We get our venison processed here and it is by far the best venison we've had. The local meats in the store are amazing as well. You pay for what you get and this place is complete quality! The turn around time for processing is great as well! read more

Definitely add this stop to your list! They renovated and the place is amazing! My bf's family has come here every year on their annual cabin trip. I highly recommend getting an assortment and supporting this local business. read more

Best meat in the state of MN! We used to live near their shop and didn't know we were taking it for granted! :) We've been making a point to make the drive and get our favorite fresh cut meats. Having cut sugar from our diet, it was refreshing to find a special recipe jerky that is grass fed, no sugar, not even nitrites or nitrates! It delicious!!! Thanks for thinking outside the box Jenny. Well look forward to more of your healthy creations. read more

McDonald's Meats - Natural Beef Jerky - Meat Shops Near Me - Clear Lake, Minnesota

We stop here every year on our way up to our lake cabin. All time favorite meat market. My favorite are the unique flavored wild rice brats/sausage. They have so much to offer here. This place also has porketta which I have never seen anywhere else. They always have so much staff and they are all friendly and knowledgeable, very helpful. If your lucky some weekends they have a bbq happening outside to get some lunch while you stop. read more

Very good sausages. Beef and other kinds jerky. Excellent service. High quality meats. Love this place.

As a true southerner I enjoy quality meats and some of the stranger cuts so would consider unique or unnatural. All can be found here, started off buying a Bison sirloin then elk burgers. Maple sticks and head cheese soon went into my arms already overloaded with the frozen meats. Lastly I bought some cheese curds that Ive grown quite fond of of over the years. Oh forgot to mention they have pizza brats ! read more

I used to stop by Thelen Meats which is still awesome, but McDonald's has them beat. Raspberry Chipotle bacon? Oh yeah. It really is tasty. And based upon all the award plaques they have on their wall shows that they consistenly kick butt on what they are cutting up. Like the other review says, there is a ton of different jerky styles to choose from and excellent bbq sauces to choose from that you wouldn't normally see in the cities. If you are ever making the drive up north and have a chance to stop by, do so. You'll be thankful you did. read more

Amazing sausages. Wish I lived closer so I could go more often but always stop on my way up north.

Everything we have ever purchased has been stellar (even the dog bones). McDonald's Meats has the best summer sausage I've ever eaten and their roasting chickens are second to none. I do so miss them since we've moved away. read more

We purchase meat here all the time. Great quality and price. Today we wanted to try smoking ribs so we swung in to pick some up. My husband asked a couple questions about smoking them. The butcher took his time and walked us through how to do it. He took time to show us the dry rubs and bbq sauces and what pellets we should use. He also took my husband in the back to show him how to prepare the meat. It's so nice to get this quality of customer experience as it is just not the norm any longer. 10/10, would absolutely recommend! Thanks again! read more

I was not impressed. The jerky didn't have a lot taste. Jerry was tough too. I guess I got spoiled by Scmidt's meat market in Nicollet

This is one heck of a meat shop and is an incredibly notable stop if you are into beef jerky. They make a ton of different varieties, are liberal with the samples and sell vacuum sealed packs if you want to buy some for gifts. Worth the stop every time. Do it.. read more

Best meat market hands down. The beef sticks and jerky are amazing. I live 1 1/2 hours away from the shop and have made trips there for no reason other than I wanted some jerky. My only complaint is they use to sell the jerky in pre packaged 1 lb bags. Awhile back they changed it to a 12 oz bag but the price remained the same. So it is a little more spendy than other meat markets. read more

I've driven by this place for years, noticed the signs proclaiming their beef jerky and always wondered how it was. I finally stopped and now I know: it's not half bad. Besides the jerky, McDonalds offers a good selection of meats. The porterhouse looked so good it had to be purchased. We were disappointed that they had no unfrozen pork ribs available. As you wander the store you can sample all kinds of things. I tried a "breakfast bratwurst" that had eggs and cheese mixed in with the meat. "That's different," as we say in Minnesota. Outside there was a tent set up, from which they were selling grilled burgers, pork chops, brats, etc. It looked good and the prices were right, but we were still too full from breakfast to sample. Worth a stop! read more

Award winning bacon...try the apple cinnamon, delicious maple and wild rice sausage links, homemade jerkies, and more meat than you can imagine in one little building. Its also like a little convenient store with bread, cheese, crackers, salami, even pigs ears for your dogs. The meat is high quality and a must stop every time we are driving through. read more

McDonald's Meats - Huge selection of jerky made in the building - Meat Shops Near Me - Clear Lake, Minnesota

Nice quality meats with good prices! We have been going here for years and always stop when we are nearby.

Headed up to the lake, we decided to stop at this roadside cookout that happened to be run by the folks at the awesome McDonald's meats. For a measly $3 you can get their 'chop and a pop' or a brat and a pop. We both went for the chop and it was amazing - a huge cut of excellent meat, seasoned perfectly, and grilled right before your eyes. Yum. Delicious and an excellent deal. Plus the shop it self is pretty awesome - something like 20 kinds of homemade jerky, plenty o' meat, and some absolutely amazing bacon. I'm assuming the grilling is a summer thing, but the shop is awesome year round and I thought I should get the word out there. Though, from the honks we got, I think two blond chicks standing on the side of the road devouring pork chops with our bare hands is pretty good advertisement as well. read more

Walking in, you are wrapped in the aroma of smoke, spice, and meat. Heavenly scent! Weekend hours are horrible (closed at 4 on a Saturday), and almost everything is overpriced. I'm from DC, and I can get hand crafted summer sausage cheaper, however, you know the items sold here are locally made. All in all, it's a great little home town place, and it's supporting the local economy. read more

AMAZING jerky. Best I've ever tried which covers the 4 - 5 states in Minnesota area. Make a few mile northerly jaunt off I-94 @ Clearwater exit to Clear Lake. Every meat I've tried is top notch. Jerky is my weakness though. You won't be disappointed. read more

This place always has the best meats! We live in Eden Prairie but always make a stop when we are in the area.

One of the best meat markets around. They really go out of their way to incorporate unique flavors into meal time staples. Flavored bacons and brats. The smoked turkey jerky. Even the pre-made meatballs. All delicious. I never walk out of here with anything less than a cooler full -- ready to refill the home freezer read more

Italian-sausage-flavored bacon. Drive up there...immediately!

Are you kidding me right now? Ive been going to this place for 15 years and I have never EVER been disappointed! Its perfect for people with cabins in the Lincoln Lakes, Brainerd Lakes area because its right off hwy 10 in Clear Lake at about the half way point between Minneapolis/St Paul and your cabin. When you walk in just look at the walls because they are covered in awards. I personally love the taco brats, cheese hashbrowns stuffed chicken breast, and any of their steaks. You cant find a crazier selection of flavored brats anywhere in the state of MN. Make it a priority to stop here for all you BBQ needs! read more

GREAT place to stop! They had tons of samples to try before you buy. We spent over $50 and easily could have doubled that. Such tasty snacks and great grilling meats. We loaded up on breakfast meats for our camping trip and bought some awesome jerky. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I only wish we'd happened upon it before we stopped for lunch because they were serving up some tasty lunch outside in the parking lot. Definitely keep that in mind if you drive by during a meal time. Yummy. We will definitely put that on our next itinerary when we head up north! read more

I have two hogs per year processed here. They do A very nice job on the processing & wrapping. The seasoned sausages made from the hogs is also very good. Considering the quality of the finished product, the price is right in line I believe. read more

I was going to have a deer processed here, after choosing the cuts to be done, the woman who was taking the order asked what 3 items I wanted the trim to made into, sausage, sticks, etc. I told her I wanted more than 3 items, apparently she had no idea how this part of the processing works, she then stated that since I was getting steaks and chops this would reduce the amount of trim. I told her one thing had nothing to do with the other, she then had to go into the back and talk to the meat cutter, after that she still could not give me an approximate trim weight or finished weight. I just left and did not have my deer done there, I took it to another meat market closer to home. This butcher took a look at the deer and estimated 40 to 45 lbs. of trim, Simple. I expected more from a meat market that is supposed to be so good and has been in business so long. read more
