New to the area for work and stopped in. Great service, awesome lunch sandwich and homemade soups. Will definitely be going back.

I am 65 years old, grew up having Katz's bagels in Chelsea MA. Every Sunday. For my entire life every bagel had not lived up to Katz's. Not New York bagels in Brooklyn, not Kupel bagels in Brookline MA, definitely NOT frozen bagels. While living in Metrowest for years I had longed for Katz's.....BUT... Then came Bodacious Bagel. This is the BEST bagel I have ever had in my life. Freshly made every morning, huge assortment, crispy on the outside while being light inside and,GREAT assortment of spreads. I have had 1/2 dz. bagels 3X in the last 2 weeks and always taste the same. Sitting home with my family it was unanimous they all felt the same as me. The 2 young ladies who work the line together are like well greased oil machine. No matter how many people are in line, they are on cruise control while being SO NICE!!!! Bagels $1.39 Special bagels (Garlic, Bialy, Asiago) are $1.59. with a huge choice of spreads an additional $1.50. The food is mediocre. The service is terrible. The two women that work behind the counter are very rude. One of the women gave me major attitude because I asked for light lettuce on my wrap. She snapped at me and said "you should tell me before I make the wrap." Never got a greeting upon entering nor did I get one when I cashed out. I've been to this place several times out of convenience for work, but after today, I won't return. read more

The bagels are the best. They are plump and really like the bagels you get from New York. My only complaint is they only make the garlic bagels on the weekends. I enjoy the bagel sandwich with chive cream cheese,and smoked salmon. The salmon serving is overly generous compared to other bagel shops I have visited. I usually buy extra bagels to bring home for my family and keep them in the freezer to pull out as needed. We take them out of the freezer, zap in the microwave for 35 seconds, slice, and put in the toaster oven for 2 minutes. I can't tell any difference in taste from when I get them fresh at the shop and eat it right away. read more

I had Bodacious Bagels for the first time last week and they are amazing! They remind me of classic New York bagels which are very hard to come by in Massachusetts. Very fresh!! The Asiago Bagel is a must -try! read more

I've only tried the coffee, bagels, and sandwiches here, but they're all amazing. It's rare to find bagels with the right texture, but these are perfect: firm with a slight crunch when toasted on the outside, but warm and soft on the inside. The specialty cream cheeses are so yummy, especially the chive or the lox ones. The sandwiches have generous amounts of meat and other toppings inside and come with a bag of chips. Everything here is very decently priced, yummy, and consistent! I wish I was around more often to eat here. read more

I really want to give bodacious a 5 star rating, but I can't. The lady who is there, from what I've seen, Monday-Friday, is amazing. So sweet, great customer service and remembers orders. I always have a pleasant time there when her and the regular baker is there. They always have bagels ready by 6:20 AM when I'm there. But, one lady who I think only works weekends, she's shorter and not very pleasant, ever; and the other baker (they work Saturdays I think). They never have bagels out to show what's done. I got a bagel with cream cheese and she said she can't toast it. Didn't give me a reason just said "no I can't toast it." Then, made me the same coffee I always get, but poorly. I come here almost every morning, and have ALWAYS had to sign my receipt because I pay with my card. I always tip, but she refused to give me the one I sign, and put it under the drawer and said "you're all set" and walked away to the back and I waited because I know that I NEED to sign it and it's sketchy. I will be checking my bank account to make sure she doesn't put a bogus tip/signature. Only com here Monday-Friday if you're gonna come. read more

I so glad this place is on my way to work...I can't stand dunks and this halfway decent place to grab a bagel and coffee. They also have breakfast sandwiches and lunch items. The staff is friendly, attentive and quick. They have a nice variety bagels and the cream cheeses are awesome. Try this place out if you hate dunks and you like real food too. ;-) read more

The reviews are accurate. The bagels are delicious but the staff is extremely rude and pretty much get your order wrong every single time. I keep asking myself why I go back and it's because it's close and the bagels are amazing. I made a commitment to myself that I would put money in their tip jar when I finally have an interaction with the staff where they aren't completely rude. Alas, I've never tipped since they are ALWAYS RUDE. Update: 1/1/18 Since posting my review, I've been back a few times and haven't seen the 2 rude female employees that prompted my initial review. There are 2 new female employees who are both polite and pleasant. I was shocked when they said "good morning" to me since that was a first for me at Bodacious Bagel. Of course, the 2 rude girls could be off for the holidays, but I was hoping the owner was reading yelp and made some staff changes. I've been tipping the new staff since they are polite, friendly and provide good service. Hopefully the 2 rude women don't reappear. read more

I have to say that the name really attracted me and caught my attention as my friend and I were driving by the plaza where Bodacious is located. If you're looking for crazy and quirky bagel flavors, however, you may be disappointed. I didn't see anything listed that struck me as bodacious and new. That being said, they did have quite a nice selection and some interesting flavors. I didn't purchase any bagels since I'd just purchased half a dozen from another bagel place earlier in the day. What I did purchase turned out to be the most delicious cream cheese spread that I have ever tasted: apricot honey. Wow! Absolutely rich and delicious and unique. I also purchased a snicker doodle iced coffee and that was great too. I thought the prices were a little higher than I'd normally pay on some of the items I saw displayed for sandwiches and bakery items, but I wasn't going to purchase any of that (just be aware if you are looking for a sandwich that it was a little pricy). I live pretty far away so I'm not likely to go back, which is a pity. I encourage people in the area to check it out and let me know how the bagels are for taste! read more

Love the bagels and coffee. Boars head deli meat. A bit pricey for everyday but I do enjoy coming here.

The food is OK at this place, not great but not bad. Unfortunately, the service is horrific. The ladies behind the counter are downright rude. They roll their eyes when the customer requests anything that requires the least bit of effort. Their ring leader questioned my wife when she brought up to the counter a bottle of milk just purchased for our daughter that had visible chunks in it - the lady poured the milk into a glass and inspected the chunks before believing my wife. The furnishings inside this place haven't seen an update since the 70s and who knows what is living inside their ratty old booths. It is unfortunate because Ashland has very few decent restaurants. The food at Bodacious Bagels is tolerable, but CERTAINLY not worth the treatment received by the staff...will never go back. Good thing there's a DD within a couple miles! read more

Owner is really mean to his staff. I have been in there about 10 times and each time he's there it is a very tense environment. The last time (yesterday). I watched him berate one of his staff members who didn't get a guys order in 2 minutes. He kept asking her something and he would reply "no you listen" several times. The bagels are very fresh and delicious. For the first time ever, I got cream cheese on a bagel and did not have to scrape some off. The service was great. The people working there are very friendly. Cannot wait to try to blueberry scones they have. read more

I don't know what's happened to Bodacious but this place is hot garbage now. Their bagels used to be decent - better than going to Dunks or Honey Dew - but don't make up for the terrible everything else. Slow service, poor service, poor management and two of the past three weekends they haven't had any bagels ready in the morning. YOU'RE A BAGEL PLACE - that's literally your ONLY job!! If you don't like Dunks or Honey Dew, do yourself a favor and drive the 10 minutes to Cafe Fresh in Framingham and let the laws of capitalism bring this place to a swift - and merciful - death. I went there and had an everything bagel with chive cream cheese and it was really good. The coffee was creamy with a hint of coffee. I decided to go back there about a month later and while I was waiting one woman behind the counter decided to tell other customers about her recent ear infection. After touching her ear, without washing her hands, she went and tended to someones bagel. in a daze by this gross behavior, the other woman, in an unpleasant tone asked what I wanted. If you are Jewish, you will be taken aback that they charge extra for salt bagels. And only make them on the weekends. Every other place I go salt is standard. The bagels are pretty good but a million miles from the now shuttered H&H as well as the now #1 Esa Bagel. Yes, it's the NYC water that produces the best bagels. After 8years living nearby I finally discovered this place. The only thing I can review is the bagels, and they are as good as you can get anywhere (I grew up in Brookline and these are as good as Kupels Bakery) HOWEVER--and a big however, the service is rude and not customer focused at all. I stopped in at 6:35 this morning, web site and sign on door says open at 6:00 (and I have been there and made purchases on a sat morning before 6:30.) The door was unlocked lights were on and there were people working in back. I finally got someone's attention as they were bringing out a bunch bagels to put out front.he looked at me and rudely said "we're closed "I responded the sign says you're open at six and I've been in here and made purchases at six before. he responded "we are closed"and turned his back on me I then asked him if I could just leave some cash for a few bagels and I don't even care about getting change. He simply walked away. As a 30 year veteran of the service industry (restaurants) I can tell you this is not how to build a loyal customer base. He easily could've handed me two bagels for free or taken my five dollars for two bagels with no change needed and kept a happy customer for life. instead I left with a bad taste about customer service. As a famous NY restaurateur once said "Hospitality is making people feel you have done something FOR then, not TO them" Bodacious Bagels you have failed at that. read more

The onion bagels here are a slice of heaven. I've been going here for years...the bagels are just like New York! They have bialys too, which most people in the area have never even heard of. The consistency of the bagels are just perfect and the toppings very generous. The people here are very nice too! This is the best bagel place in the area hands down. First when I walk in, I see Spider webs and dirty floor, Then the Coffee containers are open all morning long losing its freshness and taste and the coffee is always COLD never hot, Have told them over and over...The ceilings as well where they make the Bagels are dirty as well. read more

The food is OK but the service is terrible I went there because I saw a boars head sign in the window so I went in to get the roasted turkey sandwich and they gave me a look that could kill she did not want to make me a sandwich so I went back there months later to see if the service changed and it did not so I will never go there again it's too bad because it's really close to my work so I go to the pizza store next door instead the girls that work there do not like people very much not sure why they work in that type of business read more
