Bodega La Palma is a hidden gem!! It's not far from the town square and has a excellent variety of wines for reasonable prices. The Papas Bravas (Braves de La Palma) are really good. Muscles with white wine & garlic & chili was a home run!!! When your in the area - it's a must try.. they speak English so there isn't any discomfort when ordering.

This is such a cool space. It's an old wine shop with great ambiance. This is definitely a local, authentic place. The food was amazing also. My favorite was the Catalan crème and patatas bravas. A must visit when in Barcelona.

This is a great place to have tapas. I love the history behind it and the service was good. I would highly recommend this place. Order the pan con tómate.

Amazing food, great service, and reasonable pricing. Came here while in Barcelona with a few friends. One of them was really searching for a local hole in the wall and we stumbled onto this place. From what I understand it's been around forever and all the locals love it. I definitely understand the sentiment! The staff was super friendly, we got seated quickly and the service was really speedy. We got the patatas brava, Spanish omelette, cannelloni, mussels, meat pastry for small plates. Everything was phenomenal to the point where I missed getting photos of a few things because we started eating so quickly , and timing on each plate was perfect. Dessert was next level, 10/10 recommend the French toast. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone's who's in an area local or visiting. Really great experience!

Salad with anchovies. Very generous serving.

We stopped in here at the recommendation of our tour guide. She said it was her favorite restaurant. It is down a narrow side street and I doubt we would have discovered it on our own. It is totally a locals spot but our server spoke English and was very nice and attentive. Also, they have an English menu. For lunch they had a special Menu of the Day which provided an appetizer, main course and dessert for $14. It was a deliciously great deal. I had a salad with anchovies, cod fish with butternut squash and a baked apple. My husband had the Ham croquettes, baked rabbit and brownie. He loved the rabbit! They also offer wine and beer. We arrived around 1:30 for lunch and there were a few tables filled but by 2:30 it was packed. We were the only tourists and I think that is a good sign of a great local joint.

We saw this restaurant on a YouTube channel about food in. Barcelona and decided to try it out. The food was great and loved how it was tucked away in an alley. Definitely recommend this place!

This was recommended by our AirBnB hostess. Really, we had high hopes for our first restaurant in Barcelona and our introduction to tapas, but this didn't meet any expectations. We were told that tapas were cheap. These weren't. We were told they were "to die for" and all that is dying are our stomachs. So, minus a star for price. Minus a star for taste. The service was awkward. Many people working and circling, but still we waited a long time to order drinks, longer to order our food. Food came quick. Then, it took nearly 1/2 hour after we finished our last sip of beer (never got our waters, which we asked for when our food came) to get the cheque. No one ever checked on us to see if we liked our food. I'm looking forward to to seeing what else is out in Barcelona. Won't return here nor recommend it.

Great food! My boyfriend thinks this is the best place in the entire city and honestly it might be. Fair price and really great quality. We loved everything we had and were craving more when we were done but were too stuffed to go on. The cheesecake! Holy cow, the best I've ever had. The smoked cod also blew us away. We went on a Monday night and it wasn't packed at all, not sure how the weekends are. The history behind the place is what drew us in but the food will have us coming back. Totally would recommend!

We stopped in here as part of a food tour early on in our trip and really enjoyed this place! We got to try vermut here which was great! We also tried croquette (squid!) and anchovies. These salty dishes were perfect paired with our drinks and I loved trying some new things for the first time. Would definitely recommend a stop in! We were lucky enough to stop in at a time where it wasn't overly crowded and the atmosphere was really nice.

Croquettes...ham and squid, thinly sliced ham, toasted buttered bread, and potatoes braves.

Located in the La Ribera neighborhood, Tapeo was a Yelp find. Smaller and cozy with a few Bar…read moreseats and some high top tables. Also, a small area for bigger groups in the back. We grabbed the only table open when we arrived at 1 on a Monday afternoon. We saw a Cava Sangria (a first) and had to try-light and delicious! They also had Majou Beer (from Malaga) on draft which is hard to find outside of Malaga so had to have one. We ordered a couple of starters and a couple of what I'd say were bigger plates. The pork belly marinated in lime was tasty but the fresh Mackerel stole the show! The Truffled eggs with foie and mushrooms was finished table-side and was amazing. We missed that the Cuttlefish had squid ink-no matter, so light and exquisite-only complaint would be to have more cuttlefish. Service was engaged and friendly from start to finish. Tapeo reminds me of some of the regional restaurants where you want to try the entire menu at once cause it all looks so good. Tapeo is now on the list of "must stops" when in Barcelona!
