Bar-b-que was okay. The ribs tasted the best between these, the sliced Turkey and beef sandwich. No sliced ham and No fries here, just chips, which is not a problem just an observation for those who may want them. Actually, this was not the Bodacious Barbecue I was looking for. We went anyway. The food was good. I got the brisket and turkey. My wife got the ribs and spicy sausage. The portions were good. The coleslaw was quite good. This turned out to be a successful trip after all. read more

This used to be the place to go for bbq ribs. They still have great flavor, but the last few times I have visited the ribs have been very tough. I don't know if they have started cooking at a higher temp, or if they aren't cooking them as long, or what has changed, but they are not the same ribs that were so delicious in the past. The chopped beef is still great, and the Bo-pack is a great deal if you have several people to feed. Overall Bodacious has gone from a place that I would recommend to people, to a place I will eat lunch at occasionally. read more

Our family of five ordered a Bo-Box with a pound of chopped beef, 4 buns and two sides. It was a FANTASTIC deal with plenty and we are super picky about our Smoked meat. They cut the meat fresh to order and the whole joint smells amazing. The sauce was the right blend of sweet and spicy and vinegary. A great find in Marshall on our road trip about Texas. read more

When people talk about Texas BBQ... They're probably talking about Bodacious! This place is hands down the best BBQ I've ever had! However, don't take my word for it because I'm from California and bodacious is my first and only real experience of Texas BBQ... Sadly. When I did eat from here, I kept asking myself "what in thee hell do these people put in their food? CRACK??!?" Because I just kept wanting more! Everything they served was amazing! This is just great, straight-forward BBQ at a decent price. Don't walk in looking for gimmicks or anything crazy. Brisket has good flavor, but is not overly salty. Sausage was flavorful, with just a slight hint of spiciness. Best part of the experience was the sauce. Just made the meat come alive. Ribs! Ribs! Ribs!!!!!!!!! My absolute favorite Ribs!!!! They are always perfectly cooked and just spicy enough. Get the rib plate with the beans ( super delicious ) and potato salad ( also crazy yummy) it also comes with sliced white bread and of course great BBQ sauce but you really don't need it but it's so good you eat it anyway ( that's what the breads for/dipping it in the sauce) there's enough food for me to have lunch and then dinner in just 1 rib plate. I have eaten here dozens of times and always get the same thing. There is something about their ribs that keeps me (and tons of other people) coming back regularly. They are better than any other Bodacious I have ever eaten at. I can't really say much about the rest of the food, as the ribs and links are all i've tried. Well, it's like this., we were in Marshall sorta on business and sorta just looking around. My brother is a big fan of Bodacious in Tyler and has talked about it many times so when we saw the store we stopped for lunch...we ordered a sliced beef plate and a sliced beef sandwich. They gave us a lot of food and it looked pretty good. But alas, the meat was chewy, and had no flavor...well maybe a slight hint of roast beef flavor but basically just bland. We ate a few bites and decided we wanted something better to eat so we left pretty much the entire order sitting on the table and went across the street to Jucys and got a burger. Lunch cost almost $40 in total but we chalked it up to lesson learned. Don't believe my brother when it comes to BBQ restaurants. read more

This is a chain restaurant that can be found throughout east Texas. It is not a "hole in the wall" or original Texas BBQ joint. I find the BBQ to be dry and needing lots of sauce. My favorite thing they have is their smoked turkey sandwich. read more

Their chopped beef sandwiches are usually very lean and very delicious! The only problem I encounter is having to wait too long in the drive thru even though I've called an order in prior to going there. They allow ppl to pull up, place an order and wait at the window until their order is ready instead of having them circle the building and get back in line so the ones who've called ahead don't gave to sit and wait so long Their potatoe salad and baked beans are delicious also! read more

Ate here with my husband on our way to Jefferson for some antiquing. We both ordered the sliced turkey sandwich and it was huge. The turkey was piled 5 slices high and I could hardly get my mouth around it ,but I did ,and it was wonderful. I put a little bbq sauce on mine to try it but it didn't even need it. This was defineltly a hole in the wall that I would return too!! The sandwich was sooo big that my husband and I cut ours in half and had it the next day for lunch. I'm not a barbecue expert by any means, but I enjoyed my open face barbecue sandwich. It was very tasty, but I think they put too much food on one plate. If you eat in, be prepared to wash your hair afterward. They have their barbecue smoker on site. read more
