We enjoyed an absolutely amazing meal at Bodega Biondi on a recent Friday night. The food is fantastic! We started with an order of spanish mussels that were incredibly tasteful, and the mussels were very large. We also enjoyed village harvest salads that were excellent. Now the main courses are what I need to rave about. The salsiccia manicotti was one of the best Italian dishes I have enjoyed in recent memory. My guests enjoyed the daily specials. And while unfortunately I cannot remember the names of their dishes, all received A grades. For dessert, the tiramisu was excellent as well. The wine list is fairly extensive. All prices from the food to the wine are reasonable. The restaurant is small so you should consider reservations if you are going on a potentially busy night. The decor is cozy and warm. Service is friendly, quick and responsive. The restaurant is located in the heart of old town Fair Oaks so finding parking is always a challenge. I can safely say this was one of my best Italian dining experiences I have enjoyed in the Sacramento region. read more

Unique spot. It's really dark and cramped. If you sit next to a noisy table, it will ruin your entire experience. The decor is nothing special and much less than I expected. The Chicken Alfredo is delicious (5/5) $19. The Lasagna is good but way too skimpy to order again (2/5) $23. There are no lunch specials offered here, which seems like a missed opportunity. There is no complimentary bread or add on soup or salad options. An order of bread is an extra $4 or $5. It was only enough for 1 person and it tasted really stale and store bought (1/5). Unacceptable. Besides their Alfredo and decent service, there isn't much to come back for. You certainly won't be leaving here with a lot of leftovers. I wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, my bf and I feel like we wasted around $80 on a very mediocre dinner. I don't know if we will give this place a second chance. It will be along time. We got the steak bites for an appetizer. They had good flavor, but it was over cooked and there was nothing with it. It could have been on a bed of arugala or something. I got the chicken marsala. It looked and tasted like it came from a cafeteria at an assisted living. Like it was trying to be good, but just didn't get there. My partner got the manicotti. He is not a complainer but he said it was very mediocre and he was not happy with his meal. We did get the food to go. Perhaps that made a difference? but it really shouldn't have. Great tapas & wine bar in Fair Oaks Village. The food is really good in my opinion but the owner said wine sales were the goal lol so maybe he was being modest about the food. I respect that. We had the Frito Misto (calamari) and the beat salad. Also tried the margarita flat bread the first time I went and loved it. They use really good quality ingredients here from what i can tell. The cheeses on the salad and flat bread pizzas were really good. My only complaint was the $8 San Pelligrinootherwise I love everything else about this place. They play Italian music the whole time and it's a small relaxed environment, which I love. The owner Franco is a nice guy that comes from a family of cooks so he seems to know what he's doing. Our first time in and a beautiful surprise. We were heading next door and noticed the menu which looked appealing. We sat at the bar and served by Logan who was attentive and welcoming. We shared two tapas and enjoyed some adult beverages, which led to a delicious dessert. We really enjoyed the food and wanted to try more, so we'll be back. Review only for staff greeting which was so lacking that we went next door for lunch. Arrived on Thursday at 11:35am (5 minutes after opening). 2 tables were seated already and we were excited to try a new spot. Male at counter bar within 3 feet of us, was on his laptop, never spoke to us, and dashed out the door without a word. He returned a few minutes later with a case of beer and 2 bags of ice -- again without a word. Female server approached us and said "did you want to be seated?" Umm... yes... can we sit outside on the patio? Her response was hesitant and she said " I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to you as I have the 2 tables and another group of 7 in back". With that, we gave up. Not because we were in a hurry, but because the initial interactions were so strange and un-inviting. Went next door to great food, drinks and very friendly staff. The restaurant was warm and welcoming. There was a lot of people coming in, but they had two tables open, so me and my partner sat down. Their service was timely and I really enjoyed the environment there. But the food was definitely the star of the show. I had the pesto gnocchi which was so good! The flavor was clean, and it was so tender. For the main dish, my partner and I shared the Pollo Marsala, and the chicken breast was so moist, and the sauce was delicious. This is a new gem in the Fair Oaks crown! We came for a date night without reservations. We didn't wait long and got a seat at their bar area which was nice (except the draft from the door opening regularly but not a big deal). Franco (the owner) was our server and recommended a delicious wine that went great with our meal. We loved the chimichurri steak bites, gnocchi, and the eggplant parmigiano! They have done a complete makeover from the days of the Bistro and Wild Rooster. It's very comfortable and looks great. Mostly Italian plates but a number of Spanish influenced dishes. Our group ordered a variety of small plates and salads and, with the exception of the flatbread, all were excellent. Definitely calls for a return visit. read more
