The reason for our visit is their month-long Star Wars pop-up that started 5/4/26 (of course). They nailed it in every sense of the imagination from themed drinks (alcohol and n/a) to the interior and exterior decor. Hoot & Annie is currently The Mos Eisley Cantina. And, it is! It's as though we've been transformed from this town that's about 20 minutes from Austin to the actual Mos Eisley Cantina. My boyfriend is a huge Star Wars nerd and absolutely loves it. I'm a fan and a supporter and dig it. It's literally the next best thing to Galaxy's Edge. No joke. We love it here and we'll be back even during non-Star Wars times!

Everything was delicious! Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The bartender was the server in the area we were in. She brought us water and then disappeared for 15 minutes. I was watching as she was on a laptop doing inventory of the alcohol with a man calling out what was needed. Another waitress was at the hostess stand and waved and asked if we were alright and we said no one had taken our order. She went to the bartender and asked if our table was hers and she got up to come take it. Unfortunately, that was the last time we saw her until we were ready for the check and she only came then because I stood up to go get it from her.

I really liked everything that we tried but the highlights were definitely the lamb ribs (I don't even like lamb very much), the zaatar bread, charred cabbage, and the seared branzino with beurre blanc. They had a few mocktail options, so I picked the Miami Nice, which was a refreshing strawberry flavor profile. They have valet parking and validation at the host stand which made it very convenient for us! Everything was so picturesque here. I can confirm: the view is spectacular... if you can actually see it. Only 80% of the tables have a view worth making a reservation for. When I arrived, they seated me at a two-top right by the host stand, just inside the rooftop area. Technically outside, but functionally indoors. My view consisted mostly of the backs of people's heads, a sliver of sky with direct sun, distant buildings, and one very unfortunate, ugly rooftop. The host said she'd try to move me to a table on the "other end," but explained that some guests were overstaying their reservation time limits and hadn't left yet. Then, with a sliver of sun showing, they moved me to the good side of the bar. I was seated in a low lounge setup with a couch and two chairs in a space that could easily fit 5-6 people, and the view was completely different. From there, I could see the water, skyline, bridge, and the rest of the sunset as the sky changed colors. I didn't stay long, because now I felt rude taking such a large table for one person! What I Ordered Botanical Reset Mocktail -- $12 Chocolate Tahini Mousse -- $11 The mocktail was refreshing, but the mousse was the memorable choice. It was one of the best desserts because it was rich, balanced, and an incredible mix of textures and flavors. During bat season, this bar also has a fantastic view of the Congress Avenue Bridge bats, for some of the tables... This bar was confusing to locate. The elevator didn't list the bar, and the floor I initially got off on (following other rooftop wanderers) looked like it belonged to something else entirely. Here's how to find it: Go to the 6th floor. When you exit the regular elevator, turn right. Walk down the hallway to the end. Turn right again, and go down a couple of stairs. P6 will be straight ahead. There's also a separate elevator somewhere else, apparently, but I took the one from the lobby. Seating tip: If they seat you on the side as you enter P6, you might not get much of a view. If you're on the opposite side (like in the photos on their website), the sunset and bridge views are absolutely worth it.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.

I ended up getting the espresso martini, and then my other person got an old-fashioned. I was asked if I wanted a shot of Bailey's with the espresso martini and that to me would've been way too much. The martini itself was almost kind of smoky. Not your typical kind of very crisp espresso martini had a nice foam on top of it. We also ended up ordering the sliders to go along as we had dinner reservations, and that bacon jam on there is magnificent. The sliders were all juicy and very well put together bun was very soft and the flavor of everything was really good. I would totally go back just for the sliders. Overall the service was great. The views were also quite stunning of downtown and the ambience overall which is very chill. The front part of the bar was actually closed due to a private event so I can imagine getting to take photos on that corner would be really pretty to see.

I've stayed at Archer Hotel several times whenever I'm in the Domain area since my office is…read morenearby, and it continues to be my go-to hotel. Every stay has been consistently excellent. The rooms are always spotless, beautifully designed, and full of thoughtful touches that make a difference, like plush robes, slippers, complimentary caramels, Fuji water, etc. This visit, I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade, and the spacious room with a huge terrace made the stay even more special. I almost always order room service, and it's consistently fresh and delicious. This time I had the wedge salad with shrimp and glasses of wine, and everything was perfect. The following evening, a coworker and I enjoyed drinks and shared a slice of cheesecake at the bar downstairs, and it was another great experience. The biggest reason I keep coming back, though, is the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful. They consistently go above and beyond to make every stay comfortable. I highly recommend Archer Hotel to anyone staying in the Domain area, whether for business or leisure.

The could be improved: the fitness room is pretty lame. If they had a true strength training area - all they would need would be a single half-rack and a kettlebell setup - and they could at least they could hit the basics of cardio + strength. They have a cable machine but it maxes at like 72 lbs a side. Anyhow, if you're serious about the fitness part, look at the local gyms - you can generally get a week pass and there are some seriously nice gyms in Austin. Secondly, my blinds didn't overlap and so a crack of light would come in. I managed to remedy it with one of their provided clothes hangers leveraging the clamps. Both minor - but maybe someone there will read it and make a few tweaks.
