This is our local donut shop so we've tried the classic ones which we've loved. During the holiday season they had a sufganiyot donut filled with three different berries (strawberries, raspberries and blueberries) which I loved. The iced coffee was pretty average, nothing special. Staff is always friendly and efficient. It's a very small shop so not much room to eat inside. I have been here twice now and I love their doughnuts! The brioche type are a chewy yet soft delicious base for whatever! I had the nutella filled my first time and tried a special with chocolate and berry this time. It was like a berry jam flavor, so good and fresh tasting. I love their staple donut! They done have a lot of flavors but sometimes it's all about the simple things. The brown butter raised glazed is my favorite I can say I get it at least 2-3 times a month. They do sometimes have a rotating new donut or seasonal donut. this is in a nice cozy neighborhood in uptown so you might have to circle a block to find some parking. If you are going on a weekend morning expect there to be some other folks you might have to wait for. It's nice to come in and the staff is ALWAYS friendly. read more

Whenever I'm in the area, I always try to swing by Bogart's! Service is always great; I've never had a problem with the workers, they seem to love their job and move about efficiently. I always go for the chocolate cake donut which is nearly black with the type of chocolate. Following that up with their special cold press cake donut, a perfect partner to a cup of their coffee. I've tried their customer-favorite browned butter donut, but I find it too rich and sweet for my taste. I will say though, their browned butter soft serve is where it's at, it's the best soft serve I've ever had! I've yet to try their chocolate soft serve, so that might change lol. Stopped by the other day for some donuts, and glad we did! It has a really small interior but plenty of fresh donuts. My favorite was the lemon poppyseed, which I don't think they have around all the time. The glazed was very good and on par with some of the better ones I've had. Ok - I'll start by saying I have thought Bogart's is overrated for YEARs, but I recently went back and tried their cake donut with sprinkles and their lavender cake donut... and they were good. The lavender donut was even, must I admit it, pretty fantastic. My main issue in the past was that you just couldn't taste the lavender. Well, they clearly switched things up in the kitchen because there are whole pieces of lavender in the donut now - nice! I was happily surprised. The staff are very pleasant and nice to talk to. The donuts are $2.25 each and a large coffee was $3.50. They do accept apple pay. No real indoor seating, but there are some benches outside. They are pet friendly and offered the dog I was with a bone. A bit of a redemption trip for me! Street parking. read more

Found this cute little shop in South Uptown on a walk with some friends and we decided to stop by and grab a little snack. They have a whole assortment of doughnuts from more traditional to fillings like Nutella. They even offer soft serve ice cream on a doughnut although it was too cold for us to try when we went by. We were just looking at the doughnuts in the window trying to decide what to get, and the server actually came outside to help us despite it being so cold. She was kind and helpful and she let us order outside which was really nice. I chose to get the vanilla bean buttercream filled doughnut. It was pretty good and definitely massive, but the filling was a little bit underwhelming for the size of the doughnut. I did enjoy it and will probably stop here along my walks, but I'm not sure if I'd go out of my way to get it. I am very excited to try to the soft serve doughnuts in the summertime. read more

This is a super cute donut shop in Minneapolis with raised donuts from their rich brioche dough and then my favorite their scratch made cake donuts! They also serve their soft serve brown butter ice cream on the weekends. The staff was so friendly and street parking was pretty easy but does fill up on the weekends. We had a local giving us a quick tour of Minneapolis when she suddenly remembered this place and detoured. Glad she did because it has very yummy donuts! I got a cake donut and it was so soft... I'm used to most cake donuts having a firmer, denser consistency, so this was quite the treat! I also got to try the brown butter donut because my friend "bit off more than she could chew" since she'd already had breakfast and their crème-filled donuts are MASSIVE. Just the right amount of sweet! So obviously, the donuts are tasty. But apparently that can cause issues because this place's hours are literally open to "whenever they sell out," which from word on the street can be pretty early. We were lucky they had a solid variety still at noon-thirty, possibly because it was a Tuesday? The employees were courteous and efficient enough, imo. You won't be able to go inside though; rather you'll order by looking in through the window at the selection, and using a touchless or chip reader to pay. One fun thing is that they have a bucket of sidewalk chalk out so you can leave your mark on the pavement when you go. ;) read more

I was never really a fan of doughnuts until I discovered the masterpiece that is Bogart's Doughnut Co.!! I love the thick, doughy cake that makes up these doughnuts. They're sweet, but not over-the-top sweet. I love their classic Brown Butter-Glazed doughnut made from brioche dough. The glaze is truly one-of-a-kind, and recently I discovered that you can buy it by the jar at their shop at 36th and Bryant! The Nutella-Filled is another favorite, made with that amazing brioche dough and oozing with chocolatey hazelnut goodness. The Lavender Cake is a delicious choice for when I'm feeling only slightly indulgent, as it's smaller and made with real lavender and a soft vanilla bean glaze. The Doughnut Holes are also a great option for sharing the Bogart's beauty with other folks! If you are in the South Uptown area, definitely make a stop at Bogart's and experience this local gem. The first time I had Bogart's doughnuts I was at a wine tasting event and they were handing out their brown butter doughnut holes. They were incredible! We don't often get doughnuts so it wasn't until a year or so later before we stopped to grab some. When we did.... we picked up some for Mother's Day. I wasn't quite as impressed with their goodies as the first time though. The one that stood out was the lavender cake donut. Yum! They have an ok system for pickup during the pandemic and if you order ahead... you don't have to wait in the line. There was a pickup area for you to go and grab yours. You get a text at a certain time and then it will be ready. Doughnuts: Brown Butter raised- eat it while its warm or warm it up. I wish they made these in donut holes as well. They were tasty, but not quite as good as I remembered. Would still recommend getting. Sprinkle doughnut- basic sprinkle donut but their donuts all taste like fresh bread and not a typically donut. Chocolate glazed- decent, but not crave worthy. LAVENDER- we made the mistake of only getting two of these!!! They are the best in the old fashioned doughnuts! Reminds me of fruity pebbles. So good! Get it! Weekend seasonals: Coffee doughnut - the description sounded good at the time, but the doughnut was one of our least favorites. It tasted like coffee grounds and no sugar. Blah. Tart Apple Hand pie- they said tart and I didn't really think it wouldn't have any sugar on it. My error for not reading the description well enough I guess. We actually got 4 of these and only ate part of one. It was a huge let down. All and all we really enjoy Bogarts, but will stick with the brown butter raised and the lavender doughnut. We are obsessed with Bogart's! They specialize in making huge, pillowy yet chewy, brioche donuts. They also make a mean cake donut too, but it's all about the brown butter brioche. I think the brown butter brioche is my favorite, but all tied in a close second are: nutella brioche, lavender cake, vanilla-filled brioche, chocolate cake, and whatever else they are making on any given day. You can also get some coffee, beverages, or merch here. Oh and they occasionally sell brown butter soft serve ice cream which I neeeeeed to try asap. You can even get the ice cream sandwiched between a donut. Have mercy! During COVID, they have a great safe touchless setup. I like their donuts, and they're a nice invigorating bike ride from my neighborhood, almost justifies about 1/10 of these giant pillows of dough. I do not quite LOVE their donuts. There's just something about never quite having the right depth of flavor, as though maybe they're prioritizing size over flavor innovation. I just want something a bit more for $4 a donut. But today I went in and had a super negative experience with a staff member who was super rude and disrespectful towards me. He also almost didn't give me the doughnuts I payed for. Had our first visit to Bogarts recently after hearing great things from friends. Our family had somewhat mixed reviews. We all thought the donuts were pretty good. Some more than others. One family member thought the raised donuts had too strong of a flavor of yeast. I disagreed, and I thought all the donuts were tasty. Not a huge variety, which is fine for me, I don't care for crazy combinations. We all loved the brown butter, doughnut but far the most popular item they have was the brown butter soft serve ice cream. That is something we would all go back for many times over! I really hate to give a low rating to a local business, but I'm really surprised by the quality of doughnuts we received from Bogart's. We ordered delivery through Doordash and got the brown butter glaze doughnut, doughnut holes, and a chocolate cake doughnut. The brown butter and doughnut holes were incredibly dry, to the point where I suspected they might be at least a day old but possibly older. Honestly, anything from Dunkin Donuts would've been much more enjoyable. The chocolate cake doughnut was better, but marginally. I could tell there was decent dark coco powder used, but there seemed to be missing some sugar or salt. It just wasn't very flavorful, and again rather dry. We ended up heating the cake doughnut and some doughnut holes just to see if that would improve the flavor, and it did, but very minimally. We also received our order in the morning, so staleness shouldn't have been an issue. I'm honestly baffled and hope this was just an off day? I might try Bogart's again in the future but probably not for a long while. read more
