In what has become an every other year tradition, we came here on 12/26 for lunch. We were promptly seated by the bartender and our server did a great job of answering our questions and checking in. We ordered a large (18) order of buffalo wings and a medium (12) order of dill wings. The wings are of good size. The bleu cheese was fairly thick and came with celery. We also shared an order of cajun fries. They didn't have much seasoning on them. BBQ made for a good dipping sauce. An odd heads up, the bathroom sinks are powerful! We were there on a Wednesday night around 5:30. It took about 12-14 minutes to get the server to take our order. She was rarely visible in the restaurant. Refills were virtually non-existent. After about a half hour the food finally came. Oh, I should mention after 15-20 minutes the server came and said there was only enough soup left for one of the two people in our party that ordered it. The one with soup-and-salad opted to just have a salad. It was a seemingly interminable time to get the bill to pay. I noticed that she never changed the soup/salad to salad only, but after waiting some time and not seeing her around, I finally opted to just sign the credit card slip and leave, we'd been there way too long! Worst Letnes-Brother's restaurant service I've ever experienced. Considering I was just at one of their other places, Grizzly's, the day before, which always has great service, I'd suggest there's a management problem at Boulder. read more

So disappointing. Our group of eleven started out our experience with a very rude hostess who didn't want to seat us on the patio which very clearly had plenty of empty seating. Finally after we said we would take our business elsewhere she agreed to seat us on the patio in two separate locations with a strong warning not to move any furniture. We started with beverages and three appetizers. The next sign things were going south was when five out of eleven of our plates for appetizers were obviously dirty. A few with leftover sauce from the previous party. We sent the plates back to be washed. The apps themselves weren't terrible, just not very tasty. But none of us liked our entrees. Nothing was seasoned or cooked well. Our entrees ranged from burgers to bowls. So it wasn't that just one or two of us had bad food. All eleven of us had bad, tasteless food. Our ages ranged from 11 to 70. None of us are picky eaters, it's just that honestly the food was not good and definitely not worth our $300 tab. We did however have a nice server who did a great job with one of our tables. The second table not so much. We didn't complain and we still left a very generous tip. This was for a family get together for a high school graduation celebration that should have been a special memory. So it was a big deal. My advice, try another restaurant. read more

Boulder Taphouse served me one of the most unsafe meals I've ever been given at a restaurant. I ordered the Stuffed Tap House Burger, which they proudly say is always cooked medium. What showed up was RAW inside. Not "oops, a little pink." RAW. Cold, mushy, and absolutely inedible unless you're trying to speed-run food poisoning. Mission accomplished -- I spent the entire night throwing up. When I called for a refund, the manager actually argued with me, insisting the burger is always medium and claiming they are not responsible if customers get sick from undercooked meat. That is one of the most unhinged things I've ever heard from someone running a kitchen. So to be clear: * They served raw beef * I got violently ill * They denied responsibility * And acted like this was somehow normal If a restaurant's defense is "we always cook it medium, and if it makes you sick that's your problem," then you should not be eating there. Period. Do not order the burgers. Honestly, don't eat here at all unless you enjoy rolling the dice with food safety and being talked down to afterward. St. Cloud has plenty of restaurants that understand basic cooking temperatures and accountability. This place isn't one of them. Stay far away. read more

we had the worst service tonight at Boulder in St. Cloud. we went in at 6 pm and ordered cheese curds, pop, burger and boneless wings. it took almost 45 minutes to get our cheese curds at 7:15 we questioned where our food was as the people behind us and a large table next to us all came in after us and they have all gotten their food. we asked for our bill and the manager came over to tell us our food went to the wrong table as our waitress told us the order was missing placed. The manager said would you like a shake we said no we will pay for what we ate and we are leaving he then said do you want a shake when he should of said I will pick up the $17 dollar bill. Boulder Tap house is a step above your typical chain beer bar. Along side 40 some tap beers to choose from is some damn good bar food fare as well as a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The taps are constantly rotating and changing so I'm not going to get to far into detail. I will say they had a great variety or local or national craft beer, it was carbonated correctly and cold. As far as food. I ordered the "Defibrillator" and this thing was ridiculous (in a good way). Two 1/2 pound patties topped with cheese curds, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, jalapeños, banana peppers, mushrooms, onions and a special sauce. Absolute craziness! They burger was served a mile high showcasing all the wonderful toppings. I literally had to smash it down to eat it. It was good, I ate the whole freaking thing. A temperature preference was not offered and while it wasn't burnt it was well done and I would have preferred a little pink. My sister and I stopped here after throwing axes. We were 1/2 hour before late night happy hour appetizer specials. I ordered chicken ranch Cobb salad with no onions. The server even added no onions to ticket. Guess what I get, tons of chopped up red onions everywhere! I'm able to pick around because as a kid, I always did this. I ate maybe 1/4 of salad. At first I told server about it and then picked more. She came around again and my fingers reeked of onions and was offered to remake. I declined and just asked for it to be taken off my bill. What a nice place, we were greeted and seated, given menus and conversed with the server. She was great! She was very helpful and knowledgeable on the menus. We ordered drinks and hors de voures. I love the outside of this building. It gives off an up north cabin type look. Inside is nothing fancy. I just felt like it was not very inviting. They were not very busy for a Saturday night at 7. Lots of staff seemed to be hanging out. And the floor was just awful which made me feel like one of these people standing around could have certainly been tidying up the place. We each ordered a burger and honestly these were probably the tiniest burgers I have ever seen. Definitely not even a 1/4 pound. I would say smaller than a McDonald's patty. I also ordered Parmesan fries and they were not what I expected at all. They had cold shredded Parmesan sprinkled on top of them, I guess everywhere else I have had Parmesan fries they were nothing like this. They weren't even good. Our food took what seemed like a long time for how dead the place was. We ordered some Totchos as an appetizer and those came in a decent amount of time. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection! They are cooked exactly to your specifications, and you will leave more then happily full! They have a HUGE burgers and fries selections going on here, and one sounds just as amazing as the next...so give yourself a few minutes to just inhale the smell of angus heaven, and dream about what your next bite of greatness will taste like! You can't go wrong at this place, so try a new Burger each time you come! The service is just as much a five star as the food itself which was a precious gift all in itself! Boulder Tap House is one of those large chain restaurants that doesn't really feel like a large chain...and that's a good thing! We've eaten there a couple of times and have been happy with the experience both times. The menu is pretty standard when it comes to casual places like this (burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, etc.), but the quality is there. It's really good! The reason for the high marks this time around was the larger selection of gluten-free menu items. My wife and I both had sandwiches on their gluten-free buns and they were great! Tasted like the real thing . . . not gluten-free. Plus, the meats on the sandwiches were super tasty. She had a chicken sandwich and I had the cuban! Both were equally delicious. We got there for lunch. The restaurant is catering to sport fans. You can see it on the TVs hanging on the walls. I never saw so many of them ! The decor is comfortable cabin style. We got greeted friendly and asked whether we want the bar or restaurant. We where hungry and got into the dining area. On the first look at the menu list, I thought, that the prices where on the high side. IT was for the most burgers and choices for $ 8.99. But once we saw the size of those supreme burgers, we were hooked and declared ourselves a fan of it. It was worth every bite of it ! I had the "Muenster Bacon Shroom Burger". The names are very original, as well as those HUGE burgers. They are delicious ! Not for a calorie aware person, thought, as someone may guess now ! IT made up for the small amount of fries included. The refills came fast and without asking for it. It was getting slowly full and also the noise level got louder. Some had their children with them, but I wouldnt recommend to take them there. Its closed to a bar and there are not many choices for small children. There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Their signature is the tap beer. All in all. I am in love with the cheese curds here. If you ask me, they are the best cheese curds you can find anywhere. They're not what you expect because they don't even look like your typical cheese curds. They are so well prepared! Not too fatty/deep fried. They look like blocks of heavenly cheese, and come in two different kinds of cheese. I like to come here to grab a drink every once in awhile too. I'm not the biggest fan of beer, but this place is notorious for a wide selection of beers. I did try the beer sampler where you can pick 4 and try them. I did enjoy that. I'm happy to report that those desiring a bit quieter place to visit, will thoroughly enjoy the patio. It offers some nice sun, or shade, as well as the great food you've come to expect from the Tap House - delicious wings, burgers, and who can forget their cheese curds. For about $10, you can have their special - which includes a classic burger, fries, and a shake or malt. You can't go wrong. I'm always amazed at how many people are at this restaurant when I go. My brother and I and my son stopped at the Boulder tap House. I had just come from the Minneapolis VA because I had had a few heart attacks. My brother and I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl and my son ordered chicken strips with fries. We also got an order of onion rings and I got a bowl of French onion soup. Now I'm going to start this review out by saying that Mandy the manager the following day did refund some of our payment. The reason the refund was in order was the food was terrible. The teriyaki chicken bowls tasted horribly. The onion rings came out almost black. The French onion soup tasted like somebody had dumped a bottle of onion powder in it thus making it uneatable. Food wise we will never go back there again. The service was fantastic though. Our waitress tried many times to make it better and we have nothing bad at all to say about her, only compliments for her. As I said we called the next day and Mandy was a great help of refunding some of that cost of a meal since we actually didn't eat 2/3 of it. We brought it home to our dogs and they wouldn't eat it. read more
