There is plenty of parking but it does get busy at times so we like to go earlier in the day. Lots of covered pavilion areas with picnic tables that you can use if they aren't reserved; and of course the amazing trail/park that stretches for miles. There is a lake as well and you can catch people fishing , kayaking etc. I've found the park to be clean and well maintained each time we go. In the summer, they open up the splash pad which has been recently upgraded and it's awesome. For sure one of my favorite park areas in the Cedar Park/Austin area. Definitely check this one out.

Formerly known as Round Rock Skatepark, this is an impressive spot that's part of a well equipped community centre. The skatepark takes up quite a large area and features and sprawling street course and a large bowl. The street course is an end-to-end setup starting with a series of 4-5ft banks and transitions that lead to a bunch of obstacles including stairs, rails, hubba's and boxes. At the far end the street section rounds out with a few more banks and transitions as well as a little pyramid hip and and a 3-4ft transition. Scattered throughout there is a few interesting bits and pieces like a rough-as-guts 3ft trannie with chunky pool style edging. But I will say that this place is very deceiving from the videos and pics that were previously reviewed. This is a small park; please don't expect more. There is unique parts the park and that's cool but the flow of the park is really just 1 or 2 directions that's all. If this is the only park you know then I'm sure you make the best of the situation but if you've been to other parks in Austin and the surroundings areas then you know what I'm saying. This park is shake-able of course but the luster does die down fairly quickly. To compare it to another small skatepark, the park on well branch; small but the flow of the park is really nice with an A-frame on one side and a nice stair set on the other side, mellow U-shaped bowl in the middle to carve back into the half pipe, with roll in's on both sides of that. That park is one of the better smaller parks, but so much you can do to have a great expertise for hours. This park doesn't hold up to that...unless you truly love transition. That's where this park gets its glory back, the transition here is pretty unique and seems to be fun and spacious enough to have a bunch fun. But Cole out and check it out for yourself and you be the judge for the toe off skating you enjoy!

Found this beautiful lake to take a walk! This lake has a park where you can take your children to…read morethe playground or even play tennis. I decided to go for a walk around the lake and I definitely got my steps it. There are multiple covers picnic tables and benches to just sit and take a break or enjoy the scenery. You can get out on the lake in a boat as well as fish! If you're lucky you may even see some of the wild life. There is so much open land that you can go out for a picnic. I went mid afternoon and there were a lot of families walking in the park. You could layout in the grass for a picnic if you wanted. I even spotted a few deer through the trees across the lake. Absolutely beautiful.

Unsafe at the moment…read more There have been reports recently that I have heard of men hiding in the bathrooms, including the women's bathrooms. One recent report was that 3 men came out of the bathroom and was headed toward someone's daughter. Another mom called the police recently because men were recording the children at the splash pad, but they didn't have any kids of their own. The bathroom by the playground and splash pad has two directions you can exit.. to the left towards the splash pad or toward the right towards the side wooded area. Please don't let your children go in there alone and always check the bathroom first. Lakewood park, please hire security and heavily monitor the children's area.

The Heath Eiland and Morgan Moss BMX Skate Park (official name) is seriously rad. There are rails and ramps, ledges, and more. This is an ideal setting for boarders, in-line skaters, and BMXers. There's even a skateable piece of art. Of course there are bathrooms and places to chill. I think what makes this park even more rad are the cool people you meet when there. I love hangin' back and watching seshes. Skateboarding is not a crime!

The park has a bowl and various ramps, catering to experienced and novice alike. Parks like this tends to draw more skateboards than BMX. This park was no different - I think 80% were skaters. But I didn't see any hostility between skaters and bikers. And no one was territorial and acted as if they own the park. Even when little kids (under 5) got on to ride around, no one got mad at them or threw any attitude. Overall, everyone was pretty cool and were there just to have fun. If you go, few suggestions. 1) Wear at least a helmet. I didn't see any crashes, but as safety precaution, protect your head - especially if you have a little one. 2) Bring water - lots of it. There is no water fountain at the park (but a 7-11 just few blocks down). 3) Go early, especially if you have kids. Afternoon tends to draw out bigger kids/adults so it could be more dangerous if you have smaller kids. If you go early, it's still open enough that your kids can enjoy the park without worrying about getting in other people's ways. 4) Be careful if you're allergic to bee stings. Lots of empty soda cups draw bees. Even though the cleaning crew emptied out trash cans, I saw a lot of bees buzzing around. Couple of negatives - there is no shade so in the summer, it'll be HOT, especially when the sun bounces off the white concrete. Parking could be a challenge - we went on a Sunday so we were able to park at the lot (but requires a permit from Austin Rec Center on weekdays).

My nephew was extremely excited!!I noticed that everything was thoroughly thought out. The entrance gate is slightly heavy (two to pass through. Other area were the same (heavy gates to prevent kids from entering the paved areas without permission & help. There were several areas to play: sensory areas, sand box (large), agility, strength training for the littles, and a cute township area where kids can ride (provided mini bikes) bikes or scooters in the "city". The imagination stations were adorable. Most areas were covered well. They had several restrooms and water stations. Seating for birthdays and such. I didn't have time to take pictures. But it's true to the website. I highly recommend it!

Very tempting playground. In fact, I even tested it out - small climbing wall and twirly slide passed my inspection. A child on a bike arrived shortly after. I promptly left as if I didn't just go "weeeee" on the slide. There's also a nice splash pad and skating area which I thought were cool. In one area, there's a pond with some ducks. Then there's a soccer field close to the cemetery. Oh yeah, there's also a cemetery which I think is a bit weird in terms of city planning. But hey, I guess that doesn't stop people from coming and enjoying a nice park.

One section has a pond with a jumping ledge that dogs love to jump into the water from. The park has water stations and also a dog washing station. The small dog zone is kind of rocky but I haven't seen any dogs mind. It also has a walking track so you can get your steps in while your dog plays. Seating for humans throughout. Parking is also ample and easy. They are closed Tuesdays for cleaning.

My son started skateboarding a few months ago and we signed him up for a day camp at Texas…read moreSkateboarding Club, sight unseen. It turned out to be a great experience, with very positive vibe, boys and girls of all ages rooting each other on and lead by Bryan, a very nice man who runs a solid, organized camp. Located in or near a paintball field, there are several skateboard ramps of different sizes and trails for BMX. A little rustic but everything needed to have a great camp. My son learned a lot, made a friend and came back very enthused about his skateboarding (albeit a little scraped up). I really loved the confidence that seemed to build with kids encouraging each other on, even when they weren't yet able to complete a trick. The drive from downtown also wasn't too bad for just 4 days - about 25 to 30 minutes south of downtown in traffic. I'd highly recommend this camp and am considering joining the club offered as well.
