The staff seem to focus most of their attention on the regulars, which makes it difficult for new customers to feel welcomed or included. The atmosphere comes across as pretty cliquish. The food also doesn't quite match the prices. It feels more like pre-made or reheated items than freshly prepared dishes, making it hard to justify the cost. I really wanted to enjoy this place because it has potential, but unfortunately the service and overall experience haven't lived up to my expectations.

I also tried the baked shrimp which came burnt around the edges and served with a sauce that tasted a little like Big Mac sauce (think catsup and relish). I enjoyed the company of my friends and the intimate and dark atmosphere. Service was all provided by one person from what I could see was working had to cover all areas. For a Thursday night, seemed crowded. Not sure why there wasn't more help.

Last night the stars aligned and I FINALLY got to check this restaurant out. I loved the decor in there! It was rustic and fun. Mismatched chairs, barrels, chandeliers mixed with industrial looking string lights.. it was great! The menu had a lot of options and the prices looked very reasonable. I opted for the Brisket sandwich for $18. It came with two sides and I picked the Smoked Cheddar Mac N Cheese and the Creamy Potato Salad. Each table had a few different BBQ sauce options too. My food came out quick. The Smoked Cheddar Mac N Cheese had good flavor and a great creamy texture. The Creamy Potato Salad also had great flavor and a great texture. I really liked it versus the potato salads that I have had at a lot of other BBQ places because often they are "eggy" and that is not what I prefer. The brisket was amazing. GREAT flavor and so tender. I ate 80% of it before I realized that I needed to try the BBQ sauces lol. I tried all three of the sauces on my table... Original, Sweet & Bold, and Hickory Smoke. All three were good but Original was my favorite. While eating an employee stopped by my table twice to make sure I did not need anything and that everything was good. He was very friendly. Now my biggest dilemma is figuring out when I can go back! This was the best BBQ I have found in awhile outside of Houston!

-- Wanted to love it, but it missed the mark (for now)…read more I'm a huge BBQ fan, so when I came across The Hangry Herd on Instagram, I grabbed my wife and headed over. It's a couple of blocks off the freeway exit, and the inside is cute: emerald velvet sofas, mustard scallop-back chairs, a wall of stacked wine barrels, Edison bulb pendants, chandeliers, and exposed ductwork. It's more lounge than smokehouse and doesn't really scream BBQ. Most of the seating is high-top stools, so with our 3-year-old we sat outside. You order at the counter, grab your own silverware from the corner, and seat yourself. The menu is on the wall. Prices are decent, but meats come in platters and combos rather than à la carte by the pound, which is different from most BBQ spots. I ordered the Hangry Sampler. It must have been a slow day; the server mentioned something about events happening nearby. The food definitely felt like it had been sitting a while: - Brisket: Okay, but not much smoke, and it was a bit cold and dry. - Chicken: Super dry, probably from sitting. They sauce it for you, which I'm not a fan of. - Pulled pork: Also suffered from sitting. - Tri-tip: Overly dry. You could see it in the slices, and it ate tough and chewy despite a decent-looking rub. - Rolls: Store-bought and cold. - Sides: A miss for me. The mac and cheese tasted mustard-based, and the coleslaw didn't do it for me either lacking flavor. - BBQ sauces were generic; not sure if house made. Service overall was decent. I really wanted to like this place, but it feels like it has a bit of an identity crisis. It's more of a wine lounge that sells BBQ on the weekends. This may have been a one-off on a slow day. I'm willing to try again and will update my review.

The…read morereviews looked good and I wanted somewhere different to go with one of my friends who i haven't seen in a long time. They take reservations so I made one for lunchtime. They have indoor and out dining but it was going to be warm so I picked inside. It is located in a small strip mall and had ample parking. The outdoor area is covered so that is nice not to get direct sunlight since it is hot out. There were quite a few tables taken outside when I arrived just before noon. Mostly seniors. It was an inviting looking area. They suggest making reservations if you want to dine outdoors. I went inside and right in front of the entrance was a small bar area. A nice sized dinning area with a lot of tables. My friend was already there and we were the only ones inside hehe. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. She told us the soup of the day and that they hadn't gotten their salmon delivery yet so that wasn't available. The soup was a mushroom vegetable soup and you know I love soup so I got a cup of that and it was nice and flavorful. It had a large half of potato in it. I had to cut it in half with my knife. It was a bit big to eat in the soup. The soup was great and i enjoyed it I got the Fettuccine Bolognese and she asked if I wanted a half order or full. I got the full. I expected it to be pretty big portion but it was a normal size. I was just able to finish it. so no problems there I think they cater to seniors so that's the half sizes which is nice they offer it. My friend got the spinach ravioli and it was good too. I ordered the bread and it came on a cutting board with three types of bread. Great presentation and loved the bread with whipped butter yum. The service was amazing and I had so much fun catching up with my friend. it was easy to do in this place. No rush and time flew by. This place is so cute and the food is amazing truly a hidden gem and a great place to eat. I will have to try dinner here sometime.

The flavors were definitely full-sized; the portions apparently had other plans. For the price, we expected a little more Italian generosity on the plate. We had made a reservation for a special occasion--a 50th birthday. While the occasion wasn't acknowledged at first, our waitress eventually asked about it when we declined dessert, explaining that we had birthday cake waiting at home. To her credit, she stepped up and brought out a cup of gelato, which was a thoughtful gesture and a nice way to recognize the milestone. She deserves credit for turning that moment around! Now, let's talk about the bread. The butter was absolutely delicious--so good that it deserved its own reservation. Unfortunately, the bread came in quantities that suggested it was being rationed for an Italian expedition. And yes, we were charged for it! I understand that rising costs mean restaurants sometimes have to charge for things that used to be complimentary. That's fair. But if bread is going to come with a price tag, it shouldn't arrive looking like the restaurant is operating under wartime rationing. The butter was ready for a feast; the bread supply was prepared for a tasting. All jokes aside, the food was genuinely good, and our waitress made a kind gesture that we appreciated. However, between the undersized portions and the bread ration, the value for the money fell short. Fabian's has the flavor figured out; now it just needs to be a little more generous. After all, we're paying for dinner, not an Italian food trailer. Great food, a thoughtful waitress, but portions and bread service that could use a little more la dolce vita.

They do a phenomenal job with the menu here & the staff are always very friendly and attentive as well. I am not sure if they still do it (I haven't checked in on it for a long time) but a while back they had trivia nights. I went to a few and they were so fun! They had actual entertaining questions that people might actually know the answers to. Just a fun thing to participate in :-) The only slightly negative thing I could say about this establishment is that can sometimes get pretty loud in there because it's a small restaurant with a bar attached so sometimes (well, often) drunk people talking loudly at the bar can be annoying if you're sitting at a table close to the bar. Other than that small thing, everything else is great! :-)

Cool, laid-back decor with some awesome portraits of a few absolute GOATs on the walls--Dave Chappelle, Anthony Bourdain, and others. Definitely gives the place some personality and makes it feel like somewhere you actually want to hang out. I didn't get a chance to try the food this time, but I cannot wait to come back for the veggie burger. If the cocktails are any indication of the quality coming out of the kitchen, I'm expecting to be very happy. Great drinks, great atmosphere, and clearly a place that knows how to do things right. Already looking forward to my next visit.

On the positive side, the restaurant itself was noticeably clean, which immediately set a welcoming tone upon walking through the door. The service was also excellent throughout the evening, with an attentive and hospitable staff that took great care of me. I started the meal with the bread service, which was a major high point. The bread arrived incredibly fresh, and it paired wonderfully with the high quality balsamic vinegar and oil provided. For the main course, I ordered the seafood risotto. The seafood components were standout elements of the night, as every piece was perfectly prepared, exceptionally fresh, and packed with flavor. The risotto itself was executed well, though it was just a bit too soupy for my personal preference. However, it was still a very enjoyable dish overall. Unfortunately, the physical environment and the dessert course dampened the experience. I was seated in a booth where the bench seat was completely broken. It felt unstable, and I had to be constantly careful throughout the entire meal to avoid sliding or falling forward directly into the dinner table. This made it difficult to fully relax. The meal ended on a low note with the tiramisu. The dessert was completely covered in a cheap, grocery store style chocolate syrup that you would typically expect on an ice cream sundae. This heavy syrup unfortunately masked all the delicate, authentic flavors of the tiramisu itself. Ultimately, a few quality errors from the kitchen and a lack of furniture maintenance held back what could have been an outstanding dining experience.
