meal was half the price, it would not have been enjoyable, but I would have left with a "I guess you get what you pay for." But for $50? Even in the Saint Cloud area, you can get such a better seafood meal and in most cases, for less. (I'd recommend: Krewe, Cafe Renaissance, The Boil, White Horse, Jack and Jim's for their shrimp)
