We went here later at night so not sure what they are like during busy times, but our waitress was very attentive and our food and fresh and hot when we got it. Nice and clean, good drinks. Service has always been great! My only complaint is that their burgers sound SO amazing on the menus, and they are good but they are lacking a little bit of seasoning. Let's start with the positives: the bar is awesome and the staff is great. Now with that our of the way let's get to the real issue: THE FOOD IS TERRIBLE. Some of the worst, most overrated food I have ever experienced. The burger was bland and the only thing making the cheese curds passable was the insane assortment of epic beers they had readily available for me. This place is a great bar first and foremost, but the food is so bad I cannot in good conscience give it a passing grade. If you want to get bombed to the point where you legitimately do not care what enters your mouth, by all means please order the entire menu. Otherwise, stop by the bar to sample their crazy arrangement of organic, chocolate, oatmeal beers and leave to get food anywhere else. Even a fast food restaurant is more acceptable. read more

The swing seats in the patio are cool. The burgers we ordered came out raw and inedible. When we asked for them to re-cooked to the proper temperature, which they eventually did, but only after attempting to lecture us about what medium rare looks like. After bringing the now overcooked burgers, the lady said that their new policy is to cook all burgers well done so they don't have to deal with picky customers like us. Good times. Boulder Tap House is in a prime location - probably one of the best locations in town. So it was no surprise when our group suggested we stop there on the way to a wedding reception in kimball. The first half of our party showed up to sticky menus - not ideal, it's something we can overlook. We ordered beers and a few apps, and the waiter, per usual left us with some app plates. Unfortunately, we were left with plates that came out of the dishwasher in a stack - there was cheese stuck to a number of plates. Gross. The waiter was great, super apologetic, but when nothing's wrong you don't need to apologize. The appetizers weren't stellar and I'm not sure if they'd be enough to entice me back. read more

Went in with some friends today, I've been here a bunch of times and it was always good, this time it was good too service was good food was good, but I wanted to leave this review because I think it might be getting to be a bad neighborhood, their host was wearing body armor of some kind and the dude seemed really creepy. Not a St. Cloud fan. For a larger city in MN it sure is a foodie wasteland. Luckily there is now a place I can go to drink some craft beer and try and forget that I'm actually in St. Cloud. This place has plenty of taps, I didn't count but it looked like 30 or so craft taps and then nearly 10 crappy macros, at least they have something for everyone I guess. I was going to go with a solid 3 stars but then I thought about it again. For St. Cloud this place deserves another. The food is bar food but it's a relatively massive step up from your typical crapplebees or any other similar place. They have a really big menu with plenty to choose from including a pretty nice selection of wings. BTW, the inferno wings aren't very hot but they're pretty good still. If you're a hardcore spice junkie like me they won't cut it. The burgers however not made with grass fed or local beef are actually pattied in house (at least that's what they told me) so that's at least an upgrade from typical bar burger frozen pucks and really, they are pretty tasty. I've sat at the bar both times I've visited and the bartenders have all been very friendly so no complaints there. All and all this place is an upgrade from most of the places in St. Cloud. The food is actually on par with Granite City now that I think about it but the beer selection is light years ahead. read more

Stopped here last night with a group of 14 friends! My fourth trip to this place. Our server was friendly and attentive! Even though we were a large group she didn't add in a gratuity, which I appreciate as I tend to tip more than what they give themselves. The food was great, as usual! Looking forward to my next trip to St Cloud so I can stop in again. I always tend to order the Brown Sugar & Smoked Cheddar burger, mmmmm! The burgers are ok and the cheese curds are awesome. Chunks of cheese cut in squares and fried. The dipping sauce is what brings them over the top. The one problem I have with this place is that there are too many tvs and there are always screaming kids running around. I know that it is a sports bar, but when I am trying to enjoy a meal with my husband I would like to be able to hear him talk. read more

I visited the Tap House recently for dinner with family - it's your standard type of sports bar restaurant, but with many more craft beer choices and smaller menu. Most of the menu choices are burgers and wings, which might be an issue for some, but not for me. Beer menu was pretty solid, lots of good craft beers on tap, and decent happy hour deals. Had it not been right after all the holiday parties and massive amounts of food, I would've tried the "defibrillator" burger - this monstrosity was a double bacon cheeseburger with cheese curds on top - sounded pretty epic. Positives: -Good craft beer menu, with decent prices during happy hour -Awesome huge cube cheese curds -Decent burger and fries -Tons of TVs, good place to catch a game Negatives: -Menu is a bit slim -Doesn't really add anything too original or new I enjoyed the food here, I was just a little disappointed it didn't add anything really that new to the eating options in the St. Cloud area - especially with Old Chicago, Granite City, and Buffalo Wild Wings all nearby. But, I'd like to try the wings sometime, so i'll be back for another visit. read more

We went for lunch, maybe 12 people in the joint, waitress - oh you dint have lunch menu I will get them, she comes back to take order 10 min later. Duh no menus, so off she goes to get them. Ordered food, asked for sweetener for tea, finally got it just before end of meal after asking 3 times for it. waited forever for check, one guy walked right by me as I said excuse me, he just went his merry way. There's a lot of TVs here (more than I've ever seen at any other restaurant) with all different kinds of sports on. If that is your thing it's really nice because you don't need to turn your head and hurt your neck to see what your friends are talking about on the screen. Chances are there's a TV with the same channel on in your point of view! The staff was very friendly and efficient. The servers all seemed to work as a team and things came out promptly even though it was fairly busy. On the other hand, the food was subpar. I had a "build your own burger" so I had to pay extra for my side of fries, and the amount they gave me was very small. They were room temperature and slightly soggy. The ranch flavoring on them was pretty good, though. No one at my table ordered any drinks, but a few of them on the menu caught my eye. I will probably go back to give the alcohol a try. read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant when I first moved up here. The wings and burgers and fries were okay then I recently went back this week and received and not only bloody raw tasting burger, it also had a horrible chemical taste from the veggies or bread. The waitress was nice and understanding the manager refused to listen and kept cutting me off saying the burgers are all medium well and I'm wrong and getting short with me. I never had to complain about food or write a review in my life. I will never be back. This is a cookie cutter chain-type brew pub. That being said, there are good and bad in all types of restaurants. As this genre goes, the Boulder Tap house is pretty good, and probably better than most. They do have a very good selection of beers. They also have a menu that should appeal to almost anyone. My chicken sandwich was very good and my wife's salad was awesome. The service is good. There were some new staff members the night we were there, but you could tell that they were being watched and guided and truly trained versus being thrown on the floor to fend for themselves. Ordered food on Friday night and had delivered through a food service. Was told by driver that they were very busy. While I do understand this, it took over an hour and a half for our food to show up. Ordered 3 burgers, street tacos and some apps. My daughter said the tacos were good, but the burgers told a different story. All 3 were so overcooked that they were almost crunchy. The buns were also very hard and not easy to bite through. They also were thrown into their containers so when they did finally come they were half deconstructed. Now I don't normally like to complain in public but I wrote them an email after our experience and surprise, I haven't heard back. read more

If you ever come to St Cloud you must stop here. I travel a lot and eat out all the time. I assure you you will not find better cheese curds anywhere!! And the beer cheese soup is going to be very hard to beat. We came in at 10:30 pm no problem we could order anything off the menu, the food came quickly and service was awesome. In regards to atmosphere, if you like to zone out on TV while you eat and not bother socializing, this place is for you. There are TVs every foot around the perimeter of the restaurant. No joke. Seems to be rather excessive. Beer selection is the saving grace though, that, and the cheese curds. The beer menu is separated in to categories so you can pick based on type. All of the tap beers are $5, which is wonderful, and they serve them in their proper glassware, ensuring optimal flavor. Service was nice too. The server wasn't too nosy and wasn't totally aloof either. Needs were attended too. Overall, if they remove the TVs, the atmosphere would be better. But, if you are looking for a place to grab an affordably priced beer, it can't be beat. read more

I love the layout of the place. It's the first place I spotted coming off the freeway to the left. It's a great first stop for St. Cloud. I got there about one, and was able to grab a secluded spot, away from the families with the antsy kids. I found it odd there was just a waiter, bartender, and manager on site. It actually picked up, so often times no one was around. I ordered soup/salad combo. I loved the blue cheese dressing on a basic dinner salad. Iceberg lettuce doesn't turn me off. I like the texture, taste, and crunchiness to it. The soup was cheeseburger. It was extremely salty, and I love salt. Maybe a little boiling water would have thinned it out. It comes with the best breadstick. I noticed their HH menu and was curious about the signature wings. They have a kick and you'll need that extra drink, but they were so delicious I ate them to the bone. There was an obvious crunch that all wings don't have. I like that a small size, 6 pieces is always available.I hate being forced to order a dozen. read more
