In my opinion you get a lot of balls for a good price to practice. It would be nice if this place had some automation to the driving range like most golf courses in the area offer. Came here during the week in the evening and it was fairly busy. Ive been looking for an alternative to top golf to practice my swing and this range was pretty close to home. Im fairly new to golf but i usually practice 8 hours a week at a local indoor golf club. So first thing, the price is unbeatable and i got the second largest basket for a really good price. I only got to try the full range area since i only had yellow balls and wasn't sure where to get the white balls (chipping area was white balls only). Anyways, the full range area was pretty run down and the surface was uneven with barely any grass. I couldn't really practice my irons and wasted a lot of balls (i noticed a lot of people were not having good connections either so it wasn't just me lol). Id come back here to practice my driver though since i didn't have any trouble using my tee and hitting the ball and it is more similar to an actual golf course than top golf. Im sure they have their reasons but i wish they had golf mats so we weren't just hitting dirt. The staff was nice and this range has a lot of potential. read more

Turf conditions have been improved significantly on the wedge and long range. Chipping range is still in great condition. Putting green is unusable, but, as they say, "it is what is". It's key to show up before 5 on weekdays (probably 1 on weekends) if you want fresh turf. Otherwise, you'll probably have trouble finding a solid section of grass. It's been super busy lately. Hoping some improved revenue will lead to some more improvements; namely, new putting area, new balls, leveling out the long range (years of pivots and abuse has made the ground uneven), fixing the movable shade. read more

You're pretty much hitting out of dirt more than grass on the long range. The short range is in better shape and the putting and chipping area are honestly solid! I also took a lesson there and was impressed with Jihoon's work with me. read more

After covid hit this place has sadly gone downhill. There used to be a food truck that served burgers, nice seating areas, you could order a beer, environment was great. 4 years post covid and everything is still walled up. They do the bare minimum to keep the place in business, yet they've raised their prices on buckets of poor quality old range balls that dive bomb half the time. Putting green is all messed up, dead grass and dirt everywhere, staff could care less about their paying customers. read more

This place is awesome! I went thinking it was just a driving range but it's actually a full blown golf practice facility with a driving range, wedge/iron range, chipping green, and putting green. The place itself has plenty of parking and is large enough where you didn't have to wait around for the areas to open. The bags of balls are priced appropriately and the staff is super welcoming. As someone who is new to the game, I was really impressed with this area. Perfect place to practice without the typical stuffiness of going to a private range or putting area. Hackers heaven! For about ten bucks you can spend the afternoon chipping, putting, wedging, and ranging. This is a grass no mat range that is maintained very well. It is a hike to the driving range but there are pull carts available. I do like that there are separate areas for each facet of your game. I spent some time at the chipping area, then I moved out to the range, and finally to their wedge target area. Folks at the clubhouse were very accomodating as this was my first visit and I had a few questions regarding the setup. I did notice that they are also applying for a liquor license which would be AOK. I agree with others that this is probably the best public range in the area. read more

The setup of the facility is incredible and the staff who work there are really welcoming and friendly. However, if you get there at the end of the day (after work or around 6 pm) there's hardly any grass left to hit off of. You're basically hitting balls off dirt. There has to be a better solution here...Is it possible to move the area that people hit off of back at 6 pm? Or, even possibly offer mats to hit off of later in the day? The fact that this place is open until 10 pm is awesome. The chipping and putting green are great as well. Just need to figure out how to combat the lack of grass on the range at the end of the day/evenings for people who arrive there later. read more

What a place!! For less than $20, you can hit golf balls off of actual grass that is in excellent condition. There is an area to hit chip shots to an actual green, another area to hit longer approaches to many targets (that have accurate distances!) and a full length driving range to hit long irons, woods & driver. There is even a well maintained putting green to practice putting. It's my new favorite place to work on my game! Oh! And they even have a special going. Been out here off and on thru the years. Good putting green/chipping area/short game area which are the first few areas you will see. Off in the distance is the 'driving range' where you can pound balls as you please. Overall, a solid place to work on your game with decent prices. Easy to burn an hour or two out here BUT: --At least 90% of practice balls are in pretty rough shape. I usually save the best balls for last so I can stripe my driver 100+ yds. --'Driving range' is a good walk to get to. I walk when I play so no biggie but a heads up if you are anti-walking. --I don't know the rule for bringing your own water. I have always tucked a bottle or two in my bag. There isn't any water out in the practice areas. --If you are sucking down water and have to get rid of some, the bathroom is in the 'clubhouse'. If you are at the 'driving range' area, its a pretty decent walk. No trees readily available so don't think about it. --I've been out here the day after a relatively light rain and the 'driving range' area was still pretty sloppy. read more

Great place to practice getting back on to the fairway... from the dirt, mud, sand... anything but grass. Seems alright for the price but go ahead and try it to find out it's not worth it. Honestly it's not that bad for the price. Just disappointing for how neglected the place feels. Especially the golf balls. When I go to a driving range I expect that at least most of the golf balls aren't egg shaped or cracked. read more

It's definitely a solid place to work on your game. Not perfect, but it does the job. Setup is great, complete with a full driving range, a ~90 yd pitching area, a chipping area with a bunker, and a decent putting green. Sure there are days where I get to the range and the grass is shredded by the hackers that had preceded before me throughout the day, but you'll usually find a small patch of grass to hit off of. Kinda wish for a place that has this much potential for some better amenities. The actual driving range was all tore up and looking to the front and back I couldn't see any good grass to hit off of. A water jug would be a cool thing to put out in the summer... the bucket they have to clean clubs was full of what looked like algae, and no brush to clean with. I mean it's the only range that's close by unless you go to a course. The range balls they have are "ok" you get a couple decent balls and a ton of cut up, or damaged balls. read more

I needed a reliable facility to work on my game, from putting to driving, and I've found the place to do it. This is more than a range, it's a full-on training campus with dedicated putting, chipping/pitching medium, and long club areas (four distinct grounds). The balls for chipping and putting are provided free. For under 20 bucks and 120 balls I get a two-hour workout. I've been going 2x week and my score is shrinking (in my head anyway). At the very least the golf driving range is a low priced, enjoyable no frills solid spacious campus to improve my golf. I need it. read more

This place is great! The staff are very nice and understanding! We were given a free small bucket of balls, because they only take card and we only had cash, but we didn't know. I'm sorry to say I've been to this horrible place 3 times expecting it to get better. It's only gotten worse. First, you have to walk over 200 yards to the driving range. Second, in the spring or summer the grass is a miserable excuse for turf of any kind. You should tee up for any practice shot. Third, Today, in sheer desperation I went for the last time. After buying a bucket of balls and walking over 200 yards to the range I find out the entire range is under 1/4 inch of water. Seriously. I took the bucket back and asked the person , behind the bulletproof glass, if anyone there had seen the swamp they expected me to stand in to hit balls? Great range! I had a blast out there today! This place has a full driving range so I can curse my woods and driver, has a 80-90 yard chip to the green area so I can shake my head in frustration when my 60 degree goes 110 yards, has a chip around the green area that I dared not try because I skull too many shots, and has a putting green that reminded me I can't putt! By far the best public range in the area to work on any aspect of your golf game. I need to work on all areas so I'll see you guys again! read more

They have a 4 separate areas for putting, short chips, longer chips and pitches, and driving and longer irons. Most driving ranges only have a driving area. This range has created ample room for its customers. read more

It's a decent place to start out golfing if you are in the area; however, business practices are questionable and I will not return. They offered a frequent players card where you pay $108 and it is worth something like $138. This is all fine and dandy, and they don't tell you anything besides this. Then this May 1 they decide to nullify all cards saying that "as stated in the terms... we can cancel all cards after 120 days of purchase". I drive out there to try to spend the rest of my card on gloves because I moved, but they just tell me sorry can't do anything. Seems like the accounting department just swindled $1,000s from gift card holders - not a fan after that. read more

This place is awful! I went here on a rainy night looking to hit some balls and the lady at the front desk didn't want to be bothered and just smoke her cigarette outside. I realized the driving range is some 250 yards walk from the clubhouse. You have to walk down this dirt/muddy road that is quite a journey. I asked do you drive there or walk or what? And she said you have to walk, or I can drive you but have to charge you Really?! I told her politely that I'll pass and I'm disappointed the way this place is setup and was looking forward to a home base driving range as I just moved locally. Also their ball prices are ridiculous and are low grade top flight type rock hard yellow balls. She got snippy with me when I said I'm going to try Top Golf and I walked out lol. Try using logic when you build a facility. Making customers walk 250+ yards through mud or charging them to get a courtesy ride down is asinine. Good Luck to this place, yikes! read more

Formerly Tejas Golf. this place is a good place to practice, especially if you dont feel like wearing a collared shirt and go to a golf course. They don't have the unlimited balls like they used to, but with the purchase of a bucket, you can use their putting and chipping/pitching greens for free. Also, i noticed that if you want to hit more balls while you're on the range, you can call them to bring another bucket (haven't tried this myself though). The putting greens roll, but they don't roll as true as a practice green at a nicer golf course. If you're looking to just practice putting, I would suggest going to a local golf course. Having said that, their chipping/pitch ranges are plenty big. their driving range is plenty long. It looks like they also added a patio area off their main office too. Not sure if they sell food, but it looked like they sold some beer. read more

Employee William R gives Leadbetter a bad name!!! I originally gave Leadbetter a review with a couple stars, mainly because (1) I would have liked to see some smaller bucket options since it's hard to hit $15 worth of balls in 100 degree weather in one sitting, and (2) it's a little misleading to have a "Daily Fee" that is not good for the day (like TaylorMade Golf Experience in Vegas for example) but only one session. Response from William R at Leadbetter: "I went to an all you can eat chinese buffet for lunch and they wouldn't let me come back for dinner. Crazy! I remember you coming in and asking several questions, most of them stupid. Although I believe there are no stupid questions, just stupid people. Best range in Austin area hands down. They have a massive range which is very well kept, level ground and great for practice. They also have a short range area which seems to be no longer than 100yrds. Perfect for using those wedges and you can really try to dial them in by hitting into the baskets they have set up at different yards. The chipping green is huge with almost every scenario you'd come across on a real course so tons of practice. The balls on the chipping green are already sitting there to use so you don't have to use the ones you paid for. Even the putting green is impressive, rolls pretty true and well kept. The one thing I didn't see was sand but I could have missed it as I have only been here a few times now. This place really is amazing for practicing golf and I will definitely be back. read more

This is the poorest excuse for a golf range i have ever seen. The golf balls are the rock hard old yellow ones noone uses anymore,out of round almost smooth,dirty just horrid. You have to walk almost a 1/4 mile thru rocky uneven terrain to get to a weed infested,blotchy mix3d grass,sandy loam area. On the way the so called chipping green is a un manicured mixture of weed and some unknow grasses. When you chip there is no telling what the ball will do. Just worthless. There is no way i d ever go back there and i work at a major computer company right by it. I also shared this review with our golf social media site at work, some 2,000 golfers. read more
