To preface, Drunken noodles are my life (please read in "Chipotle is my life" kid's voice). Thai spicy is next level and totally my jam. I wanted to give Bodhi, which is locally owned and known to be authentic, a try. We actually arrived during their mid day break and chilled on the Avenue waiting until they reopened for the day at 4:30pm. Yes, it was that serious! The menu is on the smaller side, but had their noodle dishes and curries front and center. My brain really wanted to try the khao soi, but my stomach said drunken noodles. When the dish came out, I was a bit... disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it was definitely tasty, but the portion was childsized. We finished our food in five minutes, with some change to spare. It was absolutely authentic, but they went pretty easy handed on the spice. I had to ask for a spice rack to really bring out that oomph. Service was friendly, seemed like they were busy with takeout orders, which is great for them. There are a few tables for outdoor dining, but we opted to sit indoors. It is a very small space and tables aren't quite six feet apart. Not sure I would order their drunken noodles again (we ate somewhere else afterwards), but will return for the noodle dishes. read more

I work at a restaurant as a server. And from one service industry worker to another, you really need to clean up your act. My girlfriend's cousins that came all the way across the country from Chicago and Australia wanting to experience what our area had to offer. We all love Thai food and were looking around Yelp for somewhere to enjoy a meal. What we had expected was at least the bare minimum of respect while we ate but we couldn't even get to the table. When we went inside, we made eye contact with the host and server but received no greeting upon entering. After seeing our group, they turned and continued their side conversation. When we walked up to the stand, we were loosely pointed to a general area of tables for us to sit at. The standard should be a greeting and walking guests over with menus in hand. But all that was received was a cold shoulder. We will not be coming back due to the terrible service this restaurant has to offer and the lack of respect that was given to me and our guests from across the world. read more

We ordered some great food last night online from Bodhi Corner on Chestnut Street in Hampden. We both had Pad Thai, mine with Chicken, his with Veggies. The food here is amazing, fresh, and cooked perfectly. I loved the tiny mushrooms, thins bites of lemongrass, and the peapods. The broth/sauce is so flavorful and delicious. I especially loved the summer basil roll with peanut dipping sauce. The Curry puff was also tasty. Even the rice is extraordinarily wonderful and perfect. This was altogether way too much food. My husband and I tried this place during our last week of veganuary. They have so many vegan options on their menu. But if you go there and don't get the chive dumplings you have missed out. Omg they were crispy, hot, and so flavorful! I could have had two orders. I got the Red curry with veggies and my hubby got the mock duck curry. Both had great heat, depth of flavors and the portions were nice size too. Customer service was A+++++. This place has become a go-to Thai place this past month, as I recently relocated to the Hampdens area. It's tucked away in the corner of a neighborhood, and doesn't seem like much from the outside. however!! The menu is diverse and includes vegan options, and many appetizers, sides, and main dishes to choose from. We ordered the Thai tea, which was absolutely delicious and not watered down at all, the papaya salad was surprisingly spicy but addictive, and the chicken w/steamed rice was perfectly cooked. The flavor is all that you would expect in Thai food- sweet, savory, sour, salty. I came back the next week with my friends to try out their pad see ew, tom yum soup, and fried rice. We just moved to Baltimore - Hampden, specifically - and Bodhi Corner was our first meal in the neighborhood when we moved into our apartment. We shared the Kanom Jeep (steamed dumplings stuffed with shrimp, minced pork, water chestnuts, and shiitake mushrooms) and the chive dumplings (garlic chive, rice flour, and crispy garlic). Both were very good! We also tried the Kao Soi (egg noodles, curry, pickled cabbage, scallions, crispy noodles, and crispy red onion) and crab fried rice (crab meat, jasmine rice, egg, carrot, green peas, corn, scallion, and onion); both of these dishes were good, too! We enjoyed everything we tried! I'm also really excited that they have vegan options on the menu (vegan chicken teriyaki, vegan kra prow, vegan crab fried rice, vegan duck curry) for visits with vegan friends and family! We picked up takeout on this occasion (easy on Toast), but I'm looking forward to eating at Bodhi Corner on many more occasions in the future as we are just a short walk away from this very good Thai spot! read more

I literally just finished a plate from the $80 meal ticket I ordered for Friday night takeout. I would definitely not recommend this place. I'll start with the pineapple fried rice with crispy pork: I swear the pork was two days old. All of the meat tasted old. I had to spit out the chicken in the pad Thai. The orange chicken, which I can't remember how much it cost as an entree, literally looked like an appetizer. The mussels, literally no flavor. The Panang curry had MAYBE 4 shrimp and it was also very watery. Literally NOTHING had spice. Ohh, let's get to the mango rice....bitting halfway into it, it was so hard and the sauce was also watery. I am very disappointed because on a stormy night my family though we would cuddle up with good take-out. We was wrong. Welp, it's my first and last visit. Tried it for the first time and I really like this restaurant. The first duck dish is so tender and not chewy and the sauce it delicious. Unfortunately the quality of food has gone down. My favorite is still the drunken noodles, but there have been instances getting takeout where the noodles were all broken or there just wasn't enough. I suggest Mona's down the block for drunken noodles. read more

The past two times I've come here for carry out, the wait was well over an hour. The inside is over crowded with door dash employees (I feel bad for the people dining in!). My last order was misssing an item. There's always one person working the entire floor. One person serving, one person handling carry out, one person answering the phone. Hire more staff. We've done take out from here 3 or 4 times over the past year. The food is delicious, HOWEVER its a bit too spicy for my Caucasian sensibilities. That being said, I eat it every time, sweat profusely, and it's well worth it. He reluctantly sat us, and when I informed him we were switching tables due to gnats, he barely flinch an eye...actually, he may have rolled them! Upon relocating to a different table, I was still bitten; however, the seven bugs I killed were not gnats. They were some weird, tiny, fuzzy bugs! I have NEVER had this experience before in my life! Scary. We opted to leave but still wanted the food, so we ordered takeout. My friend went back in to gather the food, and we went elsewhere to avoid the continued attack of the bugs I thoroughly enjoyed the food; however, the portion sizes were skimpy, and the chicken and broccoli dish contained zero broccoli crowns...all stems! Baltimore was in serious need of good Thai food and this place is above and beyond what I expected. I'd recommend this place for the food, great customer service and great atmosphere. I think it'd be great as just a hang out w friends but even as a nice dinner date. And prices are not too bad, definitely helps the bill that it's BYOB! Only con is that it's first come first serve seating, we came right as they opened for dinner so it wasn't an issue. Price location service is all great, but doesn't make up for the food. I actually prefer the location of walking down couple blocks from 36th, away from the loud crowd. Eating outside was a no, because of the sun. It'd be nice to have umbrellas or canopies for guests to dine under. The rice wasn't fresh during my experience. Judging from some other comments, they haven't quite figured out how to manage the online ordering system and pickup orders. Tonight we ordered takeout online and pre-paid using the Toast app, and Bodhi Corner let someone else walk off with our order before we arrived. They ran my wife through a ringer to get her to prove that we placed the order before agreeing to make our food for us again. I wish they would have asked the thieves for the same level of verification. It's a pity, but I don't think I would trust them again with a takeout order. read more

Awesome local Thai restaurant in Hampden. Whenever I'm in the mood for Thai food, this is my go to spot. They have really streamlined the to-go process and you can call in or order online and they'll have your food ready right by the door. Fortunately there is a number of easy parking locations close by and picking up food during dinner time has not been difficult for me. I've tried their Drunken noodles, Papaya salad and their Pink bowl which was a really good sweet and sour seafood noodle soup. Like most Thai places you can customize the spice level to your preference. I didn't dine in at this location but when I dined in at their Fed Hill location they also have great homemade fish sauces and hot sauces you can add to your food for an extra kick! read more

I LOVE bodhi. However, every time I order through grub hub and get the curry they SKIMP on rice. The box isn't even full to the top. I legit just ordered $85 worth of food for 3 people to share and we all got two tablespoons of rice. Rice, of all things, is cheap af. The rice to curry ratio is always off. It just doesn't make sense...I shouldn't have to order extra if I spend that amount on food. A curry entree should come with enough rice. Plus, the protein is always super skimpy bc they want you to pay for extra protein. So, although, I do think it is the best Thai in the city flavor wise they need to be less skimpy for the price. read more
