It is a cozy late night spot! I took one star down because there were a lot of flies around the window seating area my friend and I were in. It was difficult to eat because you wouldn't have expected a place to have so many flies! The food was otherwise very good and service was gentle and kind. The portions are generous and there is many to choose from. I would've expected the quality of the noodles to be better since they reminded me a bit of ramen noodles for the Kao Soi I've had. Still - the food was filling and flavorful for Thai cuisine. I think there's a lot of potential for this place to flourish especially by taking some steps to improve the cleanliness!

After a long day of moving our furniture, I was craving something soupy, but it was 10pm and all pho places were closed. I saw on Rod Dee Thai's menu that it had a soup called Tom Yum Goong. We came in expecting to be seated, but their dine-in was closed! It closes at 10:30pm. They were only doing take out, which was fine by me. I ordered the soup along with a Thai iced tea, drunken noodles with chicken and my husband ordered pineapple fried rice with chicken. All this was only ~$38! The Tom Yum soup was delicious!!! It really hit the spot and it cured my pho cravings. It was sour, tangy and had a meaty flavor to it. The drunken noodles were also really delicious, my only wish was that I should have ordered it spicy! My husband also really enjoyed his fried rice. I can't believe I've been here for almost 2 years and I just discovered this place! I definitely will be back here to order again!

Great food, terrific service. Nice spot on Charles street. Open til 11 for takeout. Closes at 10 for sit down service. A portion is more than a meal but not enough for 2 and can be eaten by a single person.

I am not a huge fan of Pad Thai because it's not consistent from place to place. Rod Dee hands down nailed it. My tastebuds were so delighted by the quality of this dish. The Iced Thai Tea is delicious also... I literally just finished and ran to my phone to write this review. The staff was very nice over the phone while helping me get my iced tea since the iced coffee is the only option on Door Dash. I will be ordering again. I'm stuffed. I have no room for my dessert lol.

I had a really nice lunch there. They have lunch specials for $10 and it comes with a select entree, a vegetable soup and a vegetable roll. I chose the drunken noodle as my entree and it was fresh and flavorful. I also had a Thai iced tea, and it was really sweet, so it's more like a dessert. The lady working there was nice and helpful and the food came out fast and hot. Besides the lunch specials, they also have a full menu too. I really enjoyed my lunch there and I will definitely go back to try something else.

Such good authentic Thai food! Seriously haven't had a meal this authentic since Thailand. The owner was very friendly and even invited us to eat late at night during the "closed hours" (he said locals know this place stays open late aka 2am). Got massaman curry, papaya salad, pad see ew, and finished off with taro custard and sticky rice. Highly recommend

Mainly ended up here because it was open late on Sunday, but it helped that the menu and everything I saw online looked promising, and it did not let me down. I at first was going to have my friend meet me to dine in, but then she had a change of plans so I had to change my order to go. They handled it well, and it was prepared pretty quickly. I got the Kao Soi Tofu and the Sweet Sticky Rice w/ Taro Custard. It was actually my first time trying both of these and I really liked them. The Kai Soi was like a dressed up yellow curry with a delicious rich and spicy sauce, which thankfully wasn't at all oily unlike some curries I've had. The pickled mustard greens were a really nice touch on this. The waitress asked if I wanted spicy or non-spicy and I went with spicy. Yes it is spicy but nothing insane. If you are averse to spicy food get the non-spicy version but don't be afraid of the spicy if you have a moderate spicy tolerance. The sticky rice and custard was also delicious - the custard had such a nice texture and natural taro flavour, and the dessert wasn't too sweet or heavy. The portions were very filling but I was starving so I finished every last bite. Even in the takeout packaging, the presentation was really nice! Very fair prices for the size and quality of food! I also like the vibe of the restaurant, it's nothing fancy but the wooden walls make it feel cozy - would've loved to dine in and relax there for a while.

So far, tried their pad Thai, massaman curry and mango with sticky rice. Everything was delicious! Their massaman curry was one of the best Thai curries I have tried. It is flavorful with the right amount of spiciness. Loved the sticky rice with fresh mango slices. Will be coming back for more.

We went to this place because it was open till 3am! How nice and convenient for college students who want a late night treat. The place was pretty cozy and the service was extremely nice! He was so kind and well-mannered. The Rho dee thai noodles were really, really spicy. But, Ka Pow Chicken was delicious, however, the portions were small. Crab Ragoons.... ABSOLUTE YUM! Totally worth the money. I think this restaurant's biggest perk is that it is so open late, and their food is mid-average good. It will satisfy your late night cravings!

This is from my experience on Monday 7/4. I only went to get a carry out order of mango sticky and Thai iced tea. I changed my mind and dined in for my mango sticky rice because I was pressed to eat it immediately. Every time I get mango sticky from Rod Dee it's on point, I just which the portion was slightly bigger. The Thai iced tea always hits and not that I know they have coconut milk I'll be getting them from here more often. I do appreciate how this business is open on the late night tip for night eaters like myself.

New bar! They aren't selling booze yet but hopefully soon

A brand new restaurant on N Charles St midway between Mt. Vernon and the Harbor, Rod Dee Thai has exceeded my expectations! I had the Curry Puffs, Ka Nom Jeep, Pork Pad Thai, and Green Curry. Some would say that's too much food, but my taste buds would disagree. The owners are young, full of energy, and ready to show you a taste of Thailand. There is plenty of space for seating, TVs, and a beautiful bar (can't wait till they start serving liquor). I'll definitely be coming back on the regular to support this local Baltimore business, and to feed my Thai food addiction of course.

I'm from Bangkok, Thailand. This place is the best Thai food ever and authentic Thai style. Very nice service. 100% will be back.

We entered shortly after 4 PM, which is when they open. There was no one downstairs when we entered, so we walked upstairs. When we walked upstairs, we asked the man at the bar if we could be seated because there was no one downstairs. He looked a bit flustered at first, but still ended up seating us in the same spot. I sat before near the window, which is exactly what I wanted. He immediately brought us ice, water and menus. He pointed to the specials on the menu, and gave us some time to look. We were the only people in the restaurant. Within a few minutes, he came and took our orders. Then, we waited.... For like 25 or so minutes... for the appetizer. And honestly, when they brought the duck rolls out, I was super disappointed. These were not the duck rolls I remember. These were tiny, underfilled, mostly full of the wrapper themselves, and lacking flavor. Additionally, when I placed my initial order, I asked for all of the condiments/sauces to be brought out. I asked the server again when the rolls came out, and he didn't bring them out until I asked a third time when the entrées came out. When the entrées did come out (ga tiem and crab fried rice), they left a lot to be desired. Ga tiem: bland. And to make it so bad, the vegetables served with it, were not cooked in the sauce as they normally are. They were served on the side and we're not cooked all the way. I can't really eat broccoli, so I swapped it for green beans, but I could pretty much snap the green beans in half because they were still so undercooked. Crabmeat fried rice: the fact that they cut up like three full scallion stems, barely cooked them, and tucked them under/at the base of the rice is crazy. They weren't even cooked long enough to release flavor. Also, to be in Baltimore, the amount of crab was a little embarrassing. Definitely should have been more. Overall, the rice wasn't very flavorful. Thai tea: good! Not too sweet, not too milky. You want to know what really made me mad? I asked for soy sauce, and they brought those super cheap packages that just look like black water that the cheap Chinese restaurants provide you when you get carry out. Those packets literally taste like nothing. I have been to very few Asian restaurants in my life that provide that type of soy sauce, especially when you dine in. It doesn't taste like soy sauce at all. I was incredibly disappointed. And considering the fact that I had to ask for these sauces three times, I was even more disappointed. We spent about $62 on the items above. Would I say I got my moneys worth? No would I say that I enjoyed this visit as much as I enjoyed the last? Absolutely not.

The flavor was rich, perfectly seasoned, and the spice level was exactly what I wanted. You can tell the food is made with care and authenticity. I also ordered the pomegranate martini and it was absolutely amazing. It had the perfect balance of sweet without being overwhelming, especially if you're someone who doesn't love super strong drinks. It was refreshing and paired really well with the meal. With all the competition in the area, we don't find ourselves coming here quite as much. Their drunken noodles are not as flavorful as the competition and often come out gummy. That said, the Tom Yum fried rice is still killer, and if we stick to our favorites they will give any competition a run for their money. The real reason for the loss of a star is the patchy service. We gave up eating there in person years ago and now focus on carryout. Typically we show up at the time our online order tells us to, but more often than not, the food isn't ready. Not the end of the world, we usually just go for a walk around the block and by the time we are done with that, it's ready. What drives me crazy though is that on a recent visit, while we were walking, we get a text that our order is ready, we come back and it STILL isn't done, we have to keep waiting. TLDR; sometimes the food can be slow to come out and the information about when the food will be ready isn't always accurate.
